When I said I had not, she took me on a brief tour of the store, including pointing out the sake section and restroom. She even checked in with me when the original employee was struggling with a phone call and I was waiting to check out for some time. The store is laid out by yarn weight except for a separate baby yarn section. A lot of variety in all yarn weights and plenty of goodies to browse. Thankfully for my wallet I had to fit everything in a carry-on for the flight home so I just got yarn to start a quick project. However, I could see myself coming back next time I am in FL to browse (eh, buy) again!

They also have a Kids Club with events and other fun things for them to do. The staff was nice enough but seemed a bit overwhelmed, maybe due to the season and it being pretty busy. So I went to ask for a few yards and the man who helped me said he doesn't sell anything less than 20 yards. In fact he was pushing for me to buy an entire bolt. 100+ yards! I haven't visited Michael's in a long time - not since my kids were in elementary school needing certain items for school projects. The store was large, clean, and well-organized. Hold up! Michael's sells helium balloons now?! Wow, this place has evolved into more than just a DIY craft store. With my stomach grumbling, I didn't feel like walking aisle by aisle looking for the spray bottle. I approached a store employee and asked where I could find small spray bottles. The employee checked two aisles, then asked another employee for assistance. I ended up finding a small 2-pack spray bottle for $4.99. The employee came with a spray bottle a bit bigger than what I found, but there was no sticker price on it. I thanked the employee for his help and took both items to checkout for a price check. A female employee provided customer service near the self-checkout. Although the 2-pack spray bottles were on sale online, Michael's does not honor online prices in-store. The employee did a price check on the bigger spray bottle, which was $3 less than the smaller ones. I made my payment on the large self-checkout screen. I didn't notice it then, but closely looking at the picture I took, the screen at self-checkout not only has a camera locked on your face, but also on the items you're scanning.

What truly upset me about this location was to look up when we first pulled in and see Old Glory barely flying--torn, frayed and faded--at times getting caught in the tree's branches. It made me think of all our soldiers and veterans and their families. How they sacrifice(d) and honorably serve(d)! It always makes me so very sad that this is the only country that treats our flag so dishonorably at times; some even wearing it as a coverup or a fashion piece. Suffice to say that if a manager at this store reads this, please reach out to whomever might be in charge to take care of our flag in a dignified manner. Visit the U.S. Department of Defense website under Dos and Don'ts for more important information, such as "The U.S. flag should flow freely in the wind or in a lobby with a passing breeze as people walk past ... clean and damage-free flags should always be used. Dirty, ripped, wrinkled or frayed flags should not be used. Also, when flags are damaged, they should be destroyed in a dignified manner."
