After 8 weeks, I called to find out what the status was and left a message. Their outgoing message referenced the 4th of July holiday and being closed! I pointed out they needed to change their outgoing message since my call was made at the end of September! I called at least 3 times over the next few weeks and NEVER got a call back. At the end of October, we decided to go into the store to get a human in front of our faces. The gentleman helping us didn't seem like he wanted to be there and could barely be bothered to look up our order. We were told that it'd be another few weeks. Mid November we called again to find out the status. This time we had called the cell phone # on the business card that we picked up during the store visit (make sure to do that if you're waiting for any product from then). We actually got a text back saying it'd be "a couple of weeks". 2 weeks later, we had to call and check on the status before we finally were told a specific date the tile would arrive at the store. Then I asked the obvious question "so.... when will it arrive at our house?". That information was never offered up. No initiative. We finally received our tile 16 weeks after we ordered it. I understand that availability of product is out of their hands, but SERIOUSLY, there was no communication from them. The customer shouldn't be the one checking in every other week and leaving messages and never getting a call back. The store taking the initiative to update the customer on an ongoing basis (and being apologetic about it) should be the absolute norm. They never apologized for the delay. The complete lack of communication from Villa Stone would rate them 1 star, but the quality of the tile (very nice) bumps it up to 2. I totally can see how David D (review below) thought they were out of business given their lack of responsiveness.

Unfortnately, we picked a product that they didnt have enough onhand to fulfill our order, but told us we can pay for the lot now, don't worry, it'll be here in 3 months. Then it was another 3 months, then another 3, then eventually over a year before the "ship came in". And can you believe it, they didn't order our tile. It didnt come in. Lame excuses, it was someone elses fault, they sent the wrong tile, etc. Meanwhile, the price of the tile doubled in all the other stores. The owner asked would we like to accept another tile we previously REJECTED BECAUSE ITS UGLEY (and always in stock, go figure). When we wouldn't go for the tile nobody wants, the owner asked me with a straight face to hold on for another 6 months and they'll get the correct tile in. I declined that offer too, and asked for a refund. But oh shucks, the other guy deals with the bank. So, after many, many calls to follow up on our refund and no call backs, I finally started messaging constantly. Then they finally processed our refund. A year and a half after we ordered the tile.

We contacted Made Lumber and thought everything was going smoothly, until our fabricator noticed after the slab was planed that it was in fact warped at one end. We investigated for a long time trying to figure out the cause- did our fabricator mess up? Did the wood have too much moisture in it? Was it planed incorrectly? After talking with our fabricator, Made Lumber, and the planer, we found out that the slab was originally warped, or had a "twist" to it, and had left Made Lumber that way. They even had a photo of it on its way to our fabricator (which was sent later), and you can clearly see the warp. Before it was planed, Made Lumber recommended us to a planer they use often who had a CNC, but our slab was too big for this machine, so instead they recommended another place that had a wide belt sander that would fit our slab. There was no mention that the slab had a twist this entire time. We took it to the place with the wide belt sander and from there it went to our fabricator, who noticed the warp. Now, Made Lumber refuses to reimburse us in any way or take any sort of responsibility for the warp, or "twist". First they blamed the wide belt sander they recommended, saying it wasn't planed correctly. Then, they said it's our fault because we didn't use the CNC (which wouldn't fit our slab) because this apparently "would have taken out the twist," although other carpenters have begged to differ on this point. If Made Lumber knew our slab had a twist (which they did), and thought that only a CNC would have gotten it out (debatable), then it would have been honorable for them to mention before we purchased it and say "hey, this slab has a twist, and the wide belt sander that we recommended won't get this twist out" but they didn't. We now are down $6000 on a slab that can't be used for our client, and it can't be re-planed because it would be too thin. Needless to say, we will not be sourcing from them or recommending them.

In particular, they had some beautiful walnut slabs. I wanted to create a coffee table, and I found the perfect slab, a figured maple. Nate offered to finish it for me, which was perfect since I wouldn't have done it justice myself. He also talked me out of staining it, which was absolutely the right call. Honestly, looking at it now I can't believe I ever considered it. It came out so beautiful, I can't help but to keep staring at it. It's gorgeous, like a work of art. The pictures really do not do it justice. It's going to look amazing in my new living room. I could not be happier with my experience and the finished product. Highly recommend Made Lumber!

We really were lost and kind of not sure where to even start. Eddie walked us thru the process and eventually we settled on a wide hinged door. We went from pivoting to hinged and could not decide. Eddie showed us so many options and we ended up with what we think is the best door possible. Price, delivery and installation went flawlessly. As you can tell we could not be happier with our door choice, with Doors ETC and with Eddie. Eddie also made sure we got a door handle that fit the size of the door. Eddie also made sure it matched the interior because you can see by the pictures we were going with brass inside. Everything from measuring our space. Ordering the exact size need with the side window was perfect.

The manufacturer didn't cover it stating checking/cracking was normal with direct sunlight, but there is no direct sunlight. I had two of my own finishers come out and both clearly stated the door shouldn't have been splitting open, especially within a year. And the finisher sent by Doors, etc was supposed to fix the checking as best he could, not spray paint a naturally stained door. UPDATE - It was recommended that I reach out to John, the owner, so I did that. I'd seen nearly a year chasing him down trying to get responses and also he offered an aluminum door as a replacement I was not ok with replacing a Walnut wood door with something that was a fraction of the cost and could never match in looks. All I wanted was support for the dealer I purchased the door from to get a warranty replacement, which I should have been entitled to. His solution initially was to send one of his guys out that could supposedly make the door look much better, so I agreed. It took 4 months for that person to come out and use a spray can to paint what was once a beautiful, natural walnut door, and the checking (cracking) was still there. After seeing what was done I reached back out to John and he said get all your correspondence with his guy and Simpson, the manufacturer together and send it to him and he'll see what he can do. After sending him everything he responded back again offering the fiberglass door, to which I declined and asked for him to do what he offered now that I took the time to get everything together and send to him and he is no longer responding. You can see the before and after from the pics and video. This is a company, and person, that doesn't stand behind their product, nor the damage their people do.

I figured I'd go to the big box store (not Home Depot as I'm boycotting) but got diverted to Ace because of flooding. Checked them out and figured I'd do a price check by heading to the other place. Lo and behold, Ace was comparable in price and had a better selection. This wasn't the first time I went to Ace either. They beat the price for a garbage disposal by $50 just a week previous. This location is well stocked and has friendly help. They also have a bbq supply place attached that has some cool stuff. I've even bought my stocking stuffers here in the past. I highly, highly recommend this location. Parking is available in the back for those who are afraid of trying to find a spot. Great option for your hardware needs.
