I've been visiting Manja for facials and other skincare for close to a decade (even during a three-year stint in NYC, I couldn't find an aesthetician of her caliber, so I scheduled appointments during every visit home), and the effects have been honestly life changing. But I took advantage of a different service last week and have to share the awesomeness. LePA started offering makeup lessons over a year ago and I've been dying to bring my mom. She planned a last-minute trip to Austin and Manja squeezed us in for a joint mother daughter session. I loved every second of it! We walked through the application process step by step on my face and then on my moms, and got personalized tips based on our face shapes, complexions, etc. Manja is so great at highlighting your best features and treating or minimizing your not so great ones! Mom and I both left feeling gorgeous and with better makeup skills and knowledge than before. The session also comes with a beautiful set of brushes. I've only had a facial once before at another spa/salon and it was an absolutely terrible experience where the person just gave up because my skin was too dry. When I saw the Groupon for Two Essential Oil Acne Facials with Ultrasound Exfoliations at Lepa, I decided to give it another shot since it was rated so well. When you first enter Lepa, there's a small sitting area with refreshments and snacks available. It's then separated into individual rooms. The environment is very relaxing and they have calming music playing the whole time. It's also very clean. Katie was my esthetician for both facials. She did a great job making me feel comfortable and was very patient with all of my questions. She cleansed my skin, exfoliated my face, steamed it, extracted pimples & blackheads, and then put on a mask that was suitable for my skin. This entire process really helps open up the pores to help get all the gunk out. Another bonus is that Katie gives you an arm and hand massage while you're waiting for the mask to soak in! I also really appreciated the fact that Katie was not pushy with trying to sell me any of the products. She told me about them if I asked but did not force me to buy them. I recently started electrolysis with Becca. She is well-versed in the service and thoroughly answered all of my questions. LePA's machine is wonderful and makes for a much less painful experience than I've had in the past. They use an awesome lotion and cooling globes afterwards and don't charge for pre and post care, which is rare but much appreciated. Becca really pays attention to my skin during the service and is mindful about scheduling around my facials so that my skin has time to heal properly. I've also begun replacing my old skin care products with the ones she's recommended to me and my skin has never been better. I constantly get compliments on my skin! So glad that I found Becca and LePA and have taken steps to better my skin! read more

She's been in the field since childhood (her mother runs a chain of spas in Slovenia), plus the aesthetician certifications there are highly rigorous; they're akin to medical school. I had an hour and a half facial with Becca and it was fantastic! She is very knowledgable, explained everything she was using, the massage was great and my face looks and feels so good! I will definitely be going back soon and will add on a body massage and cupping. June 2016 update- I have been seeing Becca now for bi-weekly massages since the beginning of this year and am so grateful that a friend recommended her to me. I do deep tissue massages, cupping and green vac machine treatments (they're AMAZING and life changing!) I truly have never had a better massage in my life. Having been through a bad car accident and also having fibromyalgia I ache a LOT and don't want to depend on medications to alleviate. Wish there was an option for 0 stars. I can't believe I forked out $110 for a facial that was not worth even $30. My cheap eyebrow lady does a better job. I had an appointment today with Katie for a signature facial. When I walked in, she didn't know which kind of facial I had booked. She thought I had come in for a different kind of facial - and said don't worry about the massage part because the one you've booked doesn't really include much of a massage. I was a little startled (because I was pretty sure I chose this place because it promised on the page that: "All our facials include a COMPLIMENTARY shoulder and hand massage. No matter what type of facial you choose, you will not miss out on any pampering.") - I then proceeded to clarify: no i'm pretty sure i booked the signature facial. Yes, i forked out extra because I wanted the pampering and the massage that may come with this facial. She did not massage ANYTHING at all, zero, nothing. All she did was slap on a few creams, do a few extractions, and slap on some more masks. I even had to tell her there were ingrowns that were on my chin and neck half-way through the treatment, that was the first time that she actually looked at my neck. I'm extremely disappointed to have spent so much money at a place on a weekend, away from my kids, in an attempt to de-stress - and instead i just walked away from the spa feeling like i wasted a whole lot of money, could have done a better job myself with the masks and a steamer! I would not recommend this place at all! I kept on thinking to myself: perhaps the massage part isn't included because of Covid and this new normal, but I even poked around at the Covid concept and brought it up in conversation (although if it's excluded, she should have mentioned it to me beforehand) - and nope she didn't say anything. I'm also really astonished that this place is considered "relaxing" - yes there was relaxing music in the background, but there's this constant sound coming from the pipes or water products in the background which makes it far from relaxing! I wish i could leave 0 stars! Stay away! read more

My rosacea and erratic skin care meant I really needed help. Manja taught me how to care for my skin and I've been getting facials, with extractions (and neck/shoulder massages) every 4-6 weeks for a couple of years or so now. My skin has really calmed down. I had a facial from Becca recently and it too was a wonderful and relaxing experience. I recommend both Manja and Becca highly! I get electrolysis with Sara who is a lovely person to spend time with! She is super clean and thorough in her work and my hairs are disappearing! By the way, Lepa is very clean and in a sweet house on Hancock Dr. - just a bit off Burnet Rd. It's easy to find, in central Austin and has off-street parking. Manja, owner of Lepa, grew up in her mother's spas in Europe and graduated from a European skin care academy and has YEARS of experience. I love going to Lepa. They always take good care of me. I wanted to spoil myself for my birthday and got the body facial. It was amazing and relaxing. You first get a body scrub which leaves your skin feeling extremely soft. Then she puts a body mask and leaves you wrapped in a bunch of layers so your skin soaks in the mask. I got the signature facial with Becca, it was amazing! She listened to all my skin concerns and was very sympathetic to my skin issues. She really tried to help my breakdown why my breakouts may be occurring, and what things I should change in my lifestyle to help. This is something my dermatologist did not even do. She gives a fantastic facial, especially when it comes to extractions! I have had skin issues all my life, and am a bit of a skincare junkie. I decided last year I would start getting regular facials to really get my skin under control (and also see a dermatologist), and so I was very picky about what salon I would go to. I didn't want to go somewhere that I felt was just a glorified facial massage - I wanted real skincare science and expertise. This brought me to LePa. After several facials I can say all the positive yelp reviews are completely accurate and well deserved. I see Becca who is very knowledgeable and I feel like she really pays attention to my skin. She will customize the treatment depending on how my skin is that day. I have a tendency to over exfoliate which leaves it a little raw sometimes, and Becca always uses gentle products on my skin. I have never been pushed to buy products, though I have bought some in the past as the results from the products LePa uses are really good. I have noticed a definitely improvement in my skin, and moreover have been trying to follow Becca's advice to be more gentle and healing with my skin, and not use so much exfoliating/acid products. I think this has really made a big difference. The spa itself is very clean and airy, and not overly stuffy or formal, so it's relaxing in that way. I found this lovely tucked away spa on groupon and purchased after seeing all of the great reviews on yelp. I love being pampered but was nervous since I haven't had any good experience with extraction facials. Katie listened to all of my concerns and I came away with my skin looking bright and unblemished and felt refreshed and relaxed. I have just started working with Katie on electrolysis hair removal for my chin and have been very pleased. She is so kind and explains the process so well. I was worried and whether it would hurt, and it is better than I expected. It does sting but is very quick.
