I have been a customer of the Leslie's in Escondido for over 8 years. Don is the most helpful and knowledgeable person. Got a question he has the right answer. What I really like he does not try to sell you more stuff then you need to solve the problem. He said a long time ago, Home Depot supplies are alright but not as effective as his. So, he is right the money you think you are saving is just more buying of a lesser product. Dumped Home Depot chemicals spent a little more with Leslie and saved more money. Don shows that the customer is important and understands that at the end of day, the customer pays his salary. Thanks Don for your customer care. read more

I just want to say that Eric Cole the store manager from Leslie's Escondido is the greatest guy and most professional in the world. He cam in on his day off to help me with my pool vacuum and he did it in 10 min. I have been going there for 7 years and Eric Cole has treated my like i was his own brother of family member. He always gives GREAT customer service and i tell all my friends with a pool to go to Leslie's and speak to Eric Cole the store manager. Vince and Eric are lifesavers! (or at least pool savers!) I was having several problems with my pool which required a complete drain, and quick patch, repair and paint work prior to refilling. All was urgent due to the hot weather and the risk to the pool each day it was empty. Vince and Eric gave me expert advice and helped me prevent what could have easily turned into a disaster. Additionally the suggestions given on conditioning the new water and handling my pool chemistry differently than I used to was also some GREAT advice that is going to save me time and money, and will provide a better quality of water for my pool. These guys are GREAT!!! I read (below) a negative review about Vince, but my experience is you often get from others what you bring...so hey Randy the Corrector, maybe if you were told to calm down it's because you needed to calm down? If you own a pool, you need a source of products. I started with Leslie's 15 years ago. I have come and gone, and now I am back. The "other" store moved a few years ago and was unavailable for months. That is when I returned to Leslie's. I tried chasing them around but it cost me a lot of time. Dealing with Leslie's over the past couple of years has been great. I am a DIY guy and recently installed a Salt system purchased from Leslie's. My pool has never looked better and I hardly do anything to it. It is WAY better than the regularly chlorinated system I once had. I also had Leslie's install a variable speed pool pump recently. When they install a pump the warranty is 3 times longer than if you install it, that is why I allowed them to install the pump. Between the two products, I am saving a bundle of maintenance time, chemicals and electricity. The pool pump made a huge difference on our monthly electric bill and is much quieter than the original single speed. The manager has gone out of his way on numerous occasions to help me get the best product for my needs. He himself deserves 5 stars! Anyway, it was about time I said thank you publicly. read more

I have owned a 10000 gallon above the ground pool for about 15 years, its been really good for most of the time but the last couple of years i have had cloudy water. It has a paper cartridge type filter that has always worked ok. Last year we ended up with some algae and dirt in the pool at the end of the season, i didnt clean it i just covered it up for the winter. So this year i go to open it up guess what its still dirty DUH, so i get the idea that i could fix the problem with a cordless battery operated pool vacuum. I found one on line but it ended up being back ordered so i call Leslies to see if they have the same kind of vacuums they said yes so i went to there store where i met Vince, I told him my plain while i was looking at the vacuums they had in the store he started shaking his head, back and forth not up and down and he says you wont fix the problem and you will work yourself to death with one of these vacuums, he then says to me its your filtration, so i said what do you recommend? he showed me a sand filter and pump combo he says this has 5 to 10 times better filtration then a paper cartridge and its easy to clean and service [plus it was only about $100.00 more than the dumb vacuum] so i took his advice. I went home and used the old filter set-up to vacuum out the pool, by the time i finished i had stirred up so much junk you couldnt see a foot into the water. I then spent a couple hours switching over to the new sand filter and pump. That all went pretty smooth. For the next 3 days i back flushed the filter twice a day like Vince told me [Its really easy to do] and now im a happy pool owner again with crystal clear water. After years of complaining about my SDGE bill and talking about trying to get the cost of maintaining my pool down, and after many discussions with the store manager (Don), I did it! I replaced my pump with the PENTAIR Variable Speed pump (actually Leslie installed it). AND WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Not only am I saving money on my electric bill, but the pump is almost silent when compared with the one it replaced. The best part of it is that Don (the store manager) contacted me and informed me that there was a 2 day window where I could save 15%...so both I and my neighbor replaced our pumps...and saved hundreds of $$$$ from the get go!! In addition, we also received a $200 SDGE rebate on top of the initial 15% savings! Moreover, the installer Steve was very professional and the installation was flawless. They both (Don and Steve) also called me later that week to follow-up and ensure I was satisfied. I bought my home in Escondido one year ago and was blessed to have a beautiful pool which took time to learn and take care of. As a non-Yelper, I have truly felt compelled to inform others how awesome Vince and Eric are at the Escondido Leslie pool store. Vince is a really great all around guy! He is very friendly and knowledgeable who has helped me with numerous tips and suggestions that all have worked. Examples include how to get rid of rust spots, numerous water testing, dandelions removal, and troubleshooting equipment errors. Eric has been extremely helpful with getting a new pool vacuum and then assistance with getting my rebate after purchase. I bought a Maytronics Deluxe 4 pool cleaner two years ago from them figuring it would make sense to get it from a brick and mortar in case something happened. It was covered under a 3 year warranty. It quit working 2 months ago so I took it in to get service. Of course the estimated time to get it back was a week or so. After a week I called them and they hadn't had a chance to diagnosis the problem. Another week passes and they figure it is the cord. Of course they have problems with getting replacement parts so another week passes. Finally after 6 weeks I get it back in the pool. Of course it doesn't work. When I take it back to the store the manager tells me that he can't do anything and for me to call Maytronics. He took the extreme step of providing me with 1-888-DOLPHIN. After a day or so of trying to talk to a live person in GA, I finally get a customer service rep on the line. She sends me an email with a FEDEX shipping label to their service center in AZ. I sent it in last Thursday and got it back today. It works great. Thanks for nothing Leslie's. I will never spend another dime in your store. read more

Vince and Eric are fantastic. I am a happy new owner of an above ground pool and I went into this store Saturday with just my google knowledge of what is needed for my new pool. First I witnessed Vince and Eric assisting other customers attentively and they seemed to know their customers, which is a plus. Eric was assisting a customer that seemed to be unsatisfied (not angry) and he was letting him know that they would do what they can to get it right. They acknowledged everyone that was waiting and Vince even knew one of the customer's names which was another added plus, so I did not mind waiting thinking that I will probably get great service as well. AND I was not mistaken. Vince was informative, friendly and DID NOT TRY TO UPSELL ME on products that I didn't need...a HUGE plus. I see some of the negative reviews and I have to think "are these legitimate issues"? Come on people, if someone is having a problem with the credit card machine do you really have to post that as a huge problem? I think that sometimes people go into a merchant store looking for problems and the customer is just miserable and nothing will make them happy. you cannot trust leslie's reviews on their website. i bought their power pro pool chlorinator because of good reviews and recommended by store employee. the product says "leaves pool water sparkling clean". i use it and the water turns clowdy so you can't see bottom of pool and stays that way for days. went to store to complain but they had no explanation or solution and i'm out $130. i wrote a negative review on leslie's website about the product and it never appears. all negative reviews don't appear and all their products are rated highly to fool the public. read more
