Leon's Caribbean did that. The oxtails were perfectly tender and seasoned to absolute perfection fall-off-the-bone goodness. The rice and beans were flavorful and cooked just right, and the cabbage? By far the best seasoned cabbage I've had yet hands down. What really made the experience even better was the service. The owner was there during my first visit, and on my second visit, his son made my plate both times the service was warm, welcoming, and genuine. It was so good I came back again just two days later for another plate, and I'd do it again without hesitation. Amazing food, great service, and real family vibes. If you're craving authentic Caribbean comfort food done right, Leon's Caribbean is a must. I'll definitely come back during my next visit from California.

So glad I decided to give Leon's a try while visiting the brewery next door. This small restaurant has a large menu of hot and ready foods that can be packed up for you to enjoy within 2 minutes. I went with the platter of jerk chicken and two sides and spent a little under $20. The chicken is still on the bone and is fall apart tender. The jerk sauce is no joke! It definitely has some heat. The greens were good and had a little kick themselves. The mac and cheese was creamy, but not wet, and had the right pint of cheese pull with every bite. The guys working behind the counter were very friendly and helpful in suggesting what to get for first timers.

It's a small family owned restaurant. You know the food is great when it's tasty when hot and when you take a bite of the leftover the next day while it's good, the flavor is still packing punch. Come get your tastebuds razzle dazzled. It was such a big hearty meal. Congrats if you finish your food. They serve a LOT. Everything was everything I wanted, the jerk chicken, oxtail, pepper steak and collard greens. The beans and rice with all the sauces mixed in is to DIE for.

Food is always good. When ordering via a delivery service there just needs to be consistency. For extra gravy there is an up charge, but you really can't tell if they provided this as everything is just put in the main food container. I suggest that extra sauce be placed on the side to show that it was provided. Also, there were times where I received bread with my meal and other times I have not. Food quality is always good and tastes great. My only other tip would be to minimize the random broken bones in the curry chicken.

This food was everything amazing when I say I couldn't stop eating till the last drop these oxtails with the gravy and the rice the mac & cheese the greens. I didn't leave anything left on my plate. I would definitely be back before I go back to Louisiana.

SERVICE: Staff were helpful, professional, and nice. Purchased from their food truck during a First Friday event in Penn Hills. Prices were fine. FOOD: I recently returned from Jamaica and their seasoning/heat was different than what Leon offers. Yes. I ate at different places, on and off the resort as I prefer to eat and hang with locals. I thought Leon's was too hot, but to each his own and doesn't mean it's bad. I just prefer less heat. Besides the chicken being a bit too hot, the cabbage and plantains were good. I regret not getting a patty, but that gives me an excuse to return. Rice and beans were a bit dry. WELL: I shall return to try other items and am thankful they exist. Go support!

Had an incredible meal from here to go for the first time! We got the Platter for 2 which included your choice of meat and two sides. They were out of mac n cheese (sad) but we had Jerk Chicken (WOW), beans and rice, and cabbage. Everything was so incredible and full of flavor. The service was quick as their set up is right there in front of house and you just tell them what you want! Can't wait to go try more!

A friendly and efficient service. Authentic Caribbean food and delicious!! A must have if you love Caribbean food!! The Jerk is a great amount of heat, but not painfully hot....great sides. You can't go wrong with Leon's....

The menu is short but has enough options for meat and fish lovers of all kinds. Ordering at the counter was easy. We didn't have to wait too long for our food, which we ate there at a small table. He had jerk chicken, and I had jerk whitefish. Everything was delicious, and the portion sizes were so generous that I got two lunches out of my leftovers. Plus, we liked the pineapple soda so much that I picked some up the next time we went shopping. There's a reason Leon's has a reputation for the best Caribbean food in town!

Ordered delivery from here. Had an order of oxtail and jerk chicken. When ordering online we were not informed of not having jerk chicken, plantains, or the mac and cheese sides that were ordered. This was at about 2pm. Not until food was about to be delivered were we called and said we don't have majority of what you ordered. They didn't even tell us they didn't have plantains and didn't put in our order. We were only given the options steamed cabbage and rice and peas as alternatives for the sides and a barbecue like chicken dish. Not sure why they didn't have jerk. During the phone call the person who called us was half having a conversation with us and half having a conversation with whoever else was at the restaurant. The call hung up 3x before we could finally confirm what food was actually being sent to us. When we ultimately got the food my partner and I were not happy with our food. Poorly seasoned, lacked flavor, and did not taste like Caribbean food. I'd try another Caribbean spot before I go back here.

