I'll break this down- Selection: 4. Rather expansive menu for a diner. Something for everyone. Quality: 3-3.5. Pretty good. Again, for a diner, its pretty good. Service: 1. It's bad. Very bad. I literally went there 4 times after discovering it, including with 9 co-workers that I brought over to show it off. It was after the last time the service became noticeably... lacking. Of course, upon noting our concern, the owner wanted to play 20 questions. I will never be as presumptuous as going full Pretty Woman on a business, but I am as loyal as a dog and as the resident fat guy, I push a fair amount of business to places worth it. Skip this place and just go to Gritz. The food is comparable- Leo has a more diverse menu. However the quality of the prep and end result leans slightly in Gritz favor. And the service is a slam dunk for Gritz. read more

I would give zero stars if allowed. Walked in just over 30 mins before close since we saw it as we were driving by and it had good reviews. I'm a restaurant manager so if I go somewhere 30 mins before close it is with the intention to be in and out by close. I was glared at by one server as we sat down. Ordered unsweetened tea and was informed sorry we are out for the day. In my restaurant we don't "run out" of staple items just because we are closing in 30 mins...we make sure our guests are served 30 mins or even 5 mins to close the same way as when we first open. We decided to step outside our typical Waffle House breakfast box and try something new...not that there's anything wrong with WH, mind you... My husband read so many positive Yelp! reviews about Leo's Cafe and suggested we go there. (Mind you, I had mentioned this place to him months ago...) We got there around 10 a.m. on a Sunday morning. Understandably, it was packed. But the wait time was very short, as the staff quickly cleared tables as they became available. They're on top of their game with their hustle. The menu....oh, my!....is very expansive with savory and sweet options. Omelets of all descriptions, French toast, pancakes, old faithfuls like bacon, eggs, grits, home fries... healthy and incredibly decadent. "If you can't find something you like on this menu, you can't find it anywhere," My Mr. said. He was right. Only problem is narrowing it down. Our order came out fast and hot. He had a steak omelet that looked scrumptious, and he declared it was. He loved the home fries, too. I had been craving French toast, but I also wanted something savory. An egg, order of bacon and hash browns rounded out my order. The toast was good and sweet and lightly dusted with confectioners' sugar. I was a little disappointed with the bacon because it was too crisp for my taste (Note to self: Order medium done bacon next time.) And, I was a little disappointed that the hash browns were the frozen patties, not the grated kind like WH. So, home fries next time... We found out that Leo himself welcomed us and put our name on the waiting list. He also checked with us several times to ensure everything was o.k. That is great. Our server was also attentive. We watched as diners left and tables were immediately cleared for the next round. Yeah, we are going back. Because I really want the Maryland crab cakes Benedict. I mean, seriously.... Sometimes it's good to step outside your comfortable, predictable box. And tasty, too. read more

I'm not a reviewer, I'm just never inspired enough to take the time to write my own reviews, merely a consumer of others reviews to base my dining decisions on. During a trip to Atlanta, we were forced to stop for the night in McDonough. Being unable to drink the acidic hotel coffee and a reasonable breakfast that didn't come from hotel powdered eggs, Yelpers recommended Leo's and I'm so glad that they did. Guys, this place is phenomenal - their omelets are amazing, and the service was on point. One guy running the kitchen and another running service - that's it. No fluff. Simply good food, with great service, and apparently it still exists! read more

Probably the best breakfast in Mcdonough. I can't speak for their lunch menu, as I've never had it. But this is my go to spot for Sunday breakfast. I order the hangover omelette, and I've had it a few times. Each time, it's amazing and never disappoints. Paired with a cup of coffee, Leo's always sets a positive tone to my day. On top of amazing food, the staff is always on top of things, making sure the food is out quickly and the coffee mug is never empty. Overall, Leo's is an awesome restaurant. read more

I came in here in hopes of having amazing breakfast food and great service. I definitely got the amazing food, however the service was horrible. My date and I arrived and were seated and given menus and waters. Then we sat..... and sat..... and sat..... with our menus and water. After about 20 minutes we finally were asked if we knew what we wanted to order. After 20 minutes I could tell them everything they had on the menu! I ordered the corn beef hash with scrambled eggs and pancakes. I was nervous because I really was hoping for a certain type of corn beef hash (the southern/country non fancy version of corn beef hash). To my soul's delightful surprise the corn beef hash was AMAZING! the pancakes were tasty and well the eggs were eggs but that's great too! I totally enjoyed my meal. I think my date had the steak and eggs... he finished everything on his plate so I guess it was good. Then we sat and waited for someone to come back to check on us the final time (a server refilled our water). We sat.... and sat.... and sat.... I think we ate so good we became invisible. Finally my date asked for the check to be brought. We sat and sat.... and sat... waiting for it to come so he could give him the card... finallyyyy a child came and asked did we want our check.(again). He gave her the card and was finally cashed out. All and all the food was great! I would suggest calling it in. However it's quite far so uhh I guess don't have plans after. read more

