Beware! My daughter took my car in because the tire had a slow leak. The man called her back and said she needed 4 new tires (the tires are only 1 year old) he said they would be ordered and she could pick them up tomorrow and it would be over $700 she said no ill just pick up the car. The man was rude and said no you can't pick up your car until tomorrow and pay the $700, mind you the new tires were not agreed too. My husband called and said he was picking up the car. When he went to pick up the car it was parked in the front with a totally flat tire. My husband checked the tire, and it was flat because they did not put the valve stem back in. Not only were they rude and made my daughter feel uncomfortable, but because we said no to their tires they tried to hold the car hostage. My daughter is 18 she should not have been treated like she was stupid. Additionally, these types of practices seem predatory and uncalled for. We will not be returning. Blew a tire on my Trailer on US 80 outside Battle Mountain. Got to Winnemucca and found this Les Schwab. Cristal helped me right away. She said 2 to 2 1/2 hrs. Let us bring the Cat inside out of the rain and heat. It only took 1 hr, they replaced all 4 tires as they needed it (even tho the tires are only 4 yrs, but the trailer sits for long periods). Worst experience in my life. I called a week prior, got an appointment, showed up 45 minutes early, waited a hour, to be told by the manager it's my responsibility to give them my Vin # and mileage. After 12 years of patronage w/Les Schwab, incl. $2,300 of tires at this location a few months ago, LS just tried to charge me for about $1,200 of unnecessary parts! There was no misunderstanding the call my two daughters witnessed from my disabled car on the side of the hwy. Here's what happened so you understand it wasn't a mistake. After putting minor mileage on a new set of tires, a front tire blew out on my AWD car. When I called Les Schwab in Winnemucca to order a tire, the CSR said I'd have to replace all four. When I asked if that would depend on the wear, she said the shop requires me to replace all four regardless of how new they are. For those who aren't aware, it's often appropriate to replace all four tires when only one looks like it needs replacing on AWD vehicles. This is b/c the tires can roll with a circumference difference large enough to harm the tranny. Because of this, BMW and legitimate tire shops measure the difference between the tire depths. If within specs, they will not require you to replace all tires. Requiring (vs. recommending) me to replace more parts than is needed sounds like a scam, but I thought there might have been a misunderstanding. I asked the CSR "if I punctured one tire on a new set after just 1,000 miles, why would I need to replace the others when there would be no difference in the tires' circumference? Requiring me to buy four new tires without determining the need sounds like fraud." She replied that it is store policy to replace all four regardless of the wear on AWDs and that I could speak to the manager to understand why. I welcomed an opportunity to learn something new or have the mgr say something like, "we often require that but would need to inspect your tires to say for sure." Instead, the manager said 1) the store's policy of replacing all four regardless of their condition is to prevent tranny damage, and 2) since I used the word "fraud," Les Schwab was unwilling to service me even if I agreed for them replace all four tires. When I politely asked why, he rudely interrupted me to restate the above which didn't answer my question. Let's fact-check. Les Schwab claimed its store policy was to avoid transmission damage. Since BMW knows my car better than anyone, I asked BMW of North America for its position. A helpful CSR, Frank, assured me that BMW sees no need to replace the other tires as long as the difference in tread depth does not exceed 3/32". That's as authoritative as it gets but I decided to also see what Les Schwab's website says on the matter. LS's website has an article called, "Should You Replace All Four Tires on Your AWD Vehicle?" That article says, "At Les Schwab Tire Centers, we use a tread depth gauge to accurately measure the tread depth as a complimentary service. We can then help you decide if a full set of new tires would be best." Dun dun dah! Their own website says they measure to see if new tires are needed. Winnie's Les Schwab FAILED both fact checks. Its next mistake was refusing to serve me. The mgr should have acknowledged he was speaking with an informed consumer and agreed to measure the tread depth before making that call. Why is the Winnemucca location departing from its written policy and from the guidance of my car's manufacturer? Was that policy meant for public consumption but some shops take a different approach, like a national lube shop scandal many years ago? I then called Big O in Winnemucca and relayed my situation without describing my experience w/ Les Schwab. Big O said it would order the tire but would need to replace all four if the difference in tread depth exceeded specs. Now that was the correct response! If you don't want to replace perfectly good tires, visit a shop with integrity. Or at least one that follows its own written policy. Or at least one that will not "fire you" as a customer for trying to understand why the shop is departing from its written policy. Or at least one that doesn't contradict the requirements of your car's manufacturer. You get the idea. read more