This is my first time having Caribbean food. Wow, wow, wow! I am so surprised that this food was so delicious. It was truly fantastic. Today, I tried out the brown stew chicken, rice and peas, plantains, shredded chicken patty, and a peanut butter crunch dessert. The brown stew chicken was surprisingly flavorful and satisfying. It fell off the bone! This chicken was definitely not white meat, which is what I typically enjoy, but it was definitely quite good. There was a decent amount of meat on the chicken for just $10, and the portion was satisfying. I loved the brown stew sauce! So tasty. There was some fat covering the chicken I had to take off (not too appealing to me), but other than that, very good. I also thought the rice and peas were quite tasty. They once again gave me a good portion. The side came for free with the "Just a Taste" meal. The 'peas' aren't actually peas: they are kidney beans. I recommend soaking up the rice with the stew sauce to make it extra tasty. The cornbread was a nice addition to the meal. It was moist and had a nice, mild but lightly sweet flavor. The chicken patty was a bit spicier than I thought it would be. It seemed to have some sort of sauce inside, too. But, it was flaky and delicious nonetheless. The plantains were near perfect. You definitely have to try them out since they are so cheap (just $2) and you get 4 thick pieces. Perfectly caramelized, great texture, and nice sweetness. The peanut butter crunch pie was a little small especially for it being $4. But, the flavor was great. Chunks of peanuts, chocolate crust, peanut butter whipping, chocolate pieces. Not sure if it was homemade, but way better than many store bought peanut butter pies. All in all, this was a great place to first try Caribbean cuisine. I loved almost everything I got and the portions as well as prices were both reasonable. I'm motivated to start eating this type of food more often!

Our server was excellent and the auxiliary staff were courteous and efficient. We started with a calamari appetizer which was a little spicy but delicious. Beware of the two Thai chilies in the mix! Next my husband had the lobster bisque. It was quite rich with a large chunk of lobster as a garnish. Our main courses were a 10 ounce filet, wild caught shrimp stuffed with crabmeat and Chilean sea bass. Everyone loved their entrees. Our son especially loved the filet, it was so tender. We ordered two side dishes for the table and they were plenty for the three of us. Decadent lobster mashed potatoes and crabmeat fried rice. We shared a dessert, creme brûlée which was topped with fresh berries and served with chewy cocoa snowflake cookies. Overall the food was excellent. Service started out a little rocky. I had made a reservation online and it would only let me choose a high top. We don't like high tops so I called the restaurant a few days before and they assured me they could accommodate us with a regular table, not to worry. Upon entering and giving my name for the reservation, the Maitre D'être said it's for a high top. I explained that I'd called and we didn't want a high top. He said he could only offer us a booth in the lounge, so we took it. The lounge had a jazz trio playing and the music was a bit too loud for comfortable conversation. The server had to talk above the music to be heard by us. Luckily they took a break and when they came back the volume was lower. As we were leaving I noticed there was a whole dining room with empty tables which were NOT high tops. So why did they seat us in the lounge? Our drink orders were pretty simple, however because they serve the cocktails from the shaker, the server mixed up the dinks and poured my husband's margarita into my 'dirty' martini glass. So I had a three blue cheese olive margarita! A margarita-tini! He realized what he did, apologized and ran off to get another margarita for my husband. I had eaten the olives and tasted the margarita, which was very good. When he returned, he asked if I still wanted the martini and I laughed and said, yes, that what I ordered. So my husband got the benefit of two Margaritas for the price of one and I got three extra blue cheese olives! That was the only goof up. The rest of the meal was flawlessly served. I felt that even though the prices are high, the portion size and the quality of the food provide a good value. You expect to pay more in a place like this. It was well worth it in my opinion. And if you are there during Happy Hour you can choose cocktails and appetizers from the Happy Hour menu which is quite reasonable.

Without a doubt, the worst brunch I've ever had in my life....and it cost me $250 for just two people. The good news is that the food station guys did a good job....omlettes, meat carving, and Bananas Foster for dessert. But that's where the good news ends. The buffet was horrendous. Scrambled eggs and sausages were cold. French toast was burnt on the outside and not fully cooked on the inside. Other than the Bananas Foster, dessert consisted of some fresh berries and 3-4 mini cake slices. That was it. I've had better (much better) at Bob Evans or Denny's. Advertised at $79 per person, a couple of cocktails, tax and tip = $246.00. I had to apologize to my wife, who was being treated to brunch for Mother's Day, for such a disappointing meal. I should mention that recently, we ate a fabulous dinner at Commander's Palace in New Orleans for the same cost and loved every minute of it. So it's not like we don't spend money in restaurants or know a good one from a bad one when we see it. Oh, and I didn't even mention the attire on other guests. Even though Eddie Merlot's has a page on their website dedicated to proper attire, they don't enforce it. I saw workboots soiled with mud, athletic gear, tennis shoes, and more....and that's not the first time I've had that experience at EM's. For a restaurant brand that's built on being upscale fine dining, EM's falls way short of its promise. So that's the last time I'll ever go to any Eddie Merlot's for any meal or occasion....unless someone else is paying.
