Leonardtown Ford helped me find an awesome vehicle. It was time for me to get a new vehicle but didn't really know what I wanted. This would be my first purchase without my parents so I was nervous, especially buying a used vehicle. The employees at Leonardtown Ford were great with helping me find which options were essential then found me a vehicle to match. It's been a little over a year and everything is going well. I did have an issue with "wheel hopping", and the service department helped me figure out what was causing the issue. After a few adjustments things are much better (thank goodness I bought warranty!). They also explained gap insurance to me. I love my vehicle so much and hope nothing ever happens because I don't think I could find anything as perfect, but if something does happen, I know I'll have enough money to find a good replacement. I'd never heard of gap insurance but I feel better knowing I got it. After everything was finalized, the employees at Leonardtown Ford took the time to explain all of the vehicles features - as I had never had many of them. For example, they explained the lane detection and brake assist. They also helped me sync my phone. I'd say my favorite features now are the reverse camera and blind spot monitoring. It's hard to write a perfect review about a car dealership because they need to make money while giving you the best deal possible. I chose 5 stars because the employees at Leonardtown Ford were helpful and knowledgeable. They would definitely be on my list of dealerships to visit when buying my next car. read more

They were happy to take my $2500+ but order was not processed successfully until one week following the three month expiration. My past recommendation of this auto repair side to the dealership is withdrawn This service center had been my "go-to" for 31 years (since 1994). The previous front desk staff were always professional, easy to work with, and--most importantly--trustworthy. Unfortunately, the new front desk team is a different story: untrained, borderline hostile, and careless when it comes to customer safety. Here's what happened during my most recent visit: * Low brake fluid was noted, but instead of properly diagnosing the cause, the tech told me, "We didn't want to overfill it and have it all over the engine compartment." In reality, my brakes were worn well beyond Ford's safe limits--yet they were marked "green/good to go" on the inspection. My safety (and yours) clearly didn't matter. * Tire pressure was wrong on all four tires--2-3 PSI below spec--and all valve stem caps were corroded and frozen in place. This was also marked "green/good to go" on their checklist. I had to pay over $250 for parts and labor to replace them. Again, safety ignored. * Engine cover bolts were missing when I checked under the hood later. The cover doesn't need to be removed for an oil change, so there's no reason it should have been loose--yet I now have to spend $12 to replace the hardware. After decades of loyalty, my recommendation for this service center is withdrawn--permanently. I will never bring my car here again, and this experience means I will also never purchase a vehicle from this dealership. Good luck, sales department. Steer clear. We sold a car to them before we moved. We had everything but the lien release. We obtained the lien release, sent it to them registered mail. They have had the car for 23 days-yet they have yet to send us the payment for the car. We have made many, many phone calls to this dealership. They are apathetic and full of excuses (gotta ask accounting, the guy you dealt with was on vacation, etc...they act as if "accounting" is in another state). Yesterday, I called again-WHERE'S OUR CHECK??? I got a Brian Wood on the phone. He was a whiner and he insulted me so many times I hung up on him. His excuse?? "We never received your lien release, so obviously you never sent it." When I told him I sent it via registered mail...on the 12th (it's the 23rd today), he sneered, "well, we didn't get anything from you-we would have signed it, don't you think??" At first I thought highly of this dealership having had a used Camry delivered to my home in Arlington VA after finding it online and the salesman was very courteous. But since the purchase two months ago, I have been waiting for the long promised (even by the sales manager) VA tags for the car, and never received paperwork electronically or (even hard copies) as promised by the salesperson who delivered it to me. The temporary tags expire in 2 days, forcing me to go back to the bus next week until the situation is rectified. Okay so maybe 2 ish weeks ago i went there for recall parts on my car and figured while i was there i would also get a state inspection. No big deal right? Well, my car failed, a few minor issues and then also a big issue, multiple parts of my emissions needed to be replaced/fixed i was even told i didnt even HAVE parts of my emission sections.... 2 weeks go by and i'm still struggling to find the pieces i need to fix these issues because I'm not going to pay the dealership prices for these issues. Spoke to a few people and was informed that SMC doesn't even have emission regulations! I wasted 2 weeks trying to get this shit sorted out for nothing! Went somewhere else and he pointed out ACTUAL issues on my car that were literally safety issues that if anything had happened (which it was just a matter of time) could have had serious complications the dealership never mentioned or had written on the inspection sheet. Not a single word was mentioned about any part of my emissions on the new inspection. Thank god for return policies because that was absolutely a waste of time. read more

