While they refunded the repair fee, they have refused to provide reimbursement for the loss of my property. Instead, they attempted to substitute a random replacement watch from their inventory, which I declined. My original items--one of which held significant sentimental value--were not interchangeable. More concerning is their handling of the claim: The shipment was insured for $600, which matched the verbal appraisal provided by their associate prior to authorizing the repair, yet they attempt to minimize the value after the fact I was informed by FedEx that their claim was denied, and they have not provided a clear explanation or supporting documentation Responsibility has been deflected rather than addressed, leaving me no choice but to pursue legal remedies At no point did I control the shipping, carrier, or insurance--this was entirely managed by their business, despite all shipping costs being passed on to the customer. The loss occurred while the watches were in their custody, yet they have not taken full accountability. Losing a customer's property is serious. Failing to resolve it fairly is unacceptable. They returned my watch to me in a working condition BUT two month later it stopped working AGAIN. I was there during a sidewalk sale, and they had $2 costume jewelry out front; a seasonal red/white/blue display, and vintage purses / hats in addition to jewelry. Jewelry is arranged by type; there's a large selection of pearls; dozens of cameos; and, when I was there, a large display of Bakelite and other vintage plastic bangles (with a magazine article on how not all vintage plastic jewelry is Bakelite). Some southwest/turquoise; a bunch of diamonds; lots of colored stones; and even some enamel pieces. If you don't see what you're looking for, ask; I wanted to see amber and they brought out a bunch, and they also had additional mourning jewelry in the back. The people serving me were very helpful, finding bracelets in my size, helping with tricky catches, etc. and they knew their stuff (what era jewelry was from; no, we don't have jet but we have bog oak...). Several customers were obviously regulars; one approached me out of nowhere to tell me how good the staff were to deal with. Prices are very reasonable; I was very pleased with the vast selection, spent less on a couple of pieces than I expected, and went home with some treasures. This is on the main street right next to the Catlow theater; there is street parking and 1 hour and 3 hour unmetered parking a block away at the Jewel.
