Made a quick stop for a repair. I've seen this place but never stopped in before. April welcomed us and was able to do the repair immediately! Mind you, it was minor and even then, I thought we'd have to leave it. It is a lovely jewelry store with some beautiful items! We browsed while waiting on the repair. I went in to Leonard's the last week of July to get a battery replacement on my mother's watch. My mom passed away recently and her memorial service was the following week in southern IL. I wanted to wear the watch in her memory. I knew I wouldn't have much luck getting a replacement down south and I was in a hurry to get packed and on the road, so called Leonard's. They were closing in about 30 minutes, but I was a bit desperate and asked if I could stop by. The woman on the phone was so incredibly nice and said she could get me in despite having other customers at the time who were being serviced. She mentioned there is a battery shortage, but she'd see what they could do. I ran over and leave Chiluba they had the right battery. They got my moms watch done in maybe ten minutes. Both the women were so sweet, considerate and friendly. They were very attentive to the other customers and I could see that they truly care about their business. The one woman even showed me how to change the time and date on my moms watch and carefully instructed me so as not to break the turner. They both asked me about my trip (I didn't mention it was for my moms memorial), and about the area I was headed to and then wished me safe travels. I can't thank these two women enough. They have no idea how much it meant to me to be able to wear the watch and that their kindness put my distressed and saddened heart at ease even for a few minutes. Thanks ladies! They absolutely ruined a beautiful antique ring my husband got for me and brought to them to have sized. Instead of adding the extra silver like they told him they would, they stretched it. This ruined the filigree design along the edges and damaged the stone. They then told us that they never said they would add silver to it. Upon stretching, they made it so thin that it broke the very first time I wore it. When I brought it back to be fixed, they cleaned it with something harsh that completely stripped the patina away. Now, years later, the metal looks "washed out" and has begun to deteriorate. I keep my ring tucked away in my jewelry box and my heart is re-broken each time my daughter's take it out and ask about it. read more

I brought in a simple repair and the staff were SO helpful and pleasant. They were able to help me on the spot and didn't even take any money. Really excellent and friendly service. Brought my wedding ring here to be resized after gaining enough weight to make it now too small for my finger.the woman behind counter used ring sizer to determine how many sizes it needed to be enlarged, took my ring, filled out paperwork . . .and THEN informed me that they would have to send it out and i could pick it up in 1 week. I wasn't pleased about this ( in the past, at various other jewelers, have always had this done onsite in a matter of minutes) but I'd already filled out paperwork and given them my ring so figured I might as well come back to pick it up. After a little over a week I called to see if it was ready. Good thing I did, because i was told it would be ANOTHER week for some reason. When i was finally able to pick up my ring i was charged nearly $80, which seemed exorbitant. But i wanted my ring and blamed myself for assuming the cost would be inline with other jewelers and not inquiring about cost first. So I paid their inflated fee and was given the ring. . .which fit (or, rather, DIDN'T fit) exactly as it had when I brought it to them. When I questioned whether anything had actually been done to the ring they insisted it had, and claimed that I must be 'bloated'. I assured them that I was not bloated and asked if they could make it right. They refused. The entire experience was awful. . .and I have little choice but to come to the conclusion that I was intentionally ripped off, since there was no willingness to make it right. I will never give them my business again and will tell anyone and everyone who asks to steer clear of them as well. read more

Sincere but incompetent. Took 2 watches in for battery replacement. Omega watch returned with stem so tight it could barely be turned. Took it to another jeweler for a $140 stem replacement due to the back being improperly secured. Movato watch returned with only 2 of the 4 back screws replaced...and the 2 were not Movato screws. Had to return the watch to Movato for repair and still don't know how much this repair will cost. Simple battery replacement at Leonard's has been very expensive. read more

How fun is this GEM for a local business!!! I am from Colorado. Went in while visiting friends in Illinois. Needed a watch for my husband. Bonnie was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Put some diamond earrings on my wish list at Leonard's! High quality not like any other retail store. Their diamonds look like authentic diamonds! Love everything in this store! Very friendly and accommodating staff. Have done multiple bracelets for us over the past month of varying types. Very fast work and when we had a minor problem they took care of it very quickly (literally within 2 hours) with no issue. I recently damaged my beautiful wedding ring and thought I'd end up having to have it replaced. After having to go to the jeweler my insurance company worked with I was so discouraged with their customer service and lack of options. Long story short, I went to see Bonnie at Leonard's and she knew how upset I was and understood that I wanted MY ring repaired not replaced. She promised me she could do just that. She was able to tell me how my ring would be repaired, what would make it stronger, and reassured me of how happy I would be. I picked up my ring today and cried! Truly- tears of just pure happiness! My ring is so beautiful! I showed my husband and he is so impressed! He agrees it looks amazing and can't believe it's the same ring!
