I was concerned about my vehicle having brakes that caused the rotors to be extremely hot to the touch after just a few miles of driving. So, I decided to visit Les Schwab Tire Center on 1st street in Yakima while I was visiting. I explained my concerns and was told they would assign someone to look at my brakes as soon as they could. Their store was swamped though. It looked like everyone picked that day to have work done on their cars!! I had to wait about an hour for someone to look at my truck. That's how busy they were! Thankfully they had a little waiting area with a tv tuned to American Ninja Warrior, free popcorn, and a drink and snack vending machines. Eventually an employee sought me out to explain that my brakes were ok. They were just heating up. I was also informed that my rear brakes were getting close to needing a replacement , but the front brakes were ok. For now. I was very impressed that they didn't try to talk me into any repairs and were straightforward with me. I will seek out a Les Schwab when it is time for me to replace my brakes! read more

Bought tires online and went to Les Schwab new location in W Valley Yakima, was quoted the highest price for mount and balance I have ever encountered in my 55 years of driving. I have been a Les Schwab customer since the 1970's and got totally bent over by this pompous jerk. I told him I see I'm being punished for buying online and coming here for labor. he said no, your just going to pay the full price. I ask if I could have the winter tire change over which I always have done at Les Schwab for around $110.00, dismount , mount and balance. I was told by fat head that no, I couldn't get that price. Paid $270 for mount and balance 4 tires. I Said go ahead knowing I will never go to Les Slob again unless it's for a free flat repair, lol. To top it all off the invoice was all f-ed up, no charge for disposal but charged for 4 TPMS rebuilds? Idiots that are total rip offs. Glad I'll NEVER go there again. Worse than Wal-mart. read more

We drive a Mercedes Sprinter motor home. Vehicle was vibrating at speed and had front uneven tire wear. I called ahead for appointment for two front tires and alignment. I was specific that I had sprinter. Got to shop and was told they could not do alignment. I luckily was able to arrange alignment at shop not too far away. Before leaving Les Schwab I asked if they checked the tire pressure in my back 4 tires. The guy said he hadn't checked the tire pressure in the back tires. Turns out I had a destroyed tire on the inside of the dual wheel in back that I was unaware of. I was about to leave a tire shop with a very dangerous situation that should have been caught. We were going to drive a winding mountain road to Mount Rainier. The manager did not apologize or give an excuse but was happy to sell me 4 more tires. read more

I'm normally not the ranting type but good gosh. 2002 S First St Yakima, WA Les Schwab just lost me as a loyal customer of almost 10 years. Talked with them on the phone before I dropped off the car. Advised them that my car has wheel spacers and the very nice woman on the phone let me know that it would be okay "we will figure it out, you're fine." Set and appointment for 11am today. 11/26/2025 Car was dropped off and they had it all day while I was at work. 11am -5:35pm. I called them at 2:53pm to check on how things were going. If they had any questions, concerns or issues. Call log shows where i spoke with them for 2 min and 36 seconds. They let me know "it's in line for tires right now. It will be done by 5pm." GREAT!!! I get off work at 5 and arrive at 5:30 to pick up my car, I'm excited. I've always loved Les Swabs and their customer service, specifically the Selah location, they've been amazing. Pulled into the parking lot and my car hasn't been touched. Same rims and tires on the car that were on it when It was dropped off. When I go inside they had the make, model and year of the car wrong. They had 1999 vw Passat. It's a 2001 Audi a4 Quattro which is what I told them twice over the phone. They didn't have a clear idea of what was going on with it. To give them the benefit of a doubt, I asked them if it was done. They told me "yes it should be." Then they asked the mechanics, the mechanic said "we can't work on it because it has wheel spacers." I asked them why they didn't call me or something to let me know. They told me "we called you at 2:53pm" I showed them my call log showing where I was the one who called them at 2:53pm. They never called me. This is absolutely unacceptable. I bought the car with wheel spacers on it. They're installed because of the break caliper upgrade done to the car prior to me buying the vehicle. Without the wheel spacers the rims will contact the calipers front and rear. They're not willing to help and now I'm stuck not knowing what to do. Called a couple shops around Yakima to see who may be able to help. Firestone didn't understand why they wouldn't work on it seeing as they do that kind of work regularly and do not discriminate on wheel spacers. Hello Firestone. I'm sad to be leaving Les Swabs, they've been my go to since I could drive and the only tire shop I've recommended to everyone I know. This is tragic. I brought my car in for a trip inspection,due to the strut needing replaced,and some thing else is wrong im not quite sure what it is but its getting really bad . After giving my keys to customer service 10 minutes goes by and Pancho comes in tells me everything looks great besides needing 2 new tires . I was really surprised so I asked him you sure nothing is wrong he said yea its fine just those to tires I said what about the horrible noise he said he was told about a noise,well I asked for a trip Inspection he got irritated said he'll take a test drive . Came back and said it drives great nothing wrong . I asked are you sure you drive the right vehicle cause there's definitely something wrong the strut needs replaced and when I trun the corner its rubbing . He was very rude continued with the car is fine . The estimate for 2 tires $385.89 . This place definitely dont care about anyone's safety. Sad read more