If I could give them less stars I would. Will not work on lifted vehicles. If you buy your tires from them but want someone else to install them all warranty is void! I bought tires from them and were charged shipping fees plus lost all warranty because my daughter is taking auto shop at the local high school and wanted to put them on. I figured won't hurt plus it will give her a sense of accomplishment and something to do. She learns hands on. Once Les Schwab finds out I'm having someone else install them the shipping goes up $100 and all warranty is void. Just because the my daughter wants to install them in auto shop. I want her to learn to do things but I guess Les Schwab is against women in education. I'll take my chance and let her do it. They can take the warranty and stuff it. Go around the corner to big o tires for better service. I will never go back to Les Schwab again. This place is horrible. read more

This place is fantastic. For the second time now, they have helped us out while traveling between CA and OR with our truck and horse trailer. The first time we had a tire issue - problem solved in 10 minutes, no charge. Today my wind shield wiper nozzles stopped spraying fluid. I couldn't figure out how to get them unclogged and didn't know where else to go in Winnemucca. We stopped in there - spoke to a a gracious young man who had us pull around back - popped the hood - found that the nozzle tube had blown off and was no longer connected - he fixed that and sent us on the way - again, no charge. Neither time we stopped in did they even have to help us - but the folks that work there are fantastic and went out of their way to keep us safe. We buy all our tires at our local Les Schwab in CA, but if we ever need anything in Winnemucca, this will absolutely be the place we will come. read more

My tire blew out ~20 miles outside of town (heading to Reno) and the spare tire didn't fit. I had to be towed to their shop with the hope to have the tire fixed and avoid purchasing a full set of 4 tires. It was 1 hour before closing time and they jumped on the projects. They were able to fix the tire, rather than charging me ~$1,300. Also, they located 5 shorter lug nuts that fit the spare rim. Lastly, they told me there was no charge! Their hospitality put a smile on our faces...after a 2 hour wait on the highway for the tow truck! We had no problems making it to Reno. Great place, awesome service and even better people! read more

I have always been a customer of Les schwabs,I have family that have worked and retired from Les schwabs.We were stranded on the road on the other side of mc Dermitt nv the closed Les Schwabs was in Winnemucca ( 5th wheel blow out) I called and talked to Brenda very nice person Jaun came to our rescue very knowledgeable great job,we were going in in the morning to get 14 ply tire ,he brought a 12 ply he said they would give yah some credit for this tire. we also had to buy new rims since they wouldn't match other wise to make a long story short Mr Kory the manager said oh we don't do that so we kept the tire for a spare,I felt like he was just very rude and his mannerism was way off I have never gotten this from any one at a schwabs so I needed to vent maybe he was having an off day but I just spent $ 2.400 dollars between 2 days there the least he could have been was pleasant....... read more

A few weeks ago, I was in Winnemucca, NV, with my three grandsons, and one of my grandsons noticed that one of the tires on our vehicle was low. I stopped in to the Les Schwab and had air added, but, after I drove away, I got to worrying that it wouldn't be safe driving back to Reno. I called to see if they could look at the tire and whoever answered the phone told me they'd fit me in even though they were swamped. Turns out, the tire had a nail in it. Traveling back to Utah from California and my truck was having sensor issues. Didn't know a thing about Winnemucca except what the Map App would show. Pull up to the building an see one car in the lot and some people inside. One of which turns around and locks the door. Doesn't even have the common courtesy to come out and have a simple conversation with us. We kinda needed help. I don't care if it is Sunday and you are closed. I was traveling from Chico to Boise and was feeling pretty drowsy when I drove through Winnemucca so I decided to pull off and park at this Sports Complex parking lot to take a nap. Well I accidentally left my lights on and by the time I woke up my old beat up junker was dead. Of course there was no one around and my phone was dead (always seems to be out of juice soon as you really need it)! I was really unhappy with their service. Had new front brakes and rotors put on my Motor home 2 wks ago in Redmond, OR Led Schwab and my ABS light came on and they felt spongy. Caught a nail in my rear passenger tire in my 2001 Rav4 on Midas Road. Took it in and was immediately greeted by the front desk. After hanging them my keys, I took a seat in their adjacent waiting area (pretty big, with a ton of magazines if that's your thing), free popcorn and coffee, and free wifi. I was told it would take 30-60 minutes, due to it being Friday morning (They said Mondays and Fridays were their busiest days of the week). Well after about 30 minutes, they called me over and my tire was fixed! No charge either! Great experience overall. I know where to go now whenever I have tire issues in Winnemucca. read more
