Decent breakfast. A little disappointed after seeing other reviews, not a 4,5 stars breakfast place

The Breakfast Caffe opened its new location at 350 Brockway (in the Greenmont neighborhood, about…read moreone mile up the road from Sabraton) the beginning of April. One month in, and they have wowed their customers with delicious creative breakfasts, including the local favorite Ramp Bowl, and probably the very best biscuits in buckwheat sausage gravy you can find in town. They also offer many alternative dishes with a vegan and/or gluten-free option. There's usually a few baked goods to sample as well. Everything is delicious and made from scratch, so sometimes there's a slightly longer wait. This is definitely not fast food...and that's a good thing! The big news in May is that The Breakfast Caffe is now offering delivery through Door Dash (check the app for details.) I believe this is during the evening hours through 9PM. For starters, they are offering Nashville Tender Chicken Sandwiches and Burgers and Fries through the service. I had one of the first burgers Chef created for the service and I'm not kidding, this may be one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. It was made to order (I like mine medium well) with onions, tomatoes, bacon and cheese with some mustard and a little ketchup. It was a generous burger that was absolutely perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. What elevated it even further was that the brioche bun it was on fully encased the meat and toppings, so there wasn't a drip in sight. A decadent no mess burger...now that is hard to find. And the mouth happiness doesn't end there...I am not a big fries fan, because honestly, fries are often disappointing..overcooked, droopy, cold tasteless oily empty calories. The offerings here are more like steak fries...thick long rectangular fried and seasoned potato ambrosia...crispy and savory on the outside, soft hot and creamy on the inside. Served with a side of "secret sauce" and you too will be singing the praises of the best burger and fries you've ever had the pleasure of consuming.

I do not recommend this place. My family and I visited for breakfast on November 16, 2025, and the…read moreexperience was disappointing from start to finish. We were there for a total of 1 hour and 40 minutes. Our server was inattentive, the buckwheat pancakes were nearly see-through, and the Dutch Baby pancake was undercooked in the middle. On top of that, the table we were seated at had screws sticking out from underneath. My teenage daughter actually punctured her leg on one of them, causing it to bleed. I reported this immediately to Paris, the manager, who seemed unaware--even though she mentioned having the table custom-made. Completely unacceptable. The restaurant looked clean enough, but there was a strange sign by the tea and coffee station instructing employees to "label every fuckin' thing." I'm still not sure what that was about. Needless to say, we won't be returning. I'm honestly shocked that a place operating like this is still in business, even in Morgantown.

I asked a couple questions about the menu and was immediately directed to the BLT by a woman in the kitchen. Wow I wasn't disappointed. It was sooooo good. The bread was toasted perfectly (so it didn't kill the roof of my mouth), the tomato's and lettuce were fresh, the bacon crispy, and that basil mayo. A life changing BLT if there is such a thing. A couple side notes I appreciate. Bittersweet's marketing team deserves. Ton of credit - they have some awesome swag available for purchase. Also, this is a Christian oriented cafe with bible verses, messaging, and music. Love it! And finally, check out the story about Bittersweet's roots, its commitment to addiction recovery/support, and the owner's son's story/passing. The name "Bittersweet Cafe" will take on a deeper meaning (the news articles can be found in the walls before the counter by the bathrooms). Cheers Bittersweet, thanks for having me, and God bless!

Nice landscaping provides a near perfect setting to enjoy a cup of coffee. I ended up getting a simple red eye. It was delicious. I understand they brew Iron Star coffee out of West Mifflin. The same Iron Star that owns Coffee Tree shops. If this coffee is any indication, I think I need to visit Coffee Tree again. It's been a while. Anyway, I had a really good cup of coffee and a peanut butter and jelly cookie. No complaints on the cookie, but I wish they had some breakfast sweets like scones or cinnamon rolls. Next time I'll try some real food. Just be aware that things are a little pricey here.