While passing a truck on Hwy 97 heading down into Toppenish, one of our tires suddenly blew out. After putting on a spare, we took the damaged tire to Les Schwab (on First St in Yakima) the next morning. We worked with Libby and Patty, who were both fantastic: friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. We had hit a large rock which not only sliced the tire, but also damaged the rim. Libby and Patty located a rim for our 2007 Toyota at a U-Pull-It, in Pasco. We were able to drive to Pasco and return with the rim to Yakima by mid-afternoon. They had a tire ready and within a short time we were on our way again. The folks at Les Schwab went above and beyond! We're customers for life! read more

Update: I was contacted by Ramon the Yakima S First Street manager. We had a good discussion and i was treated fairly. August 19 - Les Schwab on Nob Hill - Open only 10 days Benz E300 AWD -- Tire separation from Road Hazard - Asked Kyle to show me and measure tread depth. 6/32nd. Tire replacement covered under Schwab Warranty (A good deal). Had to replace all 4 tires - Conti AS DWS06 - Kyle tried to include siping them w/o telling me the cost. Why would I sipe these AS tires that don't need more siping? - Tires would be delivered in 2-3 hours. I left. Car ready by 2:30 but I asked to come in the next morning. Now it gets interesting. August 20 - Kyle has installed Conti Sport 2's - A Summer Only tire. Below 45 degrees you are dead. Kyle gets irritated and starts to argue when I point out his mistake - tells me I authorized the 2's because I was unwilling to wait a few days for the 6's. Tells me they are an upgraded tire from the 6's. (They are not an upgrade - they are a different category - they are Summer Only, not All Season tires). He should know that and that I had been running the All Seasons. Had I authorized this tire, why would I have immediately told him he put on the wrong tire? He didn't like that. He told me the DWS06 tire was discontinued and no longer in production. I called Tire Rack on speaker phone and they verified the tire is still produced - he could only glare at me. Then he said he did me a favor by honoring the Road Hazard Warranty that he did not have to (Wow). I am pretty sure he talked to the Manager (Jack) - and they agreed to order the 6's for $352 a tire. I knew that was also incorrect and I eventually paid $303. Tires delivered this day. Did not need the 2-3 extra days for delivery. August 21 - Jack checked me in. I tried to say something about what happened, but he didn't seem interested. So, I don't know what Kyle told him or what he believes. You would think the Manager might want to know. It was kind of a big deal to put a customer through. I also observed Jack quote an elderly man for truck tires including an up-sell for tire siping without disclosing the additional cost (about $20 per tire). Had the fellow bought, it is possible he would not have known until the siping was done and he got the bill. No way to operate if you want to earn the customer's trust. If the Manager does this I understand why Kyle did as well. Top down sales tactics. The store is a nice addition to tire services in West Valley and Les Schwab is a good brand. Had Kyle simply admitted his mistakes, and dispensed with the nonsense, I would not be sending this "constructive" review. Just use caution and ask a lot of questions. read more

They always are willing to check and bring tires up to full pressure, very friendly and no charge. Yesterday, they helped my daughter with a bad problem in her sedan--the metal cover over the transmission had come loose and was dragging on the pavement. The auto shop guys at WalMart just laughed at her and refused to help. Les Schwab to the rescue! They got her back on the road. Service is everything, and this shop has it! read more

