Purchased pump from Leslies and had them install it prior to 4th July weekend. Prior pump was working but was loud. After the installation they said to wait 24 hours before use. I asked them if they tested it to verify it worked, they said they didn't but they were sure it was OK. The next day I turned it on it had very low pressure then it overheated and shut down. I called but they said they were 'booked' and couldnt come back until sometime the next week. Of course couldn't use the pool the entire 4th weekend. read more

I like Leslie's but every visit is an adventure. With a jar with of my murky, stubbornly unbalanced pool water in hand, I enter. What will I drop $400 on today? Do I have to raise PH or lower it. There's a bottle of something or other behind the skimmers that promises to stabilize the chlorine. I wish that I could be that stable. Life was far less complicated when all you had to worry about was acid rain. They have chemicals for whatever ails your cement pond, all at prices that make Big Pharma look like a charity. Crap, the rivet on my vacuum head just went bad, that's another Benjamin. Maybe I should just strangle myself with those nifty pool noodles... bad idea, their floating casket is a grand. Seriously, they are nothing but helpful and much better than a roulette wheel at diagnosing your murky pool water. And let's hear it for convenience, there's a for-profit blood plasma donation center right next door (seriously) if their prices leave you a little short. I have always had great luck with finding what I need for our pool when it comes to the chemicals. They water test for free and I ultimately always find something I didn't know I needed or wanted. Some of the water games, loungers and such seem higher on the price tag but its quality stuff and doesn't fall apart after 1 use. They have a great inventory and I see stuff flying off the shelf in the summer months and spring when people are getting their pools ready for summer. read more

I went to Leslie's pool for my spa I was quite impressed. I met with the store manager Dawn. I found a very intelligent competent store manager who knew about pools and spas. It's quite refreshing to see a person working at a chain like Leslie's as professional and knowledgeable as she was. This specific stores management has honestly, and I say with all seriousness, the worst customer service and attitude I have ever encountered. I am a first time pool owner and went in asking for simple products and needed guidance on them from a "pool store employee" but was met with such distaste and horrible attitude. The manager an older lady would not give a name but she proceeded to kick us out of the store and threaten to call the cops. I am not a "karen" and honestly never leave reviews... but this time I absolutely needed to, hopefully to save others from going to this store... The BEST! The BEST! I have been Coming to this store for several years now and have nothing but great things to say about the staff and the overall buying experience. I get my chemicals here and also my opening and closing kits each year (along with all the various pool toys and accessories that I buy each season). So we stopped into the store on Wednesday I had the pleasure of speaking with Gayle, We came back today and purchased the Polaris VRX cleaner. I have been going to this Leslie's Pool for 2 years now. The first year i used them i met Gayle being a pool virgin she helped me greatly. Her knowledge and kindness to this first time taking care of a pool myself made me feel like i could actually do this. I could not have done it without her. I also this year wanted to spend less time always vacuuming my pool and more time enjoying it she recommended the Polaris turtle to help keep the bottom of the pool clean,(we have a lot of trees and crap that seems to find the bottom of our pool). Understaffed as usual on the weekend. Test my own chlorine level at home and got a high reading. Have them test a sample and amazing its low "barely a .5 reading." Bought a new bottle of tester to be sure. Tested again at home and I get the same high reading I had at home earlier. Fast forward to the next day, take the sample to another pool place to be sure. There test consists of mini laboratory sampler "computerized" that reads high chlorine and all ok. Not normally one to complain but really?,, looks like I will be going elsewhere. read more

Everytime I go to purchase something at Howell location there is not enough help! Waiting in line for over 30 min while only one employee on staff and he was checking water samples . Even on a weekend I only see maybe two people on staff during height of summer . read more

not bad for the quick stuff and they test water for free. the kids work hard, they dont always have everything in stock like pressure gauges for filters. The worst part is LESLIES on-line undercuts their stores as you can get larger qty chemicals cheaper with free delivery on-line but the store will match the on-line price. onky problem is store doesnt carry the larger size chlorine tabs so your out of luck unless you want to wait for delivery or settle for less read more
