Going out of my way to say this is the worst experience I've had trying to deal with a service department. Had to go above their head to get them to work on my machine after 4-5 weeks of nothing and ended up getting the demo ski the owner had at his cabin as compensation while they got to work. Which then only took 4 DAYS TO GET A CALL SAYING MY MACHINE WAS DONE AND I HAD TO DROP THE DEMO OFF. I quit coming here two years ago but they continue to just fuck people over, I've heard nothing but bad stuff about these people on and off the trails. Leo's South in Lakeville MN has shoddy service. I'm not writing this review out of anger or frustration. Rather, I'm writing this out of sheer amazement, and also because my riding friends have asked me to. This started with a defective TFT display on my 2024 Ninja 500 40th Anniversary SE. After about 200 miles, a dead line appeared through the center of the display and never went away. I don't normally take my bikes in for their 600-mile service as I like to do my own maintenance. Seeing as this was out of my control and I wanted the warranty to cover the display, I decided to take it in at around 760 miles and have them do the repair and go over the bike. When I dropped off my bike at Leo's South in Lakeville, MN, I brought a microfiber cloth with me so I could give the bike a thorough wipe off in the parking lot, so I knew I was leaving it with them clean and in great condition. After they had the bike for about a week, Leo's called and informed me that it would take about 6-8 weeks until they could get a new display in from Kawasaki. Additionally, they told me that they are required to hold my bike for the duration of the warranty repair, leaving me without the bike for well over a month. After about 8 weeks, I got the call that it was done and I could come pick up the bike, so I went to Leo's grab it. Here's where it gets interesting... Firstly, the display apparently contained the mileage for the bike, so when the new display was installed, my mileage was back to zero. They were unsure if there was a way to load my miles, which Kawasaki would later confirm you cannot. I mentioned that this would probably cause me low-ball offers on resale due to the mileage being inaccurate, to which the service person said to me, "that's bullshit" and "you don't know what you're talking about". I was required to sign documents stating that they had performed the initial 600-mile service and that they had inspected and cleaned my machine... 1). There was some caked-on mud and debris around the rear wheel - I've never taken this bike in the rain. 2). The chain was visibly dirty and had obviously not been cleaned. If anything, it was dirtier than it was when I dropped it off. Not a big deal really. I clean chains all the time. 3). A fairing screw was missing on one of the lowers. This one bothered me the most as they said they would need to order in the screw. (SCREW that lol. I ordered the OEM part online to ship to my home.) I asked if they could give me a deal on the service cost due to the issues and they said no, so I paid the $120 and went home to clean and inspect the bike in my garage. All in all, the repair was fine. After I cleaned the bike off and installed the missing screw, it was back to its glory, minus 760 miles. Anyways, not a big deal in the end, but good lord, please stay away from Leo's for service. They have cool bikes for sale and their prices are fair, but their service team 100% ripped me off and will likely repeat this behavior. About 2 weeks later I received a $15 coupon for service. read more

Took my husband's scooter here for an extra key to be made and to figure out why it was starting so hard. Drove over an hour each time to get it there and back because this place is a dealer for his particular brand of scooter. They had it for two weeks, and they made multiple excuses and claims as to what might be the issue but never really bothered to do anything about it. Even told us the guy who was working on it went on vacation so it sat for 4 days without anyone else looking at it! Couldn't even get the extra key made for us before my husband basically told them forget it. Only giving them the extra star because they admitted they messed up and didn't charge us for anything. read more

Every time I call to have my defender worked on the wait is for ever. The service manager is extremely hard to deal with. Also had my sxs needing some warranty work done. They couldn't get it in before it expired. So instead of trying to they wanted me to bring it in 3 weeks earlier before the 4th of July and didn't have a open spot July 5th to get my washer pump checked out. They said if I kept it and brought it in after the 5th of July they wouldn't warranty it. I than called them a few weeks ago for a 200 hour service. They said they were 3 weeks out. I would hands down use ST BONI MOTORSPORTS FOR ANY OF YOUR NEEDS!!!! They are able to get me in right away. And even warranty my washer pump out for me. Worst service ever. Had my bike for a month. Never ordered the part I needed. They will tighten too tight and break your spacers. They will mess up your ferrings. These old heads have no patience. Seem like they hate their job, everyone in that place never has any idea what's going on. They will pass u around, make you wait. Then do the most shit work on your bike. 0/10 I DO NOT RECOMMEND. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR BIKE. They forget to put every screw back in. They ride your bike and have no regard on if it was set for them or not. I went their for a carb rebuild and to replace the fuel filter and spark plug last summer. It ran worse than when I brought it to them they said it had low compression and I asked them to set the idle screw the mechanic told me it was set to spec so I had someone else look at my bike the idle was completely turned all the way down so the bike was not getting any fuel to the carb. I will never bring my bike to them ever again it feels like they were trying squeeze money out for senseless repairs.I would not recommend them to service your bike. my bike now runs perfect read more

