Came here with kids on a late Saturday evening. Lots of indoor seats were available. Good food options, including decent kids size menu ranging from fish and chips to Mac and cheese. Service was a bit slow but otherwise everything else was good.

Unfortunately did not have the opportunity to dine at the original location with spectacular city views but having the terrace was a great option! Service was very slow on this night, which was surprising given the restaurant was not excessively crowded. However, our server was very kind and courteous once we got going. The food was fantastic, especially the duck and beet salads. Do NOT leave without getting Pouding Chômeur - incredibly rich but worth every single bite. Even those in the group that weren't big dessert fans walked away raving about this sweet treat - like bread pudding but way better!

My husband and I went to Les Enfants Terribles for the first time on Tuesday evening. We were seated outside on the terrace at around 6:30pm. The restaurant was VERY busy with a great, buzzing atmosphere. I took a good 15 minutes for someone to take our order and then another 10 for our drinks (2 Negronis) to arrive. The drinks were delicious and definitely hit the spot. We ordered a dozen small oysters, small beef tartare and small salmon tartare and also ordered a small house salad to go with. The food took another 10 minutes or so to arrive and the portions were quite small, but not bad. Everything tasted very nice. We ordered wine which again took about 15 minutes to arrive. The wait staff all seemed extremely busy and hassled although the were all friendly enough. Everything was good, but nothing was outstanding. We may go back some day, if we're in the area again. Would give 3.5 stars if that was possible.

This was my first meal upon landing in Montreal, and it did not disappoint! My partner and I chose to split a few appetizers and steak frites. French Onion Soup - so rich, and the cheese pulled perfectly! It was a very large portion as well. Salmon tartare - tasted very fresh, and enjoyed the caviar in it too. Came with fewer chips than I was expecting, but honestly it's so good, you don't even need the chips Steak frites - very generous portion!! The steak was prepared to our liking and the fries were delightfully crispy and salty. The sauce was super flavorful, elevating the dish further. The space itself was a bit hard to find (you have to take multiple elevators), but it's very chic/dimly lit. Service was friendly and most of the staff speaks English, which was very helpful since I've found I have quite a bit of work to do on my french! Great first meal in Montreal and set a perfect tone for our trip. Would recommend!

I was part of a group dinner here recently and had a really good meal. We had a set menu since we had a party of 15 or so. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. I started with tomato and burrata salad. This was a nice small portion. Loved all the items in it. For my entree, I had a braised beef dish with potatoes and veggies. The beef was very tender and easy to eat. A large portion. Very flavorful. For dessert, I had a chômeur. It was a nice vanilla cake with maple. Nice vanilla ice cream on top. Some of our guests had a gnocchi dish that was delicious, as well as an appetizer fried calamari. Great drinks and wine. Overall a really nice meal.

The biggest draw to this restaurant is certainly the view! Unfortunately, there was a snowstorm when we dined so we didn't get the view others are raving about. Average food and average wine selection. The Caesar salad was big enough to share and the burger was well seasoned. The desserts looked fabulous but we had to head to the airport so we didn't get a chance to try. We came during a break in service which led to a slightly delayed start to service but the servers were communicative on what was happening. The bar is large with plenty of seating. Definitely make reservations if possible. Finding the restaurant can be difficult since there are two elevators to get there, but I felt it was well marked once you found the first elevator.

A local friend took us to this restaurant on our last night in Montreal. The view was incredible. We had a corner table which gave us great views. The service was nice, but kind of slow. The food was all delicious, we started with onion rings that came with the dill sauce, and that was terrific. I had a hanger steak with fries, and the steak was very flavorful, I also ordered an old-fashioned and once I got it, it was delicious but it took forever and the second one that I ordered when my entrée was delivered. I didn't get it until after I finished my meal. For dessert we had some thing it was like a maple bread pudding, and it was very good, although very sweet if you want an impressive place to take a guess or enjoy of you. You should come here.

Another stop on our adventure in Montreal due to a delayed flight and it was a GEM! I'm so glad we found this awesome rooftop. The drinks were perfect, the views were great and the service was on point. Casual enough yet classy - a perfect atmosphere. We stayed for a few hours and just relaxed and enjoyed ourselves and it was perfect.

The place was a bit confusing to get to when you first arrive because it is inside the building and you have to take 2 separate elevators to get to the restaurant. It is the highest floor of the building and the view is AMAZING! The food was great and came in a timely manner, plus the staff works fast and is very accommodating to requests. They also have this cute boomerang camera near the cost racks, which is great for when you are out with friends as you can send yourself the photo after you take it! Came here for my birthday last year and for my friend's birthday this year Best advice: GET THE PUDDING CHOMEUR, you will NOT regret it

Ate here today for dinner with my family while visiting Montreal for the first time. Before entering the restaurant, it took awhile for us to look for and take the elevator up to the restaurant. I got the flank steak with poutine and then we had all tried and different meals together as a family. The service was also really good and attentive that all had tasted great and delicious. I couldn't agree more! The ambiance of the restaurant was good too that it has good vibes. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time when I visit Canada someday maybe in the future! :)

So my feeling about this particular restaurant as you come here for the view, not necessarily the cuisine. The view and the drinks were wonderful my steak tartare left something to be desired.

