Fried pork chops, cheese grits and fried eggs
    SetLady M.

Overall The food and service were great! We were greeted promptly at the door and quickly shown to a table. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The table selection was comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It wasn't very busy during our weekday visit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Arrival & Order taking: We were welcomed table-side by Lisa who seemed to be the heart of the restaurant. Besides a cook I saw come out of the kitchen, she was running everything. We were one of two tables occupied at the time. Lisa greeted, seated, joked, took drink orders (QUICKLY), food orders and bust down the bar orders with precision. SHE EVEN SANG HBD to a patron table-side. She was knowledgeable about the menu and offered suggestions. She offered specials or starters I like that she shared that we could order things ala carte. Food: Our food arrived in good time. Freshly cooked and well prepared. My husband had fried shrimp and cheese grits with a side of scrambled eggs. I had fried pork chops, Cheese grits, fried eggs and a piece of catfish aka carte. EVERYTHING SLAPPED! I am a fried fish LOVER but that pork chop turned me out‼ I loved that the batter for the fish and pork chop were DIFFERENT! I thought it was going to be the same taste. I WAS NOT! loved it. The grits were very good. I requested cheese be added to mine. Since it did not come with my dish. The grated bits on the top could have been excluded. It was delish without the distraction. It added no value. My egg was fried HARD the way I asked. My husband's eggs were scrambled soft the way he likes it. The shrimp and grits were awesome! I would love to try the grilled or sautéed shrimp. Ambience [[HIGHLIGHT]]The look inside is not real fancy but it's big open and airy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can appreciate that for busy times. Coming from NY, they would pile in many more tables. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The TVs were adequately placed on the wall for viewing from many angles.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music had us swaying while we ate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Great local place. We absolutely LOVE that we didn't have to go far and somebody in the kitchen KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE DOING! This was a relief from another local place that just dragged us waiting to eat. Three days later we're heading back with a table for 8 during a busier time. We'll get back on that experience later. For this upcoming visit, I tried two days in a row to book a reservation through the website and Yelp and I called. NO SUCH THING! It never happened. For a party of 8 I think a reservation is necessary and walking in shouldn't be an option. WE'LL SEE!!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute & simple spot off in the cut, they do have a outside eating area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not close to the expressway. I was there for a birthday party, I had the Bang Bang shrimp, which where good & fries which I never received. I had a lemon drop, which I felt was expensive for a less than half full glass ($14 or $16) our server was nice, though she forgot about my fries, napkins, and silverware, each time we asked of here she was very polite and apologetic. If I was ever in the area, I would give them another try because some of the people at the party raved about their chicken wings.

Service was great! Everyone was pleasant but the food was another story. Pork chops were dry and no flavor, eggs were okay. Got toast with no butter on it, so they were hard and dry. Asked for butter but it didn't matter cause toast at that point was cold, so butter didn't melt. Grits were good with the Cajun sauce but once that was gone, no flavor grits. Got chicken and waffle and waffle tasted old, chicken was crispy but no flavor. Unfortunately, will not go back cause I'm all for supporting black owned businesses.

Went here last weekend for brunch! I was very happy with my food; however, my husband was not! He said he wouldn't go back. He had the salmon patties (croquets) and grits. He said the taste was bland. He didn't even eat all of his grits. I, on the other hand, enjoyed my food very well! I had the omelet that had onions. peppers, and other veggies in it...good to me! And also, a side of potatoes that came with it that was good as well. Our waitress (can't remember her name) was also very attentive and friendly. Another good thing is, it's a B.O.B (Black Owned Business)!!! Yaay!!

The food was delicious! The service was great and professional. The ambiance was so cool for a Sunday morning brunch. Definitely looking forward to going back there! Had a chance to chat with the owner and he said that he has exciting plans for this restaurant!

I actually went back because I was invited by dear friend a year after my initial visit and I just came to say I never got anything other than a glass of water after we sat for an hour so we left and I will never be returning

Fish and grits, salmon and grits, mango mimosas!

The food was so delicious! 10/10...service was great and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambiance was nice with the jazz music playing in the background[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]!

My family of 4 waited over an hour, No food. I had to keep asking the staff for my toddlers French fries ( I didn't even get a full serving of fries!) the staff is on there phones, only one server is working. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant wasn't busy!! In 6 tables were being served!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Don't come here, don't waste your time.

Immediately upon entering there's a variety of booths, tables and bar seating. We opted for a table on the opposite side of the DJ so we could hear each other talk. Service was from Mimi who was very helpful in recommending the sides for our entree. We ended up ordering the jerk wings (appetizer), turkey wings with collards, dressing and candied yams. I ate the wings as my entree and we shared the sides. The presentation was great. Real plates & flatware. The sides came in their own bowls so the food doesn't touch. We were so hungry I didn't snap a picture but just imagine it! Or go try it for yourself when you're in the area. 5 Stars! The strip mall entrance and parking a bit of a challenge. Full review below: I went in Saturday afternoon. It was lightly busy but fully staffed so help/attention came quick. Dining solo so I opted for a seat at the bar. Bartender was super attentive. Didn't have to wait long for a menu or to place my order. Also, she regularly checked in on how everything was. I ordered the Yellow Diamond Martini ($15) and it was delicious. I got the fried green tomatoes (4 pieces) for $11.95. Complimentary very tall cup of water. The tomatoes were a little small so this is definitely an appetizer/light snack...which is A-OK for me. It came out shortly after my martini was ready. Overall, minus tip, it came to $29. Music was playing through a speaker but not too loud. People could comfortably have a conversation. There are multiple tvs throughout. I appreciated that some of them were showing stuff other than sports. One monitor, near the restroom, is devoted to Culturistic Kitchen content, which is smart. I did use the restroom. It's two stalls and two sinks. The non-handicap/ADA stall is tiny. I'm like a medium-sized woman who is 5'7 and even I was like yikes. When the place is busy/packed I could see a wait or a line for the bathroom. The one major downside...which is not Culturistic Kitchen's fault is that the strip mall is not easy to get out of and onto the main road (Jodeco Rd) especially if you're turning left. The parking lots for all the shops, which are great businesses, should be bigger than it is. Don't be surprised if, during peak times, you may have to park 1-2 doors down from the restaurant. Overall, I would go again. I don't go out to eat that often (there's food at the house ) but if I want a good cocktail and a light snack or try some of their regular food items, I would come again. More than likely, I'd choose an off-peak time because I wouldn't want to experience it at near full capacity but that's just me.

We didn't have breakfast, so it gave us more of a reason to visit and dine in. The host was amazing and such a southern sweetheart. We were sat and addressed promptly! The chicken and waffles were absolute bangers - just LOOK at them! I was not expecting a normal Chick-fil-A operation next to the restaurant, but it didn't interfere with our service at all. They have an amazing train theme in this location - with normal CFA guests being able to sit in a train-car! They also sell merchandise and I just HAD to get some stickers to go!

Inside, there's the standard Chick-fil-A setup, but there's also a separate sit-down section where you can be seated and have a waiter. That alone already made it feel like a completely different experience. You can still order off the regular Chick-fil-A menu, which is nice, but they also offer an expanded menu with items you won't find at a typical location, like omelets. What really caught my attention, though, were the sides. They had Brussels sprouts, fried okra, and this candy-yam-style soufflé, and every single one of them was absolutely amazing. I paired those with a three-piece chicken tender meal, and everything was fresh, hot, and delicious. The service was excellent, which honestly is exactly what you'd expect from Chick-fil-A, but it still deserves to be said. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made the experience feel welcoming. Between the unique menu options, great food, and top-notch service, this location really stands out. I'll definitely be coming back.