I definitely would give negative stars if i could. I have always been ford all the way from my mustangs to trucks but I wish the service center was like the one in Georgia. I will say the cashiers and office personnel are on point!! They are great and I would give them 20 stars if i could. That being said, now to the terrible experiences and us never coming back to this ford in Leonardtown. I will definitely send my complaints to the main ford facility as well. When we moved here to Maryland we started using Leonardtown Ford for our services and repairs. I can do my own oil changes and maintenance but I have always enjoyed coming in looking at new vehicles while I wait. The first time was when the service center tried to sell a bunch of nonsense when my wife came in and they were extremely rude to her. I explained a known tailgate issue that ford has with its trucks and informed them of the damaged caused by the automatic tailgate release just dropping while driving. The service guy did not want to listen to my wife when she brought it in for the recall and began to argue with her about the damage to the tailgate when I already explained this in detail when I brought it in for service. We happened to be towing a trailer when the tailgate dropped while on the highway. At the time he told me that they can not cover the damage until a recall was issued to that particular part of the system. The next incident is one of their mechanics does not know the difference from a side marker and a parking light. I get this huge speech about how he has 20 plus years in the business and decided to fail that portion of the inspection. Don't get me wrong, I'm cool with fixing what requires fixing, but you mean to tell me that a 2017 extremely well kept mustang that had never seen snow until a few days ago that gets serviced at this dealership failed an inspection???? WOW.... They did want me to get all the repairs done there and change out that would cost over1200 bucks not including labor of course....smh. I understand that covid has hit alot of companies but to try to hit me in the wallet and argue with me about design features on the mustang is really low!! As the years go by, the side marker design is definitely been different on the mustang depending on what type of light fixtures is being mounted on that particular series. The location was different for my 2014 as well as my 2006 not to mention my 2017 and to argue with a customer about their own vehicles to try to make a quick buck is ridiculous. I tried to explain in detail to the mechanic and I guess if you have 20 plus years of experience you don't have to explain your ignorance to any customers and it's your way or the highway right?? My parking lights are in the front location where if you step to the side of the car you will not see them because it is the design of the 2017, but on that same side you will see the amber lenses on the actual headlights assembly because that is where ford put the amber front side marker. Purchased 2011 Toyota Highlander December 2021. All the Guarantees were listed and promised by the dealer such as passed inspection xx point inspection etc, and 30 days warranty and suggested extended warranty. The car was delivered and on the first day service warning light was on only to find out the dealer installed two non OEM tire pressure monitors on front left and right tires that their mechanics could not program. After persistent pursuit on my part they could not find the problem and work a arrangement with Toyota of Waldorf to solve the problem. This is a potential safety hazards if driven for an extended time and would not have passed any state inspection in Maryland. March 2024 my wife drove to transport my grandson to school and heard a noise during that trip and heard a noise. I asked her to take the SUV to our local service shop, and the service manager reported the front shocks were worn badly. Call Leonardtown ford again only to find out the extended warranty that we paid for was canceled by Leonardtown Ford and it took them well over 2 days to find the problem. This experience took a great deal of research. This dealership exercised poor customer service, poor transactions with warranty and payment transactions and extremely poor judgment service to the public. From a retired Veteran point of view this is the absolute worst car