When I said I had not, she took me on a brief tour of the store, including pointing out the sake section and restroom. She even checked in with me when the original employee was struggling with a phone call and I was waiting to check out for some time. The store is laid out by yarn weight except for a separate baby yarn section. A lot of variety in all yarn weights and plenty of goodies to browse. Thankfully for my wallet I had to fit everything in a carry-on for the flight home so I just got yarn to start a quick project. However, I could see myself coming back next time I am in FL to browse (eh, buy) again!

They also have a Kids Club with events and other fun things for them to do. The staff was nice enough but seemed a bit overwhelmed, maybe due to the season and it being pretty busy. A lot of shelves were bare and it seemed a bit disorganized. I only came in for one item so didn't get much of a chance to look around but I'll definitely be back!

So I went to ask for a few yards and the man who helped me said he doesn't sell anything less than 20 yards. In fact he was pushing for me to buy an entire bolt. 100+ yards! Who needs 100 yards of green mesh? I don't have the space for that much material! He wouldn't budge. Wouldn't give me just a few yards. I had to walk away. Michael's sells helium balloons now?! Wow, this place has evolved into more than just a DIY craft store. With my stomach grumbling, I didn't feel like walking aisle by aisle looking for the spray bottle. I approached a store employee and asked where I could find small spray bottles. The employee checked two aisles, then asked another employee for assistance. I ended up finding a small 2-pack spray bottle for $4.99. The employee came with a spray bottle a bit bigger than what I found, but there was no sticker price on it. I thanked the employee for his help and took both items to checkout for a price check. A female employee provided customer service near the self-checkout. Although the 2-pack spray bottles were on sale online, Michael's does not honor online prices in-store. The employee did a price check on the bigger spray bottle, which was $3 less than the smaller ones. I made my payment on the large self-checkout screen. I didn't notice it then, but closely looking at the picture I took, the screen at self-checkout not only has a camera locked on your face, but also on the items you're scanning.

At every other Michael's, the app cancels the items and refunds me automatically before I even arrive. Not here. This store waited until I got there, then treated it like a return--asking for the card I paid with and even requesting my social security number just to process it. Completely unacceptable. On top of that, I placed a curbside order and was told to go inside to pick it up. What's the point of offering curbside if I have to walk in? This location went from a 10 to a 0. Management is awful, and the employees are clueless. I won't be coming back.

When we tried to explain how important this was, Brooklyn, the manager, showed no interest in helping. She had a terrible attitude and walked away while we were still speaking. It would have taken five minutes to offer basic customer service. Those five minutes would have made a huge difference for our child's birthday. Instead, we were left frustrated and scrambling.
