I changed my first bearing hub. It appeared to me that there was a hex nut around the spindle. But wasn't a hex nut. It was only a pad sandwiched between two large washers. Appentently none of the employees at Napa, Winnemucca didn't any what it was. They sent me a hex socket that was scatched inside. When I tried to return it I was told I couldn't get a refund because it had been used. Beware of the Napa. They sent me a damaged socket and then would take it back because it was damaged.

We were stuck and our trip was in jeopardy. Blake made a few calls could not locate a mechanic that could work on the vehicle that day and helped me get back to Reno to get a rental vehicle and helped get my vehicle towed back to Sacramento while my family continued our trip. We started home towards CA the next day and the truck just would not handle, it was all over the road. I had to slow down to 45 MPH on I-80 just to feel like I had control. I thought that perhaps we possibly should have replaced all four tires; I felt that must have been the problem. So we stopped at the Walmart in Sparks and had two more new tires installed. I told the installer there what was going on and he said two different types of tires may have had something to do with it but he doubted it. Just for the purposes of uniformity, he checked the two rear tires installed in Winnemucca when he checked the pressure in the two he put on in front. Those two tires were inflated to nearly 60 lbs! Its no wonder the truck was all over the road. It was like driving on two balloons in the back. Recommended pressure was 35 lbs. After that, it drove as it was supposed to. I'm not sure what possessed the tech to put that much air in the tires. We were lucky we did not lose control or have a blowout.

So 54,000 miles is high mileage that`s a new one on me. He did not want to put in the 10/30 because in his opinion, it was not full synthetic as we asked for. My wife showed him the receipt from the last Walmart, then he claimed the Walmart in Pahrump Nv under charged us, and there was a Big Deal about that. The young man was slow especally considering there were no other customers. He was arguemenative, aragent and was not nearly as knowledgable as he should have been. We were traveling and own an automotive business. The young man should not be opening this shop on his own without some sort of experienced supervision. The oil change was compleated and we continued on our trip.

We were passing through Winnemucca on Tuesday and Wednesday July 21st/22nd when I had an issue with…read moremy F-250. I stopped by Wednesday morning as we were proceeding out of town with a noise within the engine compartment. Diana (customer service lead) quickly made arrangements for a technician (Bryce sp?) to take a quick ride and troubleshoot the noise. He quickly identified it was coming from near the transmission. The service dept was able to perform a full diagnostic later that day to determine it was a faulty starter Bendix gear. The replacement starter was several days out from delivery. I worked with Diana to expedite the part for a much quicker delivery. The part arrived on Friday morning and I was notified that they will fit me into the schedule for that day for the replacement. It was done by 1:00 p.m. that afternoon. We were soon on our way after that. I would like to thank Diana, Bryce, Alethea, and most likely the shop Foreman for getting us The truck repaired and underway much sooner than anticipated. I would highly recommend Humboldt Ford to anyone needing service on their vehicles.