dealership experience I have experience in my life. This customer will spread the word across the military community to ensure our service to the country is appreciated. Bought a 52'000 mustang off their show room... had a dent in it took it to them to fix the dent 2 days later they totaled my car by drilling threw my door jam... well then I got a bad vibration in the car around 4K miles took it back they said nothing was wrong with it... took to my buddies shop in laplata jacked it up the wheel fel and inch drove it right back too then had to tell them the problem then they fixed it... picked my car up the next day the same hun bearing starts clicking at takeoffs... tried for too weeks to get my car taken down their and no answer ... finally get my car down their yesterday and once again they tell me nothing is wrong with it...... I purchased a Pre Owned Mountaineer from Leonardtown Ford in 2004 and the experience was great. I never had problems getting it serviced. I recently purchased a Pre Owned Chevy HHR from Leonardtown and have gotten nothing but the runaround since late June/early July. The FOBs quit working, I can't open the drivers door from the inside and my gear shifter sticks. When I purchased this vehicle I was told I had an additional warranty to cover for 36K more miles then the original warranty and this evidently is NOT the case. I have stopped and spoken with the Used Car Manager with the response that they will get back in touch with me. I have emailed on 7 different occasions and the only response I get is from a automated email from Travis Ashline saying the information I requested on purchasing a vehicle is attached. First, I don't want another vehicle, I just want the one I purchased fixed. I have gotten the runaround for 5 months and at this point, their new commercial of being the New Improved Leonardtown Ford means they will just sell the cars and won't back up their word. Unfortunately things did not go well for me.  I sent in a pre-qualifying offer from Capital One for a vehicle. The salesman Bryan Wood responded that the vehicle was available and he had received the qualifying offer and if I could come in.  Well it is was 5:30PM Saturday and he said that the dealership closed at 6PM.  I live in Waldorf no way I was going to make it down there in time, so I informed him since they were closed Sunday, I would come either Monday or Tuesday and that it was a possibility I could come as soon as Monday afternoon.  He said OK.  I emailed him Sunday evening informing him I would be there Monday at 1PM.  He responded back at 9AM Monday morning, that he would see me then.  So I went about my day. I drove down there only to find out that he had sold the car that morning.  He sent me an email at 10:30AM stating he had sold it which I didn't see because I was working and not expecting him to sell it after the conversation. I find this to be bad business and poor customer service.  So from the time he confirmed the appointment with me at 9:06AM to10:30AM, he sold it!  No courtesy of even contacting me to say hey I have someone interested could you come earlier?  Nothing.  I used to work in sales and I never did that to a potential customer.  Give me the common courtesy of a phone call or something.  I understand that you guys can't hold vehicles but at least give me a chance to say, no I can't come go ahead or yes I can come, on my way.  I would have been able to come earlier if I knew it was in danger of being sold that morning.  I emailed the general manger about what happened and did not receive a response. I have purchased a vehicle and used this dealer for years of service. Although I dont know that the car buying experience (now years ago) was that different than anywhere else I will say that the service department is absolutely top notch. I use them frequently and I do not think I have ever had a service experience anywhere as good as I do here. The folks at Leonardtown Ford are professional and honest. I know when I take my truck there its in good hands. My first worry with servicing vehicles in the past has always been cost. This is a place where I feel comfortable that there are no crazy markups, no "additional" items that appear on the bill. Its all up front and fair in my opinion. I also like that they use the internet and your e-mail for updates to your vehicles status. If you have a Ford and need something fixed, I highly recommend you give them a call. read more

