The store has a personality, its pretty quirky and I'd say (after working there for several years) that a sitcom based on this place just might work. (Oh the stories). They are genuine and honest folks who enjoy what they do and treasure the relationships that have been built over time and generations. I think the store is worth a look, as the Cullen's various interests and travels have brought some interesting pieces into the store. And there is definitely a mesmerizing collection of estate and antique jewelry (always my favorites). Oh and important to mention --- the store does not jack up prices like the chains do. I was standing in front of one of the cases looking at some ordinary & overpriced bracelets when she felt the need to stand right in front of me & open the display drawer in front of me saying she "had to get a charm out." Really? At the exact second?? We were the only people in the store, so it's not as if she was opening it for someone else. Good news for us, we were warmly welcomed at every other store on the block & we quickly dropped ~ $500. As a long time Glencoe resident, it's disappointing to have a merchant with such petty behavior in our village & I couldn't be happier to shop at Hudson & Grace, Valentina & The Black Sheep General Store.

She was kind and patient with me, and explained to me a lot about engagement rings and diamonds. I kept shopping at different places and seeing different settings, but I never found the one that checked all of the boxes. But Olga stood out from all of the other jewelers that I was visiting, and I went back to visit her several times. We were able to put together a custom made engagement ring for less than some of the settings I saw at other places. She brought in some center stones that I was able to compare and pick from, and her pricing and selection was significantly better than loose diamonds I was seeing at online retailers. The ring looks fantastic, and I couldn't be happier. I'm really happy with the price that I paid for what I got. The ring looks fabulous on my fiancée's finger, and she gets compliments all the time from people who saw that ring sparkle from across the room. I can't thank Olga enough for working with me, her patience, and her no pressure sales approach. She explained things in great detail and answered my questions, no matter how ridiculous some of my questions were! Her and the Bella Cosa team knocked it out of the park, and I can't thank them enough!

When I called to find out what happened they eagerly offered to sell me 9 additional rings to get me to the 12 I was expecting. They were not willing to reimburse their shipping to me nor my cost to return ship to them although their representative acknowledged the mistaken item description was their fault!
