    Pancakes
    Marvin J.

Just look at how big and fluffy the pancakes are. Seriously, just look at the photos. That really says it all. I had been wanting pancakes for about a week and my go to spots all close at 2:30pm or 3pm and...it was about 2:45pm. Leo's is kind of a safe diner I can take my girls where they always find something they like on the menu. I'd never had their pancakes but I knew they served breakfast all day and took a shot. Listen...these were some of the best pancakes I've ever had and just like I like 'em....big and fluffy. I don't need whipped cream, or fruit. Just gimme some butter and syrup and I'm good. This place is always clean and just has super casual vibes which I dig. Oh....I also ordered a side of sausage links and they weren't cooked as well is I like them. You can't play with pork! Ain't no such thing as medium pork! You gotta cook them piggies well done! It may be another 6-months to a year before I treat myself to pancakes again, and surprisingly, Leo's will probably come to mind first. Especially if it's after 2:30pm.

Oh how I wanted to love this place because the cashier was sooooo sweet and super friendly. So five stars to her. I'm here at a weeklong training for work and while there's a few restaurants within walking distance, I decided to come here. However, the food I ordered was beyond subpar and extremely tasteless. I will say the atmosphere was very inviting and decorative. Pretty epic in fact. The broccoli and cheese soup is supposed to have a level of texture like thickness and this was just watered down. The taco salad was perhaps the worst thing I've ever eaten in my life. I'm guessing this place is like a free for all type of diner where anything and everything is served. Sometimes having too many items makes it difficult to master good wholesome dishes. I mean they have Mexican, Chinese, Mediterranean, American and California cuisines. For example, there's the go green omelette, avocado toast spinach and feta cheese omelette, etc. Anyway, I'm just visiting but I may return for a hot dog since the name has Coney Island in it...the place of my first Coney dog in Coney Island NY.

Met up with a buddy for lunch. He regularly goes here being so close to his work but I had never been. I'm not a real big hot dog fan unless done up right (I enjoy yesterdog but it's been so long) so I figured I'd give it a try. And truth be told they have ALOT more than just dogs (breakfast selections and lots of sandwiches and salads)! Anyways the food was great, I got the regular coney and Chicago coney for the added kick. Everything was very tasty and the service was fast and friendly. Biggest thing is the value- living up to true coney standards of great tasting food at an equal Great cost. Great spot for those reasons but even some people doing work or studying at some tables as it's a comfortable and spread out area and not terribly noisy by any means. Definitely something to try.

Convenient, friendly, quick, but below average food. Stopped in with my daughter and had a fine experience but the food just isn't good. My daughter had the chicken tenders with fries and I had the 2 coney dog combo with fries. There are so many good hot dog places around town that I feel guilty for even trying them here. The fries were soggy, tasteless, and cold. Even my daughter only ate a few, which is a big red flag. Our server was very nice and she took great care of us. The food arrived quickly and the order was correct. Maybe we will try again and just stick to their breakfast items because that's harder to screw up.

My wife and I took our daughter and her boyfriend to eat here and we all were fully satisfied with our meals. Portions are large and the Greek food we got as sides with our breakfast were super. We just note that the flaming cheese was a little small. We will return as always.

Leo's is the bomb for breakfast. Consistent food quality. Usually get a breakfast sandwich, but today splurged on the go green omelette with breakfast potatoes - soooo good! Large portion. I opted for no toast, but it does come with toast if you prefer. Sat at the bar and got great service from the attentive staff. Will absolutely be back!

Very clean restaurant. I love that they serve breakfast all day. I ordered the country skillet. It comes loaded with potatoes, lots of sausage, cheese, gravy, and eggs on top. It was made perfectly to my liking. The menu is vast yet made quickly and consistent every time.

    Kosher Chicago !