It bothers me to write this--the same sentiment I told Terry, the service mgr, when told that my rims, that are not the normal rims that came with my pckg when I bought it brand-new, were scratched after installing 4 new tires. I could have went to a tire establishment, and I should have after what my brothers told me about dealerships ruining plenty of rims, but I thought Leonardtown Ford has been really good to me before with basic stuff, so why not keep trusting them? Nonetheless, they told me to take pictures before. I did. I had my son wash the rims the day before I brought the car in for tire replacements. Afterwards, I called and made the complaint. After I explained all this to the service manager, he actually made a notion, almost accusingly, of why would l take pictures? I just told him why. He said he wasn't going to do anything until he sees them and he wanted me to email the pictures to him. I sent him two (2) emails with absolultely no reply, in which I replied again. Nothing.. I was waiting for a bring-them-in, like we agreed but he didn't even have the professionalism to respond. This tells me the level of customer service Leonardtown has and if I have to deal with this in the future, I'll take my business elsewhere and will make this review on every app I can and will. Service mgrs like him are all good on the outside but inside, stay away from. I've seen wolves in sheep clothing better than this and I'm glad I will never make the mistake of trusting a dealership, let alone L-towns, no matter how long I've been going there. Now, I can either pay for the damage (like I want rusted scratched rims when I bought them brandnew off the lot, never been damaged, first time all-4-tire-replacements) or he could have at least looked at them to take on the damage costs, like it was warranted, and like they couldn't afford it. Very pleased with my vehicle purchase from Leonardtown Ford. I shopped at every Ford dealer in Southern MD and Leonardtown Ford was the only dealer I felt comfortable and relaxed and not under any pressure to buy now. Every other local Ford dealer treated me like a subject in their kingdom and played those silly sales tactic games which just make me angry and frustrated. Most importantly the deal I negotiated was the price I paid. Actually I paid slightly less. There were no smoke and mirrors and confusing inverted numbers like most other dealers when it came time to pay. I went to this dealer to purchase a 2013 Fusion Hybrid. They told me that the car I wanted was available and to bring in my car for the trade in and they would get the car from "up the road". I had also got a loan for the balance based on the VIN number they had given me. When I arrived at the dealer, they said that the car was suddenly unavailable but I could buy another car they had on the lot. Talk about bait and switch! While I was driving home from this Ford dealer, their sister dealership in Waldorf Maryland called and said they had the car I wanted was available. When they faxed me the window sticker, it was the same car. After a few more calls it turns out that this car with the VIN number I was promised, was sitting in an other owner's garage. It had been sold before I was given the first VIN number by Leonardtown Ford. I'll never own a Ford purchased from this or any other Ford dealer. If you can't trust Ford Motor Company's computer to know where their cars are, how can you trust their computer driven automobiles. read more

If I could give this review ZERO stars I would! The customer service at the used car lot is terrible! They lead me to believe my car was financed by Ford Motor Credit and everything was okay. I received several denial letters in the mail from different banks and I didn't know why. Needless to say 45 days later I hadn't received anything regarding payment or the sale of the car in the mail so I contacted Ford Motor Credit and they told me I was never approved. I contacted my salesman and the finance manager and they assured me that I was being financed by Educational Federal Credit Union. I called Educational Federal Credit Union and they had no record of any sort of me being approved. While I was on the phone guess who called? Yup Leonardtown Ford trying to get me approved. They called me back into the dealership to sign a "45 day payment extention contract " which was another crooked contract. They are very shady and dishonest! I will NEVER and I mean NEVER do business with LEONARDTOWN FORD again! read more

I stopped into Leonardtown Ford because I had done business with them in the past and I met with Saleswoman, Jessica. Jessica was just as nice and confident as she can be with her sales skills, which was great! I told her I wanted to trade my Ford in. Although, at the time, I wanted a truck she and the manager were showing me other options. I left to talk over my options with family. I decided just to wait. I went on their website and located a truck that I liked and I reached out to Jesscia and Brad. Brad was going to work on the numbers for me. Brad called me and stated he found a better truck. Great, I said, work the numbers for that truck. After days of waiting - I heard nothing! They failed me as a repeat customer! Apparently, they did not want my return business. It's just as well. I am actually glad that I do not have to deal with them any longer. I did not have a good expereince using their dealership to have my car serviced. Always remember there are other dealerships otu there and one that will treat you with the utmost respect and care because they want your business! I do not recommend Leonardtown Ford. read more
