I walked there 3 times before I found him open. He wasn't open the day he said my shoes would be ready to pick up. When I finally found him open, my shoes weren't ready. I had to wait 20 minutes until he quickly repaired my shoes. His work was not neat. The stitches didn't look secure but I didn't want to go through the fiasco of leaving my shoes there again. The stitches didn't hold and soon after I used my shoes, it unraveled. He should've paid me $18 for the aggravation I went through.

    Leon awful job

Took a chance on a local small business on getting my leather back pack fixed. I broke one of the handles from wear& tear. Came to Leon's shoe repair asked the owner if could work his magic. He replied with "yes I can. 42 dollars and give me 2 weeks." Thought is was weird that it would take 2 weeks for a simple repair. Nonetheless I said okay, but told him I need it sooner. I have a trip to take and wanted to use the bag. Which he agreed with. As I walked out, that's when I noticed the hours 4:00pm - 8:00pm. I turn back to him and asked if the hours are currant hours and not pandemic hours. He proceeded to tell me it's because he has to be with his son. Which then I smile and said okay. In reality in my mind I was like "fuck I'm never going to see my bag back." But my heart said just wait and see. Came multiple times to pick up my bag, but the store was closed. Finally gave a call to what number is listed. Leon told me he would be at the shop by 4:30. I came in to pick up my bag. Catching Leon walking out the door. Telling me give him 30 mins and he will be done. Came back within an hour time. Bag was still not done. Told him that it was okay. Asked for my bag back and 42 dollars back. Leon got very upset and started to speak in Spanish. Maybe thinking I don't speak Spanish but I'm Latino. Saying things like " he wants to take my money" " I knew not to accept this bag" then speaking me in English saying " you paid me for a service and I'm going to give too you." Very aggressively. Told him not to, it's cool. He won't let my bag go..and started going in on my broken handle. What took him less then 15 min. He quoted me 2 weeks. He finished and gave me awful job. He stitched into the leather inappropriate damaging the bag. Overlapped fabric and leather parts. He thought that was okay. I asked for my money back only getting 40 back. NEVER COMING BACK. Trust or instinct.

Leon repaired my boots to perfection after I had worn them out in the blizzard. Look no further for shoe repairs.

The bag had severely worn leather, cracked handles, no shoulder strap, and decades of wear. I visited several places and did a lot of research before trusting Pete's with it. From the moment I walked in, I felt like they genuinely cared about preserving the integrity of the bag rather than just replacing everything. They explained exactly what needed to be restored, what could be preserved, and why. They even kept the original Louis Vuitton hardware whenever possible, which was very important to me. The craftsmanship is exceptional. Every piece of leather was beautifully replaced, the stitching is precise, the bag was professionally cleaned and conditioned, and they even custom-made a matching shoulder strap for me. The finished bag looks incredible while still maintaining the character of a true vintage Louis Vuitton. The turnaround time was about six weeks, and every day was worth the wait. For anyone considering restoring a luxury handbag instead of replacing it, I cannot recommend Pete's Cobbler's Bench enough. Their attention to detail, honesty, and craftsmanship exceeded my expectations. They brought a beautiful piece of Louis Vuitton history back to life, and I couldn't be happier with the result. Thank you, Pete and your team, for treating my bag as if it were your own.

Not only was the woman behind the counter so friendly and polite, she was helpful. A few days later, she showed me the dress, and it looked fixed. When I arrived home to try it on, I could tell she did wonders. While the price I paid in the end was not the one she initially quoted, I was ok with paying slightly more as it involved fixing the hem and pleats of the bottom half of a dress as well as potentially adjusting the side seams where the pockets were. Additionally, she did caveat that she might not be able to fix the dress so I appreciated her upfront-ness. And so for the last two months, I have trekked to Farragut Square, greeting the folks behind the front desk and walking into the quaint space that is Barr Cleaners where the woman greets me by name and asks when I need my items. She is always flexible and can turn the items around within a day or two, if it's not a lot. Most of the times, I tell her she can take her time, and even still, it's only a couple of days, and I'm ok with that. The most recent dress I brought in clearly showed wear, and when I asked if she could take care of it, she smiled and said in her cute way, "No problem." Prices are a little pricey, but the service is worth it in my opinion.

I left a review, received a call that I would receive a refund and they would pay for the $300 vest. Of course neither happened so here I am.

However, I want to flag a pricing issue for others. Before bringing in the items, I called and was quoted approximately $7-$10 per pair. At drop-off, the pricing presented was $22-$30 per pair. I raised the discrepancy immediately, but was told the prior quote was incorrect and no adjustment or accommodation was offered. I proceeded given the number of items already in hand, but followed up again afterward and was not able to reach a resolution. If you plan to use this shop, I would strongly recommend confirming pricing in writing before proceeding, particularly for multiple items. Sharing this so others can make informed decisions.

He and the woman behind the counter were trading news. I needed a complete wheel replacement and asked about them fixing the collapsible handle that had started getting stuck. The cost for just the handle, oh my! I really appreciate that they didn't waste more than five minutes of my time. I didn't feel like they wanted any of my business though.
