    Let me start by saying I'm sure she'll have some friendly explanation in response to this review…read more However she just hung up the phone on me, when I called back she did not answer. She is Jamie, apparently she is the boss, very unprofessional. I included a collage of my hair drama with these folks. I went to see dezzy, really nice girl really talented just didn't turn out how I wanted. I started with a light blonde hair, showed dezzy a picture of a white balayage. Ended up with super gray hair and some purple tints too. She invited me to come back for a clarifying shampoo which just turned my hair to a regular blonde. No bleach or white anywhere. When I told her I wasn't happy with the hair, she wanted me to speak to her boss so I knew what was coming. Jamie informed me that blonde is not a color and that sometimes they can't lift to that high pigment of bleach blonde because it's not good for your hair. That's all well and good but she should have told me this before she did my hair. MIND YOU IT COST $200. It would have been better for her to be honest and tell me "you know I don't think it's going to come out that color" or "I don't feel comfortable processing your hair so much to get it that color", "it's not natural". But she acted like it was all good and she could do it. When her friend was helping her blow dry my hair the second time around she even said, "it's still gray". So when I called to talk to Jamie (the "boss") about all this she explained why she couldn't get it white and I explained that's understandable but she should not have done my hair if she couldn't get it to the picture, or at least had been honest about not being able to get it that color. Jamie said that they could do another clarifying in 2 weeks but I would have to pay for it, or they can try to get it more blonde and use olaplex treatment that I would also have to pay for. I explained that $200 is not chump change, I'm not a happy customer, and asked what can she do to make this right if I can't get my hair colored again or it's not advised to get it colored again and I would have to pay for it? She said nothing. I explained I'm calling to give you an opportunity to make this right before I leave a Yelp review because I'm not a satisfied customer, I wasn't told that this color was not achievable, I believed it could be done, and Dezzy should have been honest up front. And Jamie hung up on me. I called back and she didn't answer and I left a message stating "I was just checking to see if you actually did hang up in my face, and you did." Extremely disappointed in the service, extremely disappointed in the customer service that is non-existent, extremely disappointed that I paid a lot of money for something I didn't want. The good news is I never have to go back and deal with that person who calls herself a boss. Look forward to seeing what you have to say to this Jamie, I'm sure you'll spin it to make you sound professional. That's how you conduct your business? I feel bad for you.

    Update 1/30/16:…read more Jamie has by far the WORST communication skills I have ever experienced with a stylist. This is not someone you want to touch your hair if God forbid she makes a mistake. She left me with very spotty dye job that was noticeable from multiple angles, then straight ignored me hoping I would just "go away" pictures are attached. She will guarantee her work, then straight up DITCH OUT on a color correction apt set by herself. Zero instructions on how to enter the locked building after closing hours. Left me out in freezing temps knowing I took uber to her salon, I call right at 8pm (her work line that is the only one available) waited about 15 mins and sent a text letting her know that I was waiting in the Filipino food place across the street because it was so cold. 8:30pm rolls around and I started to get that gut feeling that she was a no call/no show on her own client. Never have had that happen before. Called her the next day only to be ignored for about 4 days straight. After the horrible treatment I was receiving, I decided to pop into the salon unannounced hoping to catch her and discuss what had been going on. She was shocked to see me standing there and I just threw up my hands and said "What happened Jamie??" She didn't have an answer, just that she doesn't always check her work phone, and that she can't be going around tracking down her clients.... B*+@& I had to track YOU down!!! Long story short, I told her I was completely fed up with the horrible treatment I had received on a $300 botched dye job that left me with this ugly hot pink mess and demanded a full refund. Horrible, horrible, horrible service from this woman, when all she had to do was COMMUNICATE with me from the start. Better shape up, because that crap won't fly with anyone paying top dollar that I know of. Good luck to you, and stay away if you want to be able to reach your stylist and not track her down.

First of all, I have never seen a more cowardly act by a manager in my 59 years on this planet. My wife who has for years been a customer at this establishment mainly getting her hair colored by an amazing stylist named Milan. For years she has paid to get a hair coloring without experiencing any issues with Milan and on a few occasions other stylists. On the day of the incident she had to settle for a stylist named Andrea because Milan was not available that day. Never having any bad experiences, she thought what the heck and gave her a chance. However, this would not be the case with Andrea, she was unprofessional and actually harmed my wife with her negligence and an unwillingness to listen to the customer's needs. She repeatedly claimed the way Milan whom has successfully colored her hair for years was doing it incorrectly! Andrea and her flawed ego failed the number one ethos in customer service "listen to your customer." She left her with chemicals in her hair way too long and was negligent in her attention to the process. My wife was so upset when she came home with an incomplete hair coloring and burns because of the chemicals left on her head by Andrea. My wife has always rewarded great customer service with great tips and verbal praise. I ask this question: Why for the first time over all the years of being a regular customer was there all of these issues with this stylist? At the moment this was happening our cowardly manager Mary "claimed she understood why my wife was upset and claimed she was out of practice but could possibly help." My wife did decide to leave to mitigate the damage as she was upset and experiencing burns. Weeks later she decided to try to book her regular stylist Milan only to be told that the Ulta manager Mary is banning my wife from coming back even to her regularly scheduled stylist Milan, and stating "Andrea's confidence was shaken by the event" which by the way Andrea caused herself with her ego and negligence!! WTF?? Mary, it is called remedial training in the corporate world and I am not sure that your manager handbook says to ban longtime, loyal paying customers from coming back. I am certain that is probably not what the store owner or corporate Ulta envision as an appropriate course of action or solution to the incident. My wife is a very understanding person and the fact that there has never been an issue over the many years until this incident with Andrea suggests the problem is not with the customer but perhaps with your employee. I am writing this review on my own experience based on what I saw and the incredibly inappropriate decision to ban my wife from her normal stylist Milan. Mary your decision to ban her is a big mistake on your part and I can guarantee you this is not where it ends. I will be diligent in ensuring I have this discussion with whatever form of leadership above you. I am retired with 36 years of service in the United States Military that has nothing but time and motivation to ensure your bad management decisions are held accountable. My wife has no idea that I am writing this review but I do know she is upset and angered by your cowardly management practices and would rather have seen you make the appropriate decision to discuss the situation with her like a rational and competent manager would in order to solve the problem. Location: she is located inside the Sola Salons building which is a trippy concept where there are multiple businesses inside this building (nails, hair, massage, barber). Ambiance: her room is small with 3 chairs and two wash bins. She has snacks, water and plays great top hits! There are benches in the hallway or you can walk across the lot to the cafe. Cost: $255 plus tip. Time: they estimated minimum 3 hours but in the end it was 4 hours. Maintenance: this is an investment! So we bought from Amazon very expensive Redken color extend blondage. Since my daughter is on the swim team, the chlorine lightened her hair further even though she wears a swim cap. But it looked even better! Her assistant, Jocelyn, was also wonderful and made the experience so personable. A perfect 10/10 visit. I will always go back to Nancy and now her sidekick, Jocelyn, too!
