They have brick ovens that reach 1000 degrees Fahrenheit, and master pizza bakers. The pizza is fresh, has an in house marinara sauce, and fresh mozzarella. I had the 10" Margherita pizza, and it was divine. Chewy crust with just the right amount of char, fresh, bright sauce, basil so fresh it was minty, and delicious mild mozzarella. We also had the cheese bread, which was fantastic. Topped the meal off with Tahitian vanilla gelato, which was made with real cream. Service was fantastic, and Covid precautions were in place. People who gave Leopoldo's less than five stars, this is authentic Neapolitan pizza. Stick with Domino's or Pizza Hut if you can't handle the real thing! read more

Leo's used to be my favorite place to eat on the square. Paid $20 for a large pepperoni and pineapple pizza to go. When we got home the pizza toppings looked a little dismal, was sad to see how greasy and soggy it was. Took a bite and realized they put no sauce on it! When I called the manager offered to refund $5 or we could drive back to the square in the pouring rain for them to make it again. Don't bother going here any longer. Downtown Carrollton is really a cool spot to eat, I really enjoy coming here. Leopoldo's pizza has a great atmosphere. I really do enjoy the self-serve tap! Because who wants to wait around for your beer to get filled. I do believe this is a genius idea, but! they need to get more taps on that wall. Music is decent, the lighting is a little dark, but they have large windows so that helps. I really cant understand why this place gets a bad wrap. I am a pizza connoisseur, and this is the type of pizza I like. Hey, I am from South New Jersey and thin slice pizza is where its at. I know good pizza when I taste it, and actually I meant to take a picture but I ate it so fast I forgot. So if you don't like this type of pizza and would rather eat thick-chewy-GMO dough, then go to Dominos or those other American chains that makes America obese. Sometimes the use of technology can really improve our lives. Diner at this establishment is not one of those times. The auto ID scanner seemingly innocuous guard against fake ID's in a college town is actually a big time info racket where the ID company sells your ID and purchasing history to information brokers who then recoup thier costs by passing it on to law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and other companies. The second big techo blunder is the self serve bar. It provides no value to the customer being that now I have to get up and serve my own beer, plus its deceptive to anyone with bad eyesite. $0.50 seems like a great deal until you realize its per oz and your about to pour an $8 pint. You also better hope the keg isn't foamy. All in all I'm sure the owner wasn't malicious in any of this he just realized that complex self pour beer systems are easy ways to get dumb drunk college kids to spend their parents money at his establishment, and the cheap Id software is a good safeguard against fines from local governing bodies. Last night our experience was even better because of the friendly and professional service provided by Ms. Kaitlyn! Fridays are to celebrate the hard worked week and the weekend that's just starting and Ms. Kaitlyn made that possible by greeting us right when we got there offering us drinks, provided great customer service by offering us an option to have what the 2 kids wanted to share on their pizza in a way that pleased everyone, never let us without a cold drink, didn't forget our ranch to go with the pizza that was perfectly cooked! Sometimes because restaurants are busy customer service is not great as our food takes forever to come, it comes cold for being sitting there for too long, drinks are not refilled, none of that happened last night! The pizza is Awesome, nearly melts in your mouth. I gave 4 because of the great tasting food, but the scoring for everything else isn't quite so good!! For one, be careful when you order online, and when going to pick up your order make sure you check your food before you walk away from the counter, nearly every single time you get your order, it's almost always wrong!! That's the truth, for us anyway. Maybe we are just unlucky, or perhaps they don't like our name or something, lol. But to be honest, our experiences with Leopoldo's in the past are nearly all pleasant and satisfying when we come and dine inside the establishment, opposed to ordering online or by phone, It does really seem, and is no doubt, by what we've witnessed as though you are getting less for your money, often sloppy made, and/or unevenly done pizza's, & less toppings, cheese, sauce, smaller and/or thinner dough, etc.. it is as though when the pizza's are being made, by the looks & outcome that the attitude of the preparers must be the devil may care, but the biggest thing that bothers us is that they never get our online order correct!! Like earlier this evening we got one 14' inch prosciutto pizza, and one 14' inch supreme pizza, total order came to almost $43.00 we got the prosciutto pizza okay, but the supreme ended up as a meat lover's pizza my wife doesn't really like a bunch of meat, but anyway it is almost always something like what I've described above, from this establishment, how in the world can they keep getting it wrong all the time? Once is ok, and even again, uh okay, well alright, but yall tighten up guys, we are still onboard, but nearly every single time is some kind of problem or it is incorrect, well maybe it's time to jump ship huh? I came to visit my friend from back home for dinner, and had such a unpleasant experience. Starting with the waitress, Jessy, who seemed passive aggressive and dismissive. I ordered the Chicken Florentine, very unseasoned tasted like nothing. I asked if could change it to something else, I then went with the Veggie Panini, also very unseasoned forced myself to eat one slice. Everything I've tried here is full of flavor and more like what we experienced in Italy than the typical American-Italian joints. We had the portabella pizza, which was very delicious. The crust was the perfect thickness, not too heavy or too thin. They didn't over do it on the Alfredo sauce, which I find a lot of pizza places do. The mushrooms and onions were perfectly cooked, and they top it with fresh mozzarella and truffle oil. The prices are reasonable and the service was good. If you like beer, they have a beer wall where you just pay a flat price and you get unlimited beer. First let me say that Leopoldo's is, hands down, the best Italian food in our fair little city. We have another "mom and pop" shop and a few chains, but nothing touches the crust of the pizza, the homemade Alfredo and pastas (and I mean from scratch). However, what good is awesome food if you never get it? We walked in at about 6:30 on a Monday evening. There were two of us initially and we waiting for the other two. We were not greeted by anyone although there was someone behind the bar. The waitress was also the hostess and came out to tell us to sit anywhere. Since there was only one other table filled in the restaurant, that worked out ok. We sat down, ordered drinks and an app and waited for the others. About 10 minutes later our drinks (waters), and the anti-pasta were hurriedly dropped at our table. Unfortunately, the other guests at our table were completely ignored. This went on for about another 10 minutes. Again, there was only one table with people. As we were looking for our waitress/hostess, the bartender came out and sat down near us with her dinner and started eating. Now, before you think me insensitive, all workers should have time to eat. By this time we were 20 minutes into our friends arriving and no one was serving us. We got up to leave and were explained to that "the bartender doesn't have floor responsibilities." Our response was, "you all work for Leopoldos". Again - good food but they need to up their service drastically. read more

One of the best places in Carrollton! My boyfriend and I come here regularly. I love that you can watch the pizza chef work his magic through the open stone oven kitchen concept. Also the light fixtures are a nice touch. Food-wise, we're obsessed with the BBQ pulled pork pizza. For a week, that's the only thing my boyfriend was craving. The golden BBQ sauce is mouthwatering and I wish there was more of it. The pasta is delicious also. My boyfriend always gets the spaghetti carbonara. The egg cream sauce makes it unique and wonderful. Creamy with nice textural crunch from the bacon. It was so delicious that he devoured it in 5 minutes of it being served. I had the Chef's special pasta of the week called the Italian flag. It's a creamy dish of grilled chicken, basil, and cherry tomatoes perfectly covered in Alfredo sauce. Loved this place but recently I've been very disappointed! I ordered a spinach pizza to go and normally when they bring it out to you they show you inside the box but they did not. Without checking the pizza before I left, I went home with a dark burnt pizza. I then came back to Leopoldo's to ask for a new pizza and they proceeded to say "what's wrong with it"!