This review is specifically for the kosher Chicago dog I had at Leo's Coney. I'm one of these picky hot dog people. Yes, I know what hot dogs are made of, but like everything else, if you make it with love and use decent ingredients something simple can be pretty tasty! That was the experience I had at Leo's. I hadn't been to a "Coney" before. I've been in GR for 3 years and always wonders what the big deal is with "Coney's". Well, lunch with my peers called for a coney hey, why not. This Chicago dog was really good! I opted for the kosher because I enjoy the beef flavor and all the fresh Chicago dog toppings. The bun was fresh, and fluffy and just thick enough to absorb the moisture. I know it's just a hot dog, but it was tasty!

The menu is concise and they do these classics well. They also have a daily milkshake and weekly food features. I still need to visit for their Sunday brunch! I've now been to the GR location many times and really appreciate how dialed in they've gotten over the years. You can order at the counter to go or get table service. The space is large and bright and good for groups. On my most recent visit, I was trying to decide between a burger and a chicken sandwich, and realized I'd never had the BBQ chicken club, which is listed as a grilled chicken breast with BBQ sauce, bacon, cheese, tomato, lettuce, and mayo. Our server told me that people like it if they are looking for something without fried chicken... but I really wanted fried chicken. So I asked if I could do that with fried chicken instead and she said absolutely! Their menu is super customizable, which is great to know. Our food came out quickly and I was impressed with the presentation of the sandwich. I like that they wrap it in paper which makes it easier to eat. It was a little messy towards the end with the BBQ sauce and mayo, but it was delicious and totally worth it. The veggies were fresh, the chicken was juicy, and the bacon was crispy... I'm thinking this might be my new go-to! Their burgers and other chicken sandwiches are also delicious. They have a full bar and fun cocktails, and happy hour Tuesday-Friday! Parking in the area is always a bit of a challenge, especially with continued construction nearby, but there are metered spots and some paid lots within walking distance.

When they finally talked to us they weren't very friendly. Anyway, we made our way to the bar and it was full except for 3 seats. I think the bartender waiting on us was new. He seemed like he was pretty overwhelmed/in the weeds. He greeted us quickly and brought us waters when he did, which I appreciated. I ordered a Blackeberry Bourbon Sour and my Mr had Paloma Nuestra. We both enjoyed our drinks they were refreshing and well crafted. For dinner I had a really hard time deciding! I wanted to try so many things! Our bartender said his favorite thing in the menu is the chicken and rice bowl. That was something I was considering and decided to go with that. Excellent recommendation! The chicken was flavorful and so tender. The hot peppers were a nice touch. There was a lot of food too! I couldn't finish it all. Mr had the hanger steak that was served with mushroom and asparagus risotto. He said the risotto was the best he's ever had, and I agree. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and so was the steak. For a guy who hates cheddar biscuits, I've got to say I'm blown away. My wife ordered the steak with fingerling potatoes and carrots. It was on the pricier side, but yet again well worth it. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the veggies were pretty good too. They had live music playing as well tonight. It was a jazzy kind of vibe and it didn't over power anyone talking or anything. The guy had some serious skill too. To top it off, we had some pretty killer service from everyone there. My guest and I spent most of our lunch talking, and I left with nearly an entire meal. About 20 minutes after leaving, I realized I had forgotten my box and immediately called the restaurant to see if it was still there. The young lady who answered the phone asked where I had been seated. I explained that I was at the very first table at the front of the restaurant. Within seconds, she told me there was nothing there. Her tone made it clear that assisting me was not a priority. Given that the hostess stand is located at the back of the restaurant and I was seated at the front, I do not believe there was enough time for her to actually check before dismissing my concern. After I sent an email regarding the situation, the hostess responded that she had walked through the restaurant looking for the box. Based on the timing of our phone conversation, I find that difficult to believe. In her response, she also stated that she checked with the servers after our call had ended, which suggests that no real effort was made while I was on the phone. What is most disappointing is that I am a regular customer. Today, I paid $56.00 for lunch for myself and my business guest. Between a server who was largely absent throughout the meal and the dismissive interaction when I called about my forgotten food, the level of service fell far below what I have come to expect. Everyone has an occasional bad day, but customer service is often defined by how issues are handled after something goes wrong. In this case, I felt dismissed rather than helped. Unfortunately, after today's experience, I do not plan to return.
