Scheduled a pool closing for Oct 7, much later than we usually do it, but had no choice, as that was the only available appt. We cleaned and vacuumed pool in anticipation of the closing, not easy as many leaves fall in this time of year. Oct. 7 came and it was raining and we got a call, not early morning, but midday , saying they could not do it because of rain. I guess when you work with pools you are afraid of getting wet. They rescheduled for Oct 15th, that means we will need to do another cleaning and vacuuming before they come, not easy when leaves are falling in buckets.. Oct 15 comes and after being told they would here between 2 and 4Pm , no one arrives. We get a call from them at about 3 pm saying they cannot make it on Oct 15th and do not know when the next time available is, and we can get another company if we want. Great, every other pool company is busy and Lester leaves us holding the bag. No valid reason given for the inability to close our pool. Needless to say we will never use this company again. read more

Terrible Customer Service after an initially good experience! Lester Pools opened and closed my pool several times and made some repairs. Always reliable, and reasonably priced. Always spoke with Elizabeth on the phone. They opened my pool this year, but I hadn't left my polaris vaccuum out for them. I tried to install it myself, but couldn't. Called Elizabeth at least 4 times to get a service call scheduled. Last call she promised that Thursday of Friday. No show. Called again and left message, called again no answer. Apparently Elizabeth doesn't care. read more

Just had this company come to open my pool in old bridge and one of the guys steps on my pool cover and rips it. Then tried to tell me no stepped on it a branch did it. I told him I was just back here cleaning and there was no tip and he said Jen told his guys to pack up and leave. This company is amazingly inept. I scheduled a liner install with pump replacement and new pool ladder. They changed my schedule without notice twice. On the third try, they were five hours late and did not answer any of my phone calls trying to find out where they were. When they arrived, they couldn't figure out how to remove old pump and install new one. A total waste of my time, leaving me to now try to start my project all over again read more

Very unprofessional! Lester has a very bad temper, constantly screaming, cursing & yelling at his workers. My children were present ... He even had a worker walk off from the job. He initially gave a price and upon completion of the job, added an extra $1,000 to the cost, demanding cash. We have an above ground pool & as I was watching him install, I realized that he was using duct tape. Yes, he duct tape the inside of my pool, and even going as far as using one of his company signs to patch a hole he made. I do have pics of everything.. While something didn't seem right, I trusted that he knew what he was doing. NEVER AGAIN! Never go by the experience they say they have. Lester in unreliable and his work was disappointing. I wish yelp allowed for a rating of zero stars. As stated in another review, Lester's unprofessionalism and bad temper was displayed when he came to my home to close my pool. Lester had given me an estimate to install a pool heater that was higher than 3 previous estimates that I had received. Although I elected not to use Lester to install my pool heater, I decided that I would continue to use him to open & close my pool. When he came to my home to close my pool and he saw that the pool heater had been installed by someone else, he lost his temper, and yelled at me for "wasting 3 hours of his time to provide an estimate for a new pool heater installation". We had an unpleasant exchange of words, and he left my home refusing to close the pool which was scheduled 2 weeks in advance. With all of the competition in the area, there is no need to tolerate such an unprofessional and ill-mannered person for your pool needs. read more

First and last time using this company. I hired them for a pool opening and they used MY chemicals instead of their own. They told my wife that the pool cover was ripped and should be repaired. The only problem is that the cover did not have any rips or tears on it before they came. As they were leaving my wife asked if they are going to vacuum since the pool needed it. They were extremely rude to my wife and when she offered to pay for the extra service - they told her they didn't have time now , maybe in a couple of weeks !!! After they left , I tested the pool water and since I only had chlorine in my pool storage unit, that is all they added. The water was murky, dirty and needed maintenance. When i called the manager to complain , she suggested I use another pool company to close at the end of the season. So take their own advice , use another company. Lester is a complete Jerk, I needed a pool cover done wasn't recommended by anyone in fact every one advised to stay away. I am a person that likes punishment i guess. So we asked Lester for an estimate. He himself came to the house measured and gave an estimate 2 weeks later comes back for final measurement and says that the estimate i had in my hands was wrong and that his GUY(remember lester gave the estimate) was wrong and that the new estimate is over $5,000 he then took the estimate out of my hands and tried to take it with him. I grabbed it and half of it ripped. I took lesters sample for covers and he called the cops. Lester than tells the cops that i refused his work and that i wanted a better price than 3400 the original price he gave. Lester is a Fat old grumpy liar that needs to be put in his place. In fact he is a type of person that needs to be out of businesses. He treated his worker with disrespect in just the first 10 min of me knowing them. I can only imagine what his company day life is.