Great restaurant! The best place to eat in the McDonough area, every meal I've ordered has been perfect, the hollandaise sauce is delicious. We have been eating here every day since finding it! Can get quite busy at times but it's worth the wait. read more

We found Leo's from Yelp so we stopped by for lunch on our way to Helen from Florida. We had a great time! The family who works here is SO nice and accommodating and wonderful. They treated us like family and were extra sweet about food for the baby (she particularly loved the wheat toast and chicken from my omelet) And the food is yummy too! The Jeff omelet was one of the best most interesting omelets I've eaten. Well worth the 6 minute drive off the interstate. Great prices too! Very clean and cute decor. There were so many delicious sounding choices on the menu! The food was very fresh and tasty. I like that it was on the healthy side and not all deep fried. My daughter especially loved the little extra treats they gave her in the way out :) We would stop here again in a heartbeat! read more

Trying to find another breakfast spot. Servers nice enough. Food took a while to come and was lukewarm, not adequately seasoned (and I'm not a salt hog, just like well seasoned food). This is a family owned restaurant and they are only open for breakfast and lunch but have really great combo breakfast meals that include juice and/or coffee & tea. Showed up around 1:45pm. Walked in and was greeted by a guy that was just starring at us while sitting at the counter. No idea who the fellow was but I think he worked there. He told us to pick a seat anywhere. As we looked around the restaurant all the tables that could seat a party of 5 were dirty and still had dirty dishes on them. So we picked a nearby dirty booth and sat down. The guy that was originally at the counter removed the dishes and wiped off the table. A few minutes later a waitress showed up. She never introduced herself and just started to ask what we wanted to drink. I asked if we could have menus and she initially looked confused but then laughed it off and retrieved them along with some silverware. We took a quick look and decided. I asked her if they had fountain drinks and was told "yes, we have all the drinks". I looked around because the menu didn't declare exactly what all the drinks were and I couldn't locate a fountain machine to confirm the waitresses not so certain response. After having explained to the young waitress what fountain drinks are she said that they only had canned drinks with no refills, juice, tea, or water. We all ordered and moved on. The waitress brought the wrong drinks and then got mad when we asked for what we originally ordered. She proceeded to walk away and mock us to another waitress that was behind the counter. At this point we were all really hungry and didn't want to drive to another restaurant. So we ignored her and moved on. The menu is impressive and full of so many different choices. However, after careful review it was evident that the names of the dishes were different but the ingredients were all pretty much the same with slight variances. Also, with such a large menu and small kitchen I began to question just how fresh some of the ingredients might be. No biggie, I get it. We ordered a cheeseburger with fries, a Leo's Reuben, a chicken Caesar salad, a Greek salad, and a chicken salad club with avocado and bacon. While taking the order, the server asked me how to spell Reuben and Caesar (a bit awkward). Then when she took my wife's order she placed both hands palms down on the table and leaned over my drink. Her torso was literally in my face and was sooo awkward. After the uncomfortable personal space intrusion was over she left for a brief minute or two. The server returned twice with questions and clarifications about the orders. After about a 15 minute wait (not bad) the orders were brought out. All except my wife's. She ordered the chicken salad sandwich (simple preparation). A few minutes later her meal arrived and we feasted. As I continued drinking my tea I noticed a black piece of dirt or something floating inside the cup and looked for our server. Couldn't find her so I gave up and shared a drink with my wife. The Caesar salad was outstanding and the Leo Reuben was pretty good too. The chicken salad sandwich had little flavor and was just too plain. The cheeseburger was clearly a frozen pre-made patty and had no flavor. The Greek salad had little dressing and was super dry. The side of potato salad was terrible and had no flavor. Coleslaw was ok and the fries were frozen store bought. We were never asked how the meal was and never got refills on any of our drinks. They serve the coleslaw and potato salad sides in metal 2.5oz dressing cups which guarantees 2 spoonfuls. We had to flag down another server in order to pay and while waiting the table behind us literally had to yell in order to get the attention of another employee so that they could receive service.The booth in front of us shared faces of discontent and I overheard their discussion of how dissatisfied they were with their meals as they complained to another waitress. Over all the tab was about $50. We will not be going back as we could have just went to IHOP down the street and would have had a better quality/quantity of food for a similar price and possibly received better service. This is a newer restaurant so I am sure they are working out the kinks. However, the entire experience has turned us off and we won't be back. No kids menu. A/C was terrible. read more
