I have an above ground pool which I have having issues setting up with a larger sand filter pump. The oddities involved with pool parts made the setup difficult at best. I came down to the local Leslie Pool Supply store and met the manager Jon. My previous visits were nominal with the last manager. Jon not only assisted me with finding the right parts but also with keeping the water in check on a weekly basis. Not failing to mention they keep my spa water at the right levels too. Jon and his employee Louie are a great combo at this store. They're both helpful and gracious each time I walk in the door. With their competence and confidence I'll be a returning and loyal customer for sure! read more

This location has been decent over the past couple of years, although I don't go in a lot. However, my pool cleaner was in need of repairs so I took it in there last Wednesday. The humorous lady took my information and said the repair section was all caught up and I would get a call the next day with an estimate. I received no call on Thursday so I called on Friday. A gentleman answered and said he was the repair, and he hadn't looked at it yet. He said he would go back and then give me a call. Of course, no call came. I went into the store today, Saturday, and asked the same gal the status. We went to the back, she looked at my cleaner, and said " nope, he hasn't touched it yet, and he will be in on a Wednesday to look at it". Wrong! I took it back, drove it to The Pleasanton location. Within 2 hours I was called to come and pick it up. With that said, I will no longer go down the street to the Livermore location: and anyone using them now, I suggest giving Pleasanton a shot. I can't say enough good things about Leslie pools and especially their employees. Steve helped me today as he has other times with my pool water test. He always does a "magic show" for my kids which they thoroughly enjoy. It's nothing more than making a little effort to keep the kids entertained instead of just performing the standard water test but it makes the experience that much better. I have gone to the Leslie's Pool Supplies store many times in Livermore. The service has been hit and miss over the years. For sure within recent years, service has been much better. Today however, I received the best service ever with Javier. Javier was not only polite and a gentleman, he was incredibly knowledgeable and very helpful. I walked in with very little information on what I exactly needed. Javier promptly assisted me and explained to me exactly what I needed, and he was spot on. I was incredibly impressed by this young man and so thankful for all of his help. I hope his manager sees this post, because this young man made my day. And within a few hours my pool was sparkly clean after hooking up my brand new pool vacuum. read more

I really try to support small businesses however they have to meet me half way. I went to Leslie's on a Sunday ordered a part and was told it would be there Monday, went there Tuesday, no luck, no clue what happend, promissed it would be there Saturday, no luck, they promised, Sunday, no luck but the promissed to call me later in the day when it came in, no luck. When I order something and am given a date I expect it to be there on that date. They had three chances to keep me as a customer and failed. read more

I went to Leslie's at 6:45 today to have my pool water sampled. They close at 7. The employee there told me she couldn't test my water because there wasn't enough time because she had to clean the toilet and pull in the outdoor supply. Water testing takes a couple minutes. If my company had customer service practices like that, we wouldn't have customers! read more

I went there and got help with an algae problem. They tested the water and sold me just the item I needed. My pool is algae free and they test the pool water regularly. Finally this place has a manager and staff that knows their stuff. Now one in two years has been able to help us understand how poool water works but now thanks to Jon my pool sparkles and I now have fun taking care of it rather then consider it a head ache. Wow he took my pool from a swamp to a show pool with his knowledge of water and how each chemical would effect it. Besides the fact that they are so outrageously over priced the customer service and advice were horrible. I had a pump go out so I figured I would support the local pool supply store rather than go online, you know so I could talk to a face if I had a problem. I knew the variable speed pump I wanted so I went to Leslie to buy it and even had them install it. They told me it would be smart to buy the robotic sweep to go with it so I could eliminate the booster pump and save a ton on PG&E. They said the p935 was the best bang for the buck. I was told I didn't need the more expensive one that it was not worth the extra money. I took their advise and immediately found that it spent more time on top of the water than at the bottom so I just set it to clean the floor and not the walls ( defeating half the purpose of owning a robotic pool sweep that scrubs the pool!) It still never picked everything up always circling on one side of the pool and tangling the cord. After 11 months of this it just stopped working. I paid $1300 for this thing and it only lasted a year! When I took it in to have it looked at he acted surprised . I had done a little research and found that this pool sweep had nothing higher than a two star rating. I mentioned this to him and he tells me I never look at the reviews on our web site. I told him maybe you should before you go recommending these to everyone. I left it there for two weeks and when I called he told me it still needs a motor. I asked what he meant by still? I said what else does it need? He told me it needed a module and cord. I said that's the whole sweep basically and if that happened in one year what is going to happen in the second when it's out of warranty ? He agreed and said I will ask our manager what they can do and if they could swap it out for a better unit. When he called back he said "your pool sweep is done and I got the work covered by warranty " DUH! It has a two year warranty!!! I asked what about helping me out? He said no we can't do that and if you buy an upgrade his manager said they wouldn't even give me a trade in. Basically we don't care what we sell you , what people think about the products we are selling you and if you are happy after we sell it to you. I wouldn't recommend Polaris or Lesslie to anyone! read more

We have been trying to get our pool ungreen for three months. We have followed all of the expensive directions we were given, brought in our water samples two to three times a week, hoping something would click and the water become clear again. No such luck. I was told I needed to drain my pool and start over with fresh water. Right. In this drought? Not only, is the service poor (it took over an hour to test my water, customers who came in after me were waited on first) and under staffed, the test results are not accurate. I went to Pool Time in Pleasanton, and was told within minutes, I had an algae problem (which is what we kept telling Leslie's all along and were told we had to get the water balanced before treating the algae). I was given muriatic acid, algae remover, and two packets of shock treatment. Told to use the acid for 6 days so the clorine could hold onto something, use the algaecide and shock treatment next and within 24 hours the water should clear up. It did. Sorry, Leslie's, I'm not coming back. read more

This is my first Yelp review. We are selling our house in Livermore and were having an open house on Saturday and Sunday. I noticed on Friday our Polaris cleaner had not been working. I called the Livermore Leslie's store and Dillon had indicated to bring it in but would probably be a couple of days to fix. I went in the store and Dillon saw that the belts were not working on the Polaris. He looked on the shelf and in a newly arrived shipment but saw they were out of stock. I told him we were having an open house on Saturday and Sunday and he said he should be able to get the part sometime on Saturday and would try to get to it as soon as he could. I received a call from Dillion late on Friday that my Polaris was fixed. Apparently after I left he checked inventory on his computer and it showed they should have one in inventory and he was able to find the belts in the store hanging on the wrong rack. Great service Dillon going the extra yard and we had a very good open house with a clean pool! read more
