I did a coast to coast road trip and my maintenance light came on and I knew that meant I needed to change my oil. I searched on Yelp for closest auto service shop and this one popped up and had 5 star reviews so I called and David answered and actually took me in which was a relief since most places needed an appointment. He even let me walk in the work area and showed what he is doing and recommended things I will be needing to get done. Like ai said he was SUPER helpful. Usually oil/auto shops won't let you go in where they are working and don't have time to explain to you but this place does! I love that since then I know they are working on what needs to be done. These guys are ace. Around 10pm in late April, I had a water pump fail just as I was passing Winnemucca on I-80, rendering my Grand Caravan inoperable. I was trying to get to Denver to photograph my best friend's wedding, 2 days later, so I didn't have much time to lose. After reading a few recent stellar Yelp reviews, I decided to park outside Parry's and call them first thing in the morning for help. They were busy with multiple projects, telling me in advance they may not have time to get me on the road as quickly as I'd hoped, but they'd take a look. They quickly diagnosed a failed water pump and ordered the parts. There were a couple unexpected challenges when working on it due to the way the van was designed (the bolts that secure the water pump to the engine block snapped- it's a common issue), but due to Ricky's expertise, they were able to find a solution and had me back on the road by 5pm. The guys were personable, competent, and efficient. I can't thank them enough for getting me moving so quickly- it was unexpected and deeply appreciated. The van has driven perfectly since then, and the wedding was great. I wouldn't have been there if it wasn't for Parry's. Thanks guys. Highly recommend. read more

My husband took my Durango there to get a timing chain and gears replaced. It took them over a week to get that done. By the time they were done, it cost my husband $1300.00, and my Durango still doesn't run. Mind you, we had the parts already. Now I have to get a new motor for my Durango. So not happy. read more

Car broke down 120 miles from Winnemucca and on a Sunday! Every service station was closed including Parry's. Luckily I got Ricky on the phone who was gracious enough to help me on his day off. He ordered the water pump and some belts- which all the action had pointed us in- while i was getting towed over there. When i got there Ricky let me know there was nothing wrong with the water pump and it was actually a couple screws that had popped off a different part saving me the money on an expensive part. His honesty and thoroughness looking at all the possible scenarios for what happened definitely put me at ease considering i still had a long way to drive and was pulling a trailer. These folks are incredible. I blew my radiator in Winnemucca on a road trip from Boise to Los Angeles and every garage in town was booked for the whole week. I called them and spoke to Steve, explained my situation, and even though they were booked solid, he happily agreed to try and sneak me in. I spent a good amount of time at the shop, and all the mechanics were great. Super knowledgeable, friendly, and were turning over repaired cars faster than I could believe (with constant smiles, jokes, and an overall unbelievably welcoming environment). Ricky checked my car out, diagnosed my failed parts in a matter of minutes, and they sent me on my way while I waited for the pieces I ordered to arrive, which was up in the air because of shipping delays. The parts came in right at 1:00, I called them up and they had my truck pulled apart by 1:30. By 2:00 it was fixed. I'm writing this review 200 miles away with a truck in excellent working condition, and nothing but great things to say about my experience at Parry's. If you need repairs, call em up. We ran into trailer trouble on our trip to Idaho--but weren't sure what was wrong. A cashier at the Flying J suggested her cousin Ricky to do the work. I gave him a call and we headed over. He and his crew graciously helped us go from simple changing of tires to diagnosing the need for a full on axle repair. We ended up having to rent a uhaul to finish our trip due to delay in parts arrival, but when we returned Ricky and crew had everything ready for us at a really reasonable price. I arrived in Winnemucca about noon and discovered there was a problem. The engine was overheating and maybe leaking. Could not complete my trip North to Oregon. Tried several repair shops and all were booked. Finally was directed to Parry's Automotive by another shop. Parry's was able to take my car in immediately. Ricky Parry checked and confirmed there was not a leak. Then diagnosed a failed thermostat. Ricky replaced the thermostat then drove the car to check if overheating was gone. I can recommend Parry's unconditionally. He got me back on the road allowing me to complete my trip. He was very thorough in checking that the car was OK to make the trip, since the trip North was through an unpopulated area and mostly had no cell service. Ricky Parry was very professional in diagnosing and repairing my car in a timely manner and was very reasonable in his charges. I am so thankful that I happened upon Parry's that day. I just moved to winnemucca last year and i had to find a new, good, local mechanic for my cars. That's when a friend of mine told me to check out Parry's Automotive. I take my car maintenance and mechanics seriously and only want the best of the best working on my vehicles, Ricky Parry did just that. I had two cars in need of service one car in particular had a snapped wire and instead of buying a whole new unit to slap on, ricky used his mechanical skills and fixed the problem at the source which resulted in not needing to buy a new part. Ricky Parry is very knowledgeable and fun to talk with, he was honest with me and what my vehicles needed from the start.. Ricky has many certifications with Ford motor corporation, and was a master mechanic with them for many years...(per our conversations) he also works on diesel motors!!