Bad place don't go. ((PUTTING AT FIVE STAR SO PPL SEE)) Took the car at 9:00am, was called at 10:30am to get it at 1-2pm. Cool we waited. Hours go by and we called them at 4pm (where by the way I waited half an hour as they tried to figure out what was going on with the car). Then after the call they told us that it'd taken two MORE hours. (PLEASE keep it mind that we made an APPOINTMENT FOR 9 AM) Broooooooo. Like what. Got there at 5:30, and they told us it'd be an ADDITIONAL 45 minutes. Brooo... Yeah, there was a bunch of other people there so at least we were all suffering together as we waited for our car. Finally we got it after complaining and telling them that it was very UNPROFESSIONAL that they didn't communicate with us on the wait time and how they told us one thing and then keep dragging it on. If youre a company who CANT KEEP UP, then dont make us have bad expierences!!!! Oh YEAH to make it worse. "Libby" the front receptionist told us we'd get our alignment for free (after I was told we couldnt get a discount for a bad expierenced). So the alignment isnt on the reciept but they told us "We hope that the no charged alignments makes you want to come back" and we responded "No, why would we come back to a business that lies to its customers?" Oh yeah BY THE WAY THEY NEVER DID THE ALIGNMENT. THE CAR STILL GOES TO THE SIDE ONLY THE BREAK WAS FIXED. I had the worst experience I have ever had at a Les Schwab anywhere at this location a few weeks ago, and I've been coming to L.S. for over 20 years. Inexcusably weak service! I have a '99 Accord (VERY common car). I went in for new tires and was told they didn't have any in stock, but they did at the store in Wapato about 10 miles away. I really wanted to get this done as I was returning to Seattle over the pass the next day and knew there would be a chance for snow, so I offered to go pick up the tires and bring them back to this store to install as Wapato was unable to do an alignment without an appointment. So I brought the tires back to Yakima and waited for about 1.5 hours (not that big of a deal for tires). They came to me and told me that they couldn't use those tires. I asked why not. They said because those were not the size recommended by the manufacturer. I said "excuse me?" Why did you have me drive all the way out to Wapato and back if these were the wrong size? And how do you not know the size of the tires I purchased at a Les Schwab in Spokane 18 months before?? I was told because they would have to "dig into their system" to get that information! Or you could just search tire size for one of the most common cars sold in the state of Washington or walk 50 feet to my car to get the right size. Inexcusable! The ONLY reason I'm giving this location the 2nd star is because the manager was very apologetic for the mix-up and allowed me to return the tires at this store that I got in Wapato. Thanks for that. Sincerely.... On a related topic, as i was returning to Seattle the next day, sure enough, I got caught in a very heavy snow storm on the pass. I was just about at the summit when the heaviest snow hit and when traffic came to a standstill. As I was stop and go in traffic, my car was constantly squirreling around in the snow. I went in for a flat repair and ended up needing all 4 tires replaced. This was a big blow financially. The staff and GM were extremely helpful(and 100% understanding)in helping me get financing and a great payment plan. The service technician explained exactly what he did to make my tires/car back into top driving condition. Everyone is extremely kind and patient!! We are loyal LS customers for many years. This was our first experience at the Yakima store. We are just starting the first leg of a trip to Texas from Seattle and realized that our axle on the travel trailer must have been bent. Pulled into LS and were greated immediately. They checked it out and agreed that we had a problem. They ordered the axle right away and went to pick it up. They even let us stay the night in their parkling lot--not exactly the peaceful and beautiful scenery we were hoping for . . . but it was very nice of them to do for us. They got to the replacement first thing the following morning. Everyone was polite and friendly. We spent the morning in the lobby using their free wifi. The price for parts and labor was very fair. We love LS and this store did not disappoint. read more

This place is a joke. Years ago they sold me tires and told me they were made by Falken. A year later there was barely any tread left. I get doing some research and turns out that the tires they sold me were less Schwab brand and there was a huge lawsui against them nationwide from doing this to other customers. On another occasion my dad brought in one of his semi's for new tires and they replaced his nice chrome wheels for some cheaper looking ones and when my dad noticed they tried lying and saying those were the wheels it came in on. My dad went out in back and found his wheels covered up under a tarp. He confronted the manager Joel (who now owns Joel's tire) and he swore up and down those weren't his wheels under the tarp. After calling the police they admitted to taking the wheels off the truck and replacing them with others. read more

Starting to wonder where the old LS went? Been to both locations now in Yakima and neither are great. They don't communicate well and they don't really seem to treat you the same if you did not buy your tires at "this" location. Had an awfully long wait and noticed at least 2 maybe 3 people who came in after me leave before me. All I needed was a simple flat fix? Is that more difficult than a tire-rotation? Didn't even bother to ask them to do that I'd probably have had to wait another two hours. Just mediocre and not up to LS standards - or at least the old standard. read more

