I came into the Union ave location a week ago to have my tires rotated. Young guys ran out and brought my truck into the shop. the help was nice and answered all my questions. When i got my truck back they told me i had numerous items that needed replacing. I asked for a quote and got one. They stated i needed Tie Rod ends Drag link equipment and also Swat Bar bushings Just to name a few. It totaled over $1,000.00. Me the smart shopper i went and got 2 estimates 1 in Medford & 1 in California because i was headed that way. Both shops told me that i had NOTHING wrong with my truck. Now Les Schwaub is a company that wants your daughter, Wife & even good ol Grandma to trust their name as a reputable place to bring your car. Id say my thoughts are pointing to other places to get my truck looked at. The trust has been BROKEN and after talking to the manager who was a nice guy, I told him he should investigate who worked on my truck and thouroughly school them on how to diagnose a vehicle. I paid $275 for a new tire less than 3 months ago. That tire went flat. The woman on the phone said it was "under a lifetime warranty." Then the tire changer said it's not because he could see cords and I didn't get it aligned so I had to pay for a new tire this time too. Sooo, why didn't they tell me I needed an alignment last time I was here and just do it? And why did the lady say it was under warranty when it may not have been? She didn't say "unless." Had to have my van towed in due to bolts that had snapped off. They had already called around to get the parts before we arrived, which unfortunately for my group had to be ordered and wouldn't arrive from the Ford dealer until first thing the next morning. They gave me the quote and told me that it wouldn't be more than that but could be less. When I arrived the next morning it was already being worked on and was ready before the expected time and at a lesser amount. They also let me know that since they were already replacing each wheels lug they noticed one of my brake pads was wearing more than the other and noted it on my paperwork. They also told me to get my lugs torqued after 50 miles just as a precaution, which I did at another of there locations as we were driving home. They offered great service, which can be difficult to come by in the repair world. I would definitely recommend this location! If you have to get tires at any Les Schwab, always choose to get any other Les Schwab possible than this one they tell you time frames that are unrealistic they will make you wait an hour or two for a $20 patch. They don't care at all and when you even calmly try to discuss it with them, the little girl behind the counter gets an attitude who should never be working a customer service or she can't handle that as well as the guy that I used to trust with my vehicle seems to all of a sudden have a problem, this place is trash. Well, it all started out so good and then they disappointed me. Stace helped me when I was getting prices and all went well. He explained that if they did not have commercial accounts requiring service, the day of installation, they could install while I waited, if not, I could leave my RV and they would call when ready. I arrived today at about 9:30 am. The gentleman at the commercial tire area said he could install in about an hour so I decided to wait. 2 1/2 hours later, I asked if there was a problem. The service tech took me back to check on my RV. The gentleman there stated he would be done in few minutes, so I continued to wait. One hour later, I had to ask again, what was taking so long. At that point I was pretty upset. After 3 1/2 hours they finally had me pay for the six tires. My receipt was not given to me and the service technician said he would get the manager. When the manager finally arrived, five minutes later, he asked me what was going on. I said I wanted to get my RV back. I told him I was upset because of the long wait and if they would have told me the wait would be so long, I would have had my wife pick me up 3 1/2 hours earlier. All he said was " well it's done now". P Is this how this location treats their customers? When I went to get my RV, the gentleman that said it would be ready in a few minutes explained that he was called out to a commercial repair and left someone else there to do my tire replacement. When he returned he found that that person was also called out for another service. Then, after telling me a few minutes, he completed the work and place the completed work order on "the counter " and forgot to tell anyone that the work was done. THIS LES SCHWAB LOCATION IS POORLY MANAGED. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS LOCATION. To date, the tires and price were OK but service after making the sale is one of the worst I have experienced. I am sorry to say that this location in Grants Pass, Oregon is terrible. This morning I discovered my truck had a flat tire. Since I have been a customer using Les Schwab Tire Centers for close to 20 years from California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, and now Oregon. I called the closest location to home, explained I have a flat and intend to air tire up and come in the man who answered said "no problem we are a bit slow and can handle it right away". So here I am. Arrived @0954 and now it's 1129 and a tech JUST moved my truck. From here on I will always get the name of whom I spoke to, and if they suddenly grew a crowd then I could ask for who I spoke with and try to get a defined time frame. All the poor girl at the counter could say was "sorry for the delay " Now my issue wasn't planned, and I had to just "pop" in. The one thing to remember is that this is a service business that can have heavy street traffic at the drop of the hat, so when you can make an appointment, but when you're a "drop in" as I was.... I trust this Team! They're prompt and professional. I went in expecting to spend $600 on front brakes (including rotors) and at the least I was expecting to pay was $299 for pads, calipers and turn my rotors. They told me I didn't need a brake job yet and showed me how thick the pads still are and they also inspected my rotors and told me it wasn't necessary to spend the money. They also showed me an oil leak I have under my car, a hose clamp needs to be tightened that attaches to my oil filter assembly unit. He even checked my oil filter to make sure it was on tight enough. I am so grateful for their care and honesty and you can be certain I will go only to them when it is time for me to have brakes done. read more