Worst customer experience ever. I used to love this place. They used to take value in their customers. I bought a brand new 2022 motorcycle. The sales rep act like he didn't even want to sell me the bike. They said they were submitting all of my finances to the bank and it will take 30 minutes. I sat around for 2 hours. I then decided to leave and go home. I got a call from Chris who is the finance manager. He is the only one at that job that knows what he's doing and he cares about the customer. He told me that he couldn't submit the paperwork until the day that he called me. So the sales rep basically was wasting my time. I then wanted to pick my bike up. They had to do their inspections of course but I had to constantly check on it to get my bike. I sat around for another 2 hours waiting for my bike to be ready. Their lack of communication between parts service in the salesman is absolute trash. I walked into the garage and said hey. Is this bike ready to go or what The guy turned around gives me a thumbs up and says yeah man you're good to go to take it. I tell that to the sales guy and he's like nope we have to do a final check and I said they already did that. I sat around for another hour while he said he was going to get the paperwork and then came up to me and said is there anything else you need? And I said yeah you said you were going to give me the paperwork He's like. Oh yeah I forgot. They just don't care about the customers. I bought a brand new bike. I recently traded in and bought a motorcycle from Leo's. It was one of the most positive buying experiences I have had with Motorsports. My sales person was Drew, he was zero pressure and gave the impression of being an advocate for the customer. I found the bike I was interested in on Cycletrader, came in to take a look. I like the bike. Told them what I had for a trade and what I expected for the whole process. They came in close to where I wanted to be. I agreed to move forward. Following weekend I trailed my bike down (it was -4F). They inspected my bike, honored the written agreement we came up with the previous week. Signed the paper work, loaded the bike, and off I went. Both times I had my 2 year old in tow, both times they were a accommodating. What cost them a star, is I informed Drew I was on my way and anticipated arriving at the dealer in 40 min. When I arrived at the dealer 40 min later, I was informed that Drew was out running an errand and will not be back for 15 min. Leo's was nice enough to unload my bike from the trailer for the inspection. It was a busy day so it took time to process all the paper work. With a toddler and being transparent that I was on my way I expected the transaction to take about half the time it did. For sales, I recommend Leo's and would do business with them again. For Parts and accessories, The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. read more

I have been an ATV enthusiast since 2002. Since then, I have purchased (5) ATV 4-Wheelers. The best experience I have ever had happened Saturday June 4,2016 at Leo South in Lakeville!! I had just had a bad experience at Minneapolis Motorsports and had to walk out on a deal on a Can-Am Outlander 850cc MAX-XT. I called Leo's South over the phone and they basically told me that they were going to take great care of me. And boy did they ever! They gave me top dollar value for my trade, they put me on the four wheeler I wanted they were able to order all the parts and accessories - they extended my warranty from 6 months to a year and they gave me a free GoPro style camera just for making my purchase with them. They matched the deal that Minneapolis Motorsports was going to give me plus they gave me 10% off all the parts that I purchased. On top of all of those deals, they knocked off another several hundred dollars because they were late with delivery because the parts didn't come in. Another amazing tidbit, when I brought in my trade in, there was no service technician available to take it for a test drive to appraise its value, however this was not a problem for Leo's South. The owner, Randy himself came out and test rode my trade in and give me top dollar approved the whole entire sale and took care of everything hooking me up with the best Finance people and the best sales people in the business!! Where else would something like this happened? That would be like going to Microsoft in Seattle Washington and having Bill Gates himself help you out with the deal on a new computer because one of his techs weren't available!! Everything at Leo's South is top notch. I purchased a new Schuberth C 3 Helmet this spring in anticipation of a trip to Arizona. I included the high end electronic package with it. I got it home and was playing with it in the living room and thought this thing sure rides low on my brow and is a little uncomfortable on my chin and under my neck. Now I am a big guy with a round shaped head. I called customer service at Leo's and offered that I purchased this very expensive helmet the day before and I am concerned about the fit. I asked if I could exchange it for a neotec if i could not get use to it. I offered that I had not ridden with it and that the label had not been removed from the face shield. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON MADE IT CLEAR THAT I COULD NOT EXCHANGE IT,!! Even though it had been less than 24 hours!!! I had driven about 60 miles from my home to buy at Leo's thinking that I would get better service buying local. Well I am in the middle of the Arizona trip now. I am still unhappy with this helmet and disappointed that I did not buy it on line from one of the big on line dealers. The big on line dealers all offer no questions asked return policy's. Interesting the brick and mortar dealers all complain about the on line dealers but the customers get better service some times buying on line. I will say everyone was knowledgable and friendly at Leo's but the Managment must not understand the competitive choices that their customers have. Using their web site, twice I have submitted offers on a motorcycle I was interested in. In both cases, I never heard a word from them. They advertise they will get back to you quickly. You will get an auto-bot response saying they got your offer and that's the end of the discussion. If you want to deal on a motorcycle you have to call them. Of course that brings up the obvious point; Why do they even bother to put a "submit Offer" button on the site if they are going to ignore you? If I had offered twice what they were asking then you bet they would be all over it. Any "offer" will, of course, be less than the asking price but when you have a potential customer with money to bid, why would you ignore them??? read more