The free snow tire change out from purchasing their tires is very slow on busy days. Even if you have tires already mounted (which would take about 10 minutes to change out) you still end up waiting for hours on end while current paying customers are serviced first regardless of how long their appointment is. It's even longer when you leave, as they place you in the back of the line. They need to better prioritize their customer service and give accurate wait times for their customers. Though it was a busy Saturday morning, I wasn't expecting to wait 3+ hours for my car's tires to be changed out. By that time, I didn't recognize anyone else who had been waiting since that morning, and had even seen people who came in afterward, leaving before me. On the positive side, the staff was overall quite friendly. I'm just glad I only need to do this twice a year. read more

Les Schwab has good tires but terrible customer service. I am currently waiting for my winter tires to be changed out, and they just started on them an hour and 15 minutes after I got here. I was here 2 minutes after they opened and was given no estimate on time. When I asked, after waiting patiently for 50 minutes, a very rude lady said "oh we're at like two hours." She walked away without saying where she was going and started whistling. She came right back and said "oh yours is next." She still didn't give an estimate, and she was not polite. I would classify her attitude as just shy of apathetic. She didn't care how long I waited or how long I had to wait. It looks like maybe I might be out of here after an 1 1/2 hour total. Just changed over my tire's from studs to regular tread. While waiting for my car, I was told that I needed to replace my front end suspension at over $700.00. The car had been driving fine until I received it back from them. The steering wheel wabbled and steering was difficult. I called them the next day and they denied doing anything to the car. The manager said it was because the tires(purchased at Les schwab, and only used in the summer months, had worn and the tread was coming apart. 3 yrs ago these tires were brand new and cost nearly $900.00. So they sold me some very cheap tires at a very expensive price. This is because I used to trust them to do the right thing. Well, they do the right thing for themselves and screw the customer. Worst Experience EVER! I don't even treat dog poo with this much disrespect!!!! I was greeted by Erica who was at the front desk. No smile nothing. I explained my tire blew out that I had bought them here a year ago. They wouldn't honor their warranty, which would have been okay, but the attitude I received the whole time I was there was completely unacceptable! I asked to see the tires that were quoted so I could see the tread as the tires that I got last year from this place were well.. inferior quality to my standards. They were completely put out by this, like it was such a chore to take me over to the tires. While she was halfheartedly showing me tires more attitude was thrown my way. then I explained more about my tire that I had just bought it last year she went out and looked at it gave me even more attitude, then what did me in was I asked if they gave any sort of military discount. If you just tell me no I am usually ok with it, although I do think you should treat the men and women who serve our country a little better then what they get. Anyway the Attitude with this was just astounding. She looked away and Uhh NO, with such a snide tone that I was seriously dumbfounded. I have worked in customer service for years and Never have I treated anyone with this much disrespect, even as people cussed and yelled at me, and I did none of this to her. I've been to this store several times and have been disappointed every time. This last one was the last straw. A while ago I brought my car in to replace the passenger side axle and paid quite a bit for it. On the last visit I found that they had replaced the driver's side axle instead, which didn't need it. It was a complete waste of money and I still had to get the passenger one replaced. Not only that, but they told me a bolt on the control arm was loose and had to be fixed, but at a dealer as they didn't have the bolt (however, they could, of course, do the rest of the work and charge me $400 for it...). They said that this was high priority and needed to be done immediately. This was a complete lie. The bolt was stripped and not going anywhere. All they wanted was my money and didn't give a shit about lying to and cheating money out of a pregnant woman. Thankfully a family member with lots of car knowledge told me the truth. That's not all though. About a year ago they told me I needed to replace a clip for the steering, but it'd be fine to drive on for a month or more more. This was also a lie. A family member told me the clip was near breaking and I could lose control of the steering, crash, and die. The people here don't know what they're doing and don't care about their customer's lives. Absolutely fantastic experience last week!!! We needed a lot of work done to our truck so I arrived first thing in the morning, they gave me a full quote, showed me the work that needed to be done and pointed out the problems. They then completed the work by late afternoon/early evening in time for me to pick up the vehicle and go to work that night. We needed rotors, shocks, brakes, tie rod ends, etc replaced and they managed it all within a day. They were open early, before their website opening time and accepting customers. Pat was the first to help first thing in the morning and he was polite, respectful, and professional. Derrick was the young man who reviewed the inspection and work to be done with me and he was excellent as well. Polite, thorough, and professional. When I arrived to pay for the work and pick up my vehicle the office manager stayed past to help with all the late business as customers picked up their vehicles. It was a great experience, and I appreciate the excellent service. This is the only Les Schwab in town I will go to! read more
