I had to call multiple times the morning of my move after multiple confirmations prior. They told me they had no move prior to me that day and showed up with a rented truck and very few pads to wrap my furniture, which were requested in advance multiple times prior to my move. The owner was the only effective mover. He brought two others workers and I literally ran circles around one of them, as he put his monster energy drink on my antique furniture multiple times. It was very frustrating to watch the crew move my items, bumping into walls, set drinks on my furniture and not wrap my furniture, as requested prior to moving items. I had much better success with the big companies that are local movers. The prices were also better with other moving companies. When they went to close out my transaction at the end of my move, they forgot about my $100 initial deposit as well as miscommunicated the dollar amount giving me multiple prices. I will not use this company again and was not pleased with my experience.

Another sign, on the office door, says it's open till 4:30, but the door is locked and nobody is around. I turn around in the parking lot to leave and see another sign that says they stop taking metal scrap at 4:15. I come back the next day before 4:15. I'd been stuck behind a train crossing just before Franklin's building, but I was still there, in their office, before 4:15, according to their office clock and my iPhone. A woman sends me outside the building and around to the back, where a guy comes out. I open my trunk to show what I have. He says, "We stop taking metal scrap at 4:15." I say, "It's not 4:15 yet." He argues with me, obviously trying to get me to leave. He turns his back to me and starts walking away, so I start telling him about yesterday's experience, "Your website says you're open until 5." He denies that fact several times, then finally yells, "The website is wrong!" He was not only wrong, he was rude and loud. He refused to take my scrap, despite the fact that I was following what company signs said. He apparently wanted to go home early, and no amount of my pointing to the fact that I was following the company's signs was going to get him to do his job. I had gone through a lot of trouble to collect this scrap for more than 2 years, save it from the landfill, and try to do the right thing by recycling the Earth's resources. This hassle cost me way more time than it's worth. An employee bullied a middle-aged woman so he could go home early. Don't even try to do business with Franklin. They will argue with you until past whatever time they decide to say is closing time so they don't have to lift a finger for recycling. Don't even try to reason with Franklin's staff because they'll just shout at you and bully you until you leave. It was a horrible experience and tremendous waste of time.

Not to mention the awful conditions of most of them! Roberts Storage was not near the top of my results, but I finally made it down the list. I called them and was satisfied with their price.... Oh, and they were polite on the phone! I drove down and gave them a look. Not only did I rent a storage unit for my crap, but I ended up using them to store my car too! This place is clean, professional, and personable. They have a good security gate with keypad and locks are available if you need one (small additional charge). The owners are always driving through which made my crap feel safe too! They are expanding now so this place can only keep getting better! Certainly the only place to go in the area! I went in with the urgent task of needing a document notarized and sent FedEx Overnight to Europe. I could have gone through USPS or FedEx Kinkos but I try to support small local business. BIG mistake. After charging me $60, i watched the notary seal up my docs and assure me he that my VERY important and time sensitive document would get to its destination on time. Three weeks later I get a call from the post office that I had a package addressed to Europe returned. WTF? Turns out that the Mail Room had taken my document out of the sealed FedEx envelope, went to the post office, put it in an Express Mail envelope, and sent it off. The best part (next to finding out that my document never delivered) is that the USPS stamp cost the Mail Room employee $30!! When I went back to the Mail Room to demand an explanation, they told me that the $60 they charged me included some "standard" charge cover the cost of some relationship FedEx has with USPS. A USPS employee later confirmed that this was nonsense. I will NEVER seek their services again!