Purchased a slightly used BMW motorcycle from this dealership. The tank had a dent in the top from something falling on it in the prior owner's garage. For the purchase price, they agreed to replace it with a _new_ tank. Unfortunately, "new" to them meant body filler and paint. This might not have been a problem if the repair was a good one - as it was, gasoline kept seeping through and bubbling the paint. I brought the bike back in several times where they would claim to "make it right." After being without it for a couple of weeks I would get it back, only to have the paint start to bubble again within a few days of filling the tank. My salesman had the gall to say, "If you would just buy a new motorcycle, you wouldn't have to deal with these issues." I finally gave up. For the last several years I have settled with cursing Leo's, every time I get on the bike and look at the poorly painted tank on an otherwise beautiful machine. My wife, who works in Lakeville, mentioned she had stopped in to Leo's because she was looking for a replacement for her old Ducati Monster. After explaining my experience with them (which was before we married), she was grateful to have dodged the Leo's bullet. Recently, they tried to charge me for a factory recall issue. It took a call to BMW who in turn had to call Leo's before they would perform the work without charging me. Apparently, their customer service hasn't improved any. read more

Extremely unimpressed with Leo's South right now. I was in their location a few weeks ago and they gave me the part number for a part I needed on my Kawi 250. Well I've called every day for the last 3 days and either time out on hold or go to voicemail! If another motorcycle store like Motoprimo carried the part there is no doubt they'd lose my business. But here I am having to wait and wait for a voicemail I left 24 hours ago. I think I'll just pay a bit more and buy it online. read more

I was not satisfied with the parts department at Leo's. I was working with a person named Jeff behind the desk and had an alternator that needed to be tested. I had an older jet ski and this alternator was newer. There was an issue starting it and had done my research to correct it. When Jeff tested it he said that it was bad and also suggested that I get a new and starter assembly. The whole quote was $411.34. I didn't feel to comfortable about this. I took the starter to two other legitimate companies to have the alternator checked. They both confirmed the alternator was fine and in good shape. I don't feel confidence with the parts department at all especially the rep that helped me out. read more

I don't know where to begin with the review on these guys. My thoughts as to how they stay in business is that there Aren't that many motorcycle shops in town. I got my bike serviced by them. Customer service was horrible, they charged more on items they quoted. After paying them to have the chain and sprocket replaced I got no information or service handoff. I was handed my invoice and told to pay to get my key. No recommended lubricant / cleaning intervals or any useful information. Also I was told if they find anything wrong with my bike in their 45 dollar safety inspection they wouldn't be able to do that work and would have to schedule later. Overall the service appeared to be done to an adequate degree but they completely are missing the ball on customer service. It's unfortunate as I bought a Kawasaki and they deal that brand but will have to go elsewhere to get my bike serviced in the future. read more

