Each day i do see my Mail Courier (parked at the end of my street) , but I never actually get my mail, or packages. What I think is going on is they park in the neighborhood, scan the packages as delivered (so the GPS location is recorded...I had two just yesterday) then they deliver your package whenever they feel like it?or it goes missing entirely? If I'm wrong my apologies , but if you call this location (you will just get put on hold indefinitely with endless advertisements blaring in your ear for hours)or complain online it will go unanswered.

When I got in there was a small growing line but I was so impressed by the representative making eye contact and speaking to each customer and yet not Taking away from the customer she was helping!!! I can't say I've ever seen customer service on this level. She also was in great spirits and high energy, not annoying high energy but warm...like an aunt. She was able to help me with my FedEx shipment. It doesn't work how it would at a FedEx office ship & print, though I was still able to use my account. This is my favorite post office in the Kalamazoo area. The staff are very friendly (and always…read moresmiling), the line usually goes fast, and if there is an enormous line, as there was today, someone will come out with a portable counter to help people with easy orders (package drop-off, stamps). There are several handicap spots right in front (thank you!) - the shortest walk from the handicap parking to the door of any of our local post offices. I will drive out of my way to go here, and am pleased that we have such a nice, clean, friendly post office.

I assisted, by filling in the bubbles per request, my 96 year old Grandma's absentee ballot. We diligently went through each race and each nominee. I put it in the secrecy envelope and then placed that in the envelope to be sent. On the outer envelope it asks for voter to sign and a section for the person who assisted voter to sign. I signed the envelope. A pretty exciting moment! Lucia and I went to the local post office and dropped in the box. I took a picture of the outside of envelope excited to share that my Grandma had voted to my family. After texting the picture, Leslie Reece Littlejohn said "did she sign it?" I confidently said she did not need to it was only the person who assisted her needed to...then I more closely looked at the instructions and my heart sunk. She was suppose to sign! Ugh. I resolved feeling ok in that she thought she voted at this historic election. But truly nagged me that her vote was not going to count. BUT what Makes America Great is a small town postal office that saw her ballot not signed and drove to her house, had her sign and sent her ballot. It is NOW official vote! What Makes America Great is our democracy - Great is everyone knowing how important our vote is to us as a democracy and to us personally! Our democracy matters!!! VOTE! But a coworker of mine needed some supplies in a hurry, and since the box was going to be fairly large and contain some fragile items, I figured UPS would be a better bet. There was a substantial line out the door when I arrived, but it probably only took 15 minutes for me to get up to the counter since they were very well staffed. While I was in line, I noticed that they really offer quite a lot of services I wasn't aware of, including document shredding and printing of posters and mailers. They even have greeting cards. They were also fundraising for Toys for Tots at the counter, and accepting donations for the cause, and I'm always a sucker for a business that supports good causes!

I was in around 12:30 pm and had two packages. There was a gal cleaning out a trash bin, a young man waiting on another customer, and the gal who waited on me. I had two packages. The scan gun must be extremely heavy because she could not manage to lift my top package up to scan the bottom one. She told me to lift the top one. She didn't ask me; she told me. Then she told me she would not take the bottom package because it was in a box. I guess it was a return that did require a box or label. I told her, just throw it away. Her response was, "We don't recycle for customers". Don't you have a trash compactor with the volume of boxes you receive and process during a day? She said unless I took it home, she would not process the second package. Absolutely crazy. I have never had this happen at this location, so I was a bit surprised. It was not a pleasant experience, and her rudeness did not make things any nicer.
