I've had my watch for about 20 years, and it's a good watch, but when I tried taking it to the jewellery counter in a Walmart to get the battery replaced, they couldn't even get the back open. So, I figured I'd try a real jeweller and see if I would have any more success. They not only replaced the battery, they also set the time and the date. (Setting the date is kind of fiddly on this particular watch because it's analog.) So now both of our watches are running, we can tell the time without digging out or phones, and we're as happy as clams.

My family had dealt with them for decades and I felt I could trust them as a result. Mitch was the person who sold it to me and established the price. Well imagine our surprise when for insurance purposes we had to get another appraisal recently and it was $4k. The ring never left our sight. We did this at a well respected local jeweller. They looked at Mitch's documentation and laughed. They wondered if he even was a jeweller qualified to appraise jewellry...... So we went to another well respected jeweller and they confirmed the appraisal we had just received. They confirmed that the document we received from Petars was useless and didn't make sense. Interestingly enough when we would get the ring cleaned at Petar's we had to leave it with them for days. We never had to do that with any other jeweller!!!! They did the work in front of us. I can say this for certain, that either they sold us a sub par piece of crap and charged us a criminal price or they swapped out the stone when it was in for cleaning, because like I said it was never out of our sight otherwise. I had purchased a couple of other more modest pieces, one being an earring set. They passed off garnet for rubies! I didn't know better, but unfortunately trusted them at the time. That was my disappointing experience. Wish I found out sooner