The place was very nice but not a rooftop anymore. They moved it to the second floor of some mall. I was hoping to see the skyline views of Montreal but was a bit disappointed. Nevertheless the food was very good and the drinks were fairly priced. The ambiance is not very intimate more like a family place and a bit loud.

We stopped in for a quick bite and a drink. The kids menu leaves much to be desired. I think most picky eaters (my son included) didn't find much to eat on it. He opted for the chorizo "Pogos" but didn't really enjoy them... I had the Chicken Paillard, served with veggies and labneh. It was quite tasty. It was, however very pricy, at $27 dollars a plate. My husband ordered fettuccine with salmon and capers. He enjoyed the meal, however he said there were too many capers and it made the dish extra salty. His dish was also $27 dollars. The view of Montreal is gorgeous. We couldn't enjoy the terrace at it was closed (we visited in October).

BEST "BYOB" FRENCH BISTRO DURING RECENT TRIP…read more This is the best dining experience in our recent Montreal trip. I'm glad we made reservation since the place was quite packed when we arrived. To be honest, our first impression wasn't too great. We were seated in their main indoor dining area which was a bit too warm. We asked if we can be moved to their fully covered / heated patio area, but unfortunately the restaurant was full. Fast forward 15 minutes, we have placed our order and were enjoying our bottle of wine and a basket of bread. Our server came over and offered to move us to the patio area since a table had opened up. We were pleasantly surprised because (1) we didn't ask again and (2) most restaurants wouldn't change tables once customers started eating/drinking. The restaurant setting is unpretentious with a casual and cozy vibes. The staff are so friendly that we feel like having a family dinner! They offer a pre-fixe menu in which we thoroughly enjoyed! For appetizers, the escargot dish gave us a pleasant surprise. They wrapped the escargots and blue cheese sauce in a thin crispy crust! It's hard to describe, but it's sort of like having an escargot "crepe"! The few main courses we chose were excellent, and the rack of lamb was probably our favorite - tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked. As for dessert, their creme brulee was one of the best I've had - creamy custard topped with a perfect, crisp caramel top. I'd highly recommend this place, and will certainly visit again when I'm in town next time!

This is a spot for good food without the frills of a fancy restaurant. The appetizers were very different from each other but the bison and lamb had similar construction/sauces. Overall a wonderful experience! As tourists, it was fun to try some local wines during the day and buying a bottle to enjoy with dinner here. There was a range of drinks that people brought. We stuck with a light red wine that we got from SAQ down the street that offered a tasting of some local wines.

My husband and I had a very lovely date night at Modavie. We are glad we had a reservation because…read moreit was packed on a Sunday evening! We were seated at a lovely table for two by a window. The service at first was a bit slow, but that was understandable given how busy the restaurant was. Our server, Yan, was incredibly personable. He had excellent suggestions for dinner. We each started with cocktails, and enjoyed the ambiance. There was a live band, but we were in a different room. It wasn't loud like you would expect. 5/5 service. Beef Tartare: 5/5. This was an excellent start. The appetizer sizing was a little small for two people. If you want a little more, I'd recommend the entree size. It comes with fries. But it was delicious. The crostini's that came with it were a little overpowering, but the tartare itself was delicious. Duck Confit: 5/5. This duck was INCREDIBLE. Perfectly cooked, crispy skin, tender and juicy flavor. An incredible sauce. Delicious veggies and potatoes. The only thing I did not like about this dish was how quickly we ate it! Dessert (not pictured): 5/5. We had a chocolate pyramid with hazelnuts and chocolate mousse. Delicious. Be sure to put Modavie on your Montreal dining list!

I do recommend making a reservation on open table prior to coming. Here is what I think of the food: Seasoning is generally saltier but not too overly. Escargot or the snails is yummy. It comes with the option of cheese on top. Dressed heavy with olive oil and garlic. They remove the shell so it makes it approachable if you were nervous about trying. Cheese & Charcuterie board is as what you imagined. It can't go wrong. Rack of Lamb was good. I do recommend highly. It comes with our 4-5 bones worth of protein with potatoes & veggies. Lost track of how many bones because it was eaten so fast. Duck confit was average. Let me explain, duck was average but the amount of spinach I gotten and how potatoes on the plate was good. Sides out shine the protein here. Side of Foie Gras was perfect because I was worried about having too much food. It did come on a small plate because it's a side dish and it was fatty and salty. Intermission was the best cocktail of the night. Fruity with a star anise on top so you smell it while drinking it because it was so close to your nose. Jazz District was okay. Overall, I do think this restaurant site fairly between 4&5 stars. Do try it. I would come back for special occasions and it's not an every night meal.