I don't wright a lot of reviews but this was bad! On Friday the 5th I called the dealership because I wanted to buy a 2015 Seadoo. I was working with a sales guy named Dan. I told him I wanted to buy the used Seadoo and a trailer. Dan said he had one used trailer and a couple new ones. I told him I wanted the used trailer. He then asked me if I wanted to put a deposit on the Seadoo and trailer so he could hold them. I told Dan yes I can do that and Dan said it would be $100 to hold them. I gave him the card number and told him to run it for $500. The sales guy asked if I could come in on Saturday the 6th. I said I could only make it in on Tuesday the 9th. Friday and Saturday no one ran my card for the $500. I called Dan on Tuesday when I was on my way to get the Out The Door Price. He called me back 30 mins later and gave me the numbers and I knew something was wrong. I was right because Dan was $400 higher then the price he quoted me. Then he told me that the Seadoo needed a part fixed and didn't know when it would be done. I told him i was already on my way and this was the only day that I cloud make in down. Dan then told me that they loaned out the trailer I had a deposit on and it would be back until Wednesday but "I could buy a new one for $250 more". I told him I didn't need a new trailer and I wanted the one I put a deposit on. After 2 hrs of driving got to the dealership and Dan didn't even offer to let me see the Seadoo I was looking at. We were working on numbers and even tho Dan dropped the ball and let someone loan out the used trailer. The best deal he could get me was $20 off of a new one. I agreed to buy the new one only because I took my day off to do this and knew I couldn't make it back soon enough. Dan walked me over to the parts to buy extras if I needed them. Then Dan must have took his lunch brake because he disappeared for 30 mins when the parts guys was looking for him because Dan didn't tell him anything that the Seadoo needed. (fire extinguisher, registration, towing straps) When Dan came back he brought me into the finance office before the finance guy had anything printed. After getting done with finance Dan walked me over to the service area to have someone finally show me the Seadoo and how it works. Before seeing it Dan said "I forgot to tell you, someone stole a small plastic cover off of the Seadoo." He said "they must have needed more then we did". Outside getting a walk around the service guy asked if I heard about the plastic cover and told me that THEY had him rip that cover off of that Seadoo a week ago to put onto a different one. So there is another lie from Dan! I have been in car sales for the last 4 years and if anyone at our dealership did half the shit Dan did. They would no longer have a job!! I bought a new BMW RT 1200 from Leo's and while the sales person, Scott Helzen was very knowledgeable and friendly and did a great job, the rest of the staff at Leo's that I dealt with are terrible! The sales manager basically stole my Aprillia trade-in from me - I should have just put it back on the trailer - and the service department is absolutely horrible. Please do not buy anything from this place unless you want to end up stranded like I did. The battery on my new bike started to go bad 2 months after I picked it up and the bike left me stranded several times until I got a jump to get it back home. I called the srvc mgr at Leo's to tell her that I was bringing the bike in to have them look at it and get a new battery if my suspicions were correct. She said I would have to leave it and they would look at it as soon as they could. I said I really don't need to have them look at it much, just take a quick look at the bad battery, replace it if necessary & I will be on my way. If I need to leave the bike there overnight, surely I could get a loaner. Oh no! Leo's does not give out loaners to anyone and again they would not be able to look at it right away. She told me to call the BMW warranty folks and they would have my BMW picked up for free and delivered to Leo's for them to look at it when they can - so I did that. I thought fine, have it your way but seems dumb to me. They had my BMW for a little over 3 weeks! before they had a chance to look at it & determined that the battery was bad/shorting out - big surprise! I told her that 3 weeks of good riding weather ago! Anyway, I had to wait an additional couple of days for them to order a sub standard replacement battery before I could finally pick it up and the bike quit on me just a few miles from Leo's on the way home. They installed a cheap replacement battery and didn't even test it. The new, cheap battery was also bad! They are imbeciles! I called BMW warranty again & told them that Leo's should not even have a BMW dealership as their service stinks & had them tow me and my BMW to the closest real BMW dealer, Moon Motorsports in Monticello. Moon is very professional and replaced the junk battery that Leo's installed with a BMW factory replacement and it has been bliss ever since. I will never buy anything from Leo's again and you should not either. You have been warned! Don't say I didn't warn you. They stink! read more

I bought a used Suzuki Intruder motorcycle on a Saturday and wanted to test drive it, they said insurance doesn't allow me to ride off the property so I rode around the parking lot and on the side street but never got a good feel for the bike. I took it home and on Monday stopped back in and said I wanted to cancel the sale because it didn't realize it was geared so low(had a 4 speed trans) that at Interstate speeds it vibrated horribly. They said there was nothing they could do and I rode it for the summer and sold it. I have had the pleasure of telling legions of bikers to stay away from Leo's if you don't want to have an experience to remember. The one thing that I feel was wrong was that they were aware of this problem when I come back on Monday and didn't disclose it to me so I could make an educated decision to buy a bike better suited for my riding habits. read more