Preface: I taught suspension and steering at the community college level in the past as well as working as a suspension and steering tech for a number of years here in the Rouge Valley. I took my wife's car in for a flat at the Agnes Avenue location in Grants Pass. They found slop in the steering that was causing heavy wear to the front tires. I schedule future repair appointment. I later had the repairs completed. The alignment after the repairs produced a car that was unstable and spooky to drive at best because the back end of the car was unpredictable in turns that was no previously present (work performed on Friday afternoon). I returned the on Monday to have them fix a clearly misaligned car and return directional wheels that had been installed incorrectly to their intended location. Waited half the day to be told that they wanted to replace more parts and charge me for another alignment. Frustrated, I returned to the car to discover that the front wheels were still on the wrong sides. I returned to the showroom to inquire why one of my original concerns for the comeback was not addressed. They waffled , and then pulled the car back in to swap the wheels. The alignment tech (who had "aligned" the car on Friday finds a bad left upper strut mount (should have been caught during this initial inspection before the first alignment). Manager refunds the repairs and tells me that they are done working on the car and that I should take it to a full service shop. I carefully drove the car home and performed a string alignment (with good results) to repair the faulty alignment. Bottom line: Les Schwab on Agnes Avenue in Grants Pass cannot be trusted to do quality work, and the work that they do does not seem to have any real guarantee based on my experience. read more

All 4 of my tires was out of balance by a little more than a OZ and said they was fine LOL. After that my truck still felt the same when I took it in. These guys are scam artists. Every time I've come in they always find something else wrong and give you "Well I can't legally let you leave with it like that" line. I asked about prorating as I live remotely, work long hours, and don't get to town often. The service professional copped a total attitude toward me about prorating, Making faces and sighing,. I thanked him and left. Unfortunately, I was also planning on getting new tires for my truck same day but I went somewhere else where they have employees with manners. Also only two staff out of 6 in the indoor area were wearing masks appropriately. I was visiting Grants Pass and blew a tire late on a Saturday. I did some research on the tires I wanted because My car was due to get new tires anyway. The site said I could get these tires on Tuesday. The cheaper set could be done on Monday. I set up the appointment for Tuesday. I arrived and 30 minutes later i was informed they only had 3 of the tires I had asked for. I had to get the cheap set that I could have gotten the previous day. I didnt feel a priority. They waited as I phoned family and got guidance. It took quitecawhile to.get the new tires. I asked if my spare had been checked out and was assured it was and that they even make sure it's put back where it goes. It was actually thrown in the trunk on top of my valuables that were covered by my dogs pool. No regard for my car, my belongings, or my frustration at not being told before hand that the tires i wanted were not available. My main question about the difference between the 2 tires was never actually addressed. I wasnt rude or nasty to anyone yet I feel that I became unimportant very quickly. We have used Les Schwab for generations and thos is so below what we thought they stood for. A few years ago, I had my tires serviced by another Grants pass location and had my lug posts stripped by a backwards power tool. It took a long time to rectify that and I was treated poorly like it was my fault. Im not a person to be hateful. The lug nuts were replaced by them for 2 tires but they made me pay for the others. Im not sure that I will use them again and family is feeling the same way. For my experience today, I was made to feel like " oh well, sorry". I worked in the automotive industry for close to 20 years so I'm very weary about mechanics and tire centers as they do not have the best reputations for being honest. With that being said the employees at this Les Schwab location are amongst the most honest I've ever met. I've brought my car here 3 times and was thrown back with how focused the employees were with diagnosing the problem but more importantly not to sell me any unnecessary services. As a matter of fact they advised to not purchase several items to save me money. Last week I got a flat and was able to drive it here. Within an hour they patched my tire and it was for free. I tried to tip the guy and he told me that he was very well paid and wasn't allowed to take tips, which was an even more incredible. Let me know how long it would be. + While Chris was writing me up, they must have received 4 phone calls. With each, he tried to give them the information they needed efficiently, and when it seemed like it was going to be longer, he let them know he was with a customer and that he'd get back to them as soon as possible. + When it was clear that all front desk was helping a customer and/or on the phone, and another phone call rang, a MECHANIC ran in from the bay, sprinting to a phone to answer it and take care of a customer. Impressed. + They called my name when the job was done, and let me know that it was a really simple thing to take care of, and that it would be complimentary. (We've come here in the past, but only a few times.) + They additionally checked pressure in the spare (and filled it up), and all the other tires while they were at it. + When I bought chains, the lady (missed her name) rung me up, but while ringing me up, asked me what they were for. When I mentioned the pass we were going through, the weather report, and the fact we had a set of chains at home, she said that likely we wouldn't need the chains, and that she would put the receipt in the box -- after we made it through the pass, if we wanted to, we could return them at a Les Schwab provided they hadn't been used. That was honest on both letting us know we probably wouldn't need them and on the possibility of returning them. + The waiting area is pretty comfortable and has wifi -- relatively rare in Grants Pass (I only know of two coffee shops, Shari's and the McDonalds near I-5, and the public library where it's available). Cons - None Note: someone mentioned that they encountered disorganization and a broken computer system. They replaced their computer systems November 2012 and it seemed from my two visits that service was very efficient. The last time I came here was about 17 years ago to have my brakes checked. They had been working fine but I was going on a long trip and wanted to make sure everything looked good. I drove in with completely good brakes & left with none. About a mile down the road I realized I had no brakes at all. Took it back cause I didn't know where else to go & they charged me $600 to fix the brakes that they deliberately screwed up. Today when I started my new truck, the battery was dead. I decided to give this location a 2nd chance. BIG MISTAKE. All I asked them to do was install a new battery & check the alternator. They said it would take an hour. Two & a half hours later they finished up. While they were ringing me up, I asked if the alternator was good. I got a confused look and after tracking down the guy who worked on my rig, I was told he didn't even bother checking it! The gentlemen my husband spoke to on the phone said yes so we made the trip to les schawb and once we got there another guy was really rude and said they do not mount and balance tires they haven't sold us. Very unorganized, poor computer systems (it takes about 20-25 minutes to figure out who you are and what you ordered), inadequate knowledge about cars and tires (they wanted to put the wrong size tires on my car), and poor customer service (they leave you waiting, don't call and let you know when things are in, flat our rude).
