This was the last dinner of our honeymoon, people, and it was amazing! It was also Jon's birthday dinner, so I wanted to find something extra-memorable in Montmartre. This beautiful little restaurant was just around the corner from where we were staying. While it was near the super touristy strip that the Moulin Rouge is on, never fear, this spot is worlds beyond the dozens of bistros with matching menus that you'll come across in Paris. You'll find it down a little tiny street, sit down inside, and be so cozy and happy. We were feeling fancy and we'd also recently been watching Chef's Table on Netflix, so we decided to order the 6 course tasting menu. It was so fantastic! You don't know what's coming, but you know it'll look and taste gorgeous. And of course at a place like this, I felt super comfortable letting the staff know that I have to eat gluten free. I was able to totally relax and just enjoy what they put in front of me! A few of my courses were different than Jon's, but they were each incredible. If you have any food issues/allergies/preferences, just let them know. Les Tantes Jeanne will certainly take great care of you. We enjoyed so many colorful, insanely delicious dishes. Scallops with grapefruit sorbet and grapes, egg with black truffles, duck ceviche with a beet root foam, a stunning piece of fish with caviar, Wagyu beef cooked rare with the most perfect roasted tomatoes, rose water ice cream... It was nuts. And they had an immense selection of beautiful wines to choose from (take their recommendations). We started with the speciality cocktail and enjoyed a beautiful Bordeaux the rest of the evening. Prices are reasonable for this level of service and quality of cuisine. It's not way too fancy-fancy or anything, but it's very intimate and you'll be treated so well. We had the very best time! Overall good experience. Had a great table in the front of the place. The staff felt under sized for the number of people but the food was really nice. Started with the foam starter which was a nice combination of flavors. Went to the fois gras which was wonderfully flavorful and combinations. Then the fish was light well cooked and wonderful. I took a different approach for finding dinner reservations this evening. I spoke to the concierge at the hotel!!! Now this is typically not the best idea and will often lead to tourist traps. The current reviews were assuring enough for me to give it a shot and it was well worth it!! First let me warn you. This is not a cheap restaurant. There are two tasting menu options. One for €145 and the other for €85 (discovery tasting menu). The price alone is the only reason for a 4 star review. But if that's not as big of a concern, this is easily a 5 start establishment. The wait staff and sommelier were excellent. They had perfect etiquette typical of high end French restaurants. They were all quite attentive to detail, well-mannered and quite helpful with regards to dinner choices. The discovery tasting menu offered 6 courses. 2 starters 2 mains, and 2 desserts which may seem like a lot but it's a good amount of food for one person. The starters consisted of a duck foe gras and caviar dish. The main dishes included a 65 day aged beef (outrageously delicious) and fish (which was equally good). The dessert was the perfect ending to the meal. See photos!!! Would highly recommend if in the area for the Moulin Rouge show (which is also a MUST!) Again this is easily a 5 star restaurant I just want people to be aware that the tasting menu puts you at €€€€ rather than €€€! read more

This place is amazing. We made a reservation for New year's dinner. Upon arriving, we were greeted promptly and escorted to our table. Our hostess was wonderful and we got the best seat in the house. Everything from the table setting to the decor inside was really cute. We opted to go for their discovery menu which was a 6 course meal and we were not disappointed. Everything was served with perfection and the presentation was marvelous! I would definitely recommend this place for a romantic dinner date. It is also located within walking distance from Moulin Rouge. Definitely make a reservation as the seating are very limited. It does fill up pretty fast close to dinner time! We started off with a champagne toast. Then ordered the southwestern foie gras and scallops carpaccio for starters. Entrees were veal chop and the organic beef filet of France. The foo gras melted in your mouth. The scallops were served with a plum like fruit, not sure what it was but they tasted delightfully fresh. The beef filet was good, but highlight of the meal was the veal. The veal was tender and full of fla, served with shallots and mushrooms. Would highly recommend the 6 course tasting menu! Allow 2 hours to thoroughly enjoy the experience, and a few hundred pounds to really appreciate the menu and wine list for 2people! Not only was the meal simply spectacular, the service was truly special complementing the food perfectly which enhances the entire experience. This is a cute place in Montmartre. We went on our last night visiting, having heard good things food-wise, relative to other nearby places in the Saturday night chaos of the neighborhood. I can vouch for the foie gras des Landes, which was the Terrine with the Mango Chutney (a lesser known Steig Larsson thriller). The charcuterie was quite good, excepting the lardo. That was challenging. I like in in other contexts, but not here. My first time for dried wagyu, which was good but underwhelming. My entree was the rack of Pyrennes lamb, which was excellent; effectively 13 lollypops of concentrated lamb essence, with a light though meaty sauce on persil racin (parsely root) puree. Dessert was Moelleux au chocolat...this was a standout dessert because of execution. Very simple, but extremely refined. Chocolate, more chocolate, and almond milk ice cream. Also of note was the Mont Blanc, which others shared. It goes without saying..the wine list was excellent, pairings were on point, dishes were beautiful to look at, service was relaxed, no complaints at all, so I need to explain why I can award only 4 stars...simply because this was my last meal in a week of incredible meal and wasn't pinnacle of recent dining. If it was my first meal following a few days of only eating Chipotle, I'd give it "as good as it gets" in a heartbeat. So four star: but pretty damn awesome. read more

By far our favorite meal in Paris! The location is in a cute neighborhood behind the Moulin Rouge. Everything about this place was exceptional, ESPECIALLY the food. Every course we tried was superb. This is a true 'foodies' restaurant. The service is top notch. The presentation of both traditional and unusual dishes is excellent. Wine is poured at the table and our hostess worked with us until everyone at the table had what he/she wanted in a glass of wine.....along with a handful of tastings to get to the decision. It's clear that the workers all enjoy the environment and enjoy working together - creating a very relaxed but highly professional eating experience. From the first moment, when we were urged to order a champagne aperitif, to then enduring the bumbling sommelier, we felt something was "off" at Les Tantes Jeanne. My best friend and I went here before going to the Moulin Rouge, as it appeared to be one of the nicer restaurants in the area (it's packed with chains and tourist traps). Expecting good-not-great food, we were pleasantly surprised to enjoy a very reasonably priced, delicious meal with spectacular (especially for France) service. I made a reservation and had mentioned we would need to be finished with time to make it to the 11pm show and our server took this into account and made sure we were served as quickly as possible. We also arrived about 10-15 mins late so they set us up at the bar with a couple of glasses of complimentary wine while we waited for our table. We both had the fillet steak which was exceptional - we were shocked to see that it didn't come a la carte, but instead came with several delicious sides (potatoes dauphinoise, salad, etc). Really lovely place that totally exceeded my expectations. I'd love to go back! read more
