Cut and colour (Pink) appointment for a was for 2:15pm this Saturday. Very important: I'm a natural blonde. I wanted to support a vegan salon and was very excited for the appointment. Took an hour drive to get there. Boyfriend had to wait in the car due to COVID-19 restrictions (He said he didn't mind waiting the 2-3 hours for the appointment, he's good to me like that). Everything seemed okay on arrival. She cut ends off and started applying the bleach. She had to keep re-applying water to the bleach because it kept flaking. When I was placed under the heat, there was so much water in my hair that my hair began to steam: there's now a steam burn on the back of my head. Not comfortable. (Couldn't sleep last night and even warm showers are incredibly painful) I kept asking, "Is everything going to work?" She kept reassuring me that it would. Because the back of my head was burned, we weren't able to use heat for the bleach any longer and had to keep reapplying. This was about three hours in. She didn't really seem to know what colour to use in my hair or what pink would work. Maybe this was just a matter of experimentation, but it wasn't what I expected when I was referred to their hairstylist who was "most experienced with pink." It didn't feel like a very professional experience: I showed the colour I wanted, but she kept asking me if it matched... isn't that your job? Anyways. Two bleaches later and a few failed attempts at applying colour, and all I'm left with now is what you see in the pictures. Please note the extremely damaged ends that I'll now have to have repaired and trimmed down even further. I did not leave until 7:45pm. Please be aware that they understood that I was driving in for this appointment and that - again - they knew my boyfriend was waiting in the car (Though they did offer to invite him inside when social distancing was reasonable, which was kind). I'm extremely disappointed and will not be returning, nor do I recommend you or anyone else go. I'd also like to point out their "no-refund" policy. After all of this damage? Seriously? How much do you think it cost them in bleach/colour? I'm paying for the hair-stylists time, which they spent damaging my hair instead of cutting and styling it. I should not have been charged at all. If a restaurant gave you food poisoning and said "It's okay, you can come eat here again next week," - WOULD YOU? No! I will be getting my hair fixed elsewhere and will not be taking up their offer to "fix" my hair. Truthfully, I did not want to have to post this review. It breaks my heart to have to call out an organization that supports my vegan values like this, but my treatment has been unjust. Any professional salon would have refunded this. Do not attend: 0/5. I could see the person next to me was uncomfortable when the nail technician made the comment, and the nail tech didn't seem to care, it rolled off her tongue like she's said it before. She not only said it once but twice!!! How management (whoever you are) allows such behavior is beyond me, it's not funny, it's very unprofessional, and disrespectful for a consumer to watch. My tech stopped partway through my set to tell me to relax.... The feeling of relaxing is far from the truth, and how can someone relax. Never once did the nail technician apologize or say she was joking for the comments she expressed today! It's clear to me when I did speak up immediately every single one of them talk in their language which makes for a very uncomfortable situation one that I hope to never experience again.
