a bathroom with a toilet and sink

We hired Let's Remodel to do a simultaneous remodel of two of our bathrooms. This was our first time working with a design/build company and to say we were nervous would be an understatement. It turns out we had nothing to worry about. Pavel and Paulina, the owners, were so supportive of our vision and helped turn our pile of inspiration photos into a workable design. The office staff, Lauren and Micaela, were always easy to reach if we had questions or requests. The subcontractors were all punctual and hard working. The work space was always tided up at the end of the day. If we had any questions or concerns they were dealt with in a timely fashion. I feel like we need to give special recognition to Igor, our tile installer. We had asked for fairly complex tile designs for both bathrooms and Igor nailed it! His meticulous attention to detail and "nose to the grindstone" work ethic were nothing short of astounding. If you're considering a project that calls for top notch tile work you can't go wrong with Let's Remodel. From the first day of demo to the final paint touch ups, our project took just shy of nine months. Given the scale of the job and the Covid factor this felt completely reasonable. The budgeting was straight forward and accurate. Our final total was with about a thousand dollars of the original estimate. The online portal was extremely helpful for progress tracking. We could check on everything from work scheduling to fixture selections to reviewing our itemized invoice. We could even make payments via wire transfer. To sum up, our experience with Let's Remodel and their whole staff was beyond our expectation. If you are looking for a design/build firm to help you with a complex remodel project in your home I can not recommend them enough.

"Let's remodel" did a complete kitchen remodel in our 40-year-old house. Originally we wanted to change only the kitchen but ended up also changing the floors in the whole first floor. We are pretty happy with the end result and the process. "Let's remodel" offers complete set of services including kitchen design, floorplans, 3D modeling that was really useful to visualize the final look. Gosh I spent a month picking the backsplash and ended up changing the pattern mid-project. Polina patiently listened to my ideas and changed the design showing me the renderings, I was happy that we shared the same view on how a new kitchen should look like. I picked mid-century style with split-color cabinets, and lots of storage space with space organizers inside most of cabinets. I spent a lot of time with Polina going through each cabinet idea and its kitchen function. Oh and it really helped that they have their own showroom which I and my husband visited several time to get an idea of how cabinets and finishes and tiles and all other stuff looks like in real life. Polina and Pavel (the contractor) set up a chat with us and promptly responded to my many questions during actual renovation. We gutted original kitchen down to studs ourselves to save a bit on cost, Pavel and his team were flexible to that. Pavel's team was excellent as we observed them during their work (we planned to travel during renovation but corona put an end to that plan). They kept the construction zone clean and tidy after each day Of course there were several change orders, mostly related to discoveries after demolition, within 5-10% of total budget. I'd say that "Let's remodel" bid would not be the cheapest one but they are honest people that won't nickel and dime you in the process and I think that is important, it gives you security. Also I learned that the material cost varies significantly like with backsplash tile. I picked the one I liked and it was like $47 per sq foot. After much haggling with my hubby we picked a really nice option that was half that. The kitchen was completed recently and I could not be happier with the way it turned out!

So when I needed a new AC unit I reached out to them right away. Unfortunately Glenn wasn't scheduled on the days that I called and I was handed off to Nick. He was extremely short, told me he didn't know much about them, but that I needed to call another company to come and measure first before we could order the unit. He also confirmed this same company "Portland Installations" would install the AC. When I contacted them, they were surprised as they don't install ACs or even measure for them. They were questioning why DeWhitt's would have told a customer to call them. So, when I called back to speak to Nick, I had to leave a message. I waited 5 hours with no call back. When I called the store again, he answered the phone. I said who I was and why I was calling back, that I had left him a message. He shouts into the phone, "Well did you get the measurements?" I said no, the company you referred me to doesn't even do that and they were surprised you told me to call them. He got very defensive, started grumbling, and said well we won't order or sell you an AC unit until you get measurements. I told him I'd taken my own, have the model number and specs of the unit I currently have, and know exactly what I need. Then he started to get really mad and said again, we will not order this unless you have exact measurements and furthermore if you order the wrong product it is not returnable or exchangeable! Then I demanded to know how exactly I was supposed to get these measurements. He yelled out the name of another company, and I told him I had already called and secured another installation company to do this work--and that when I ordered the AC unit, I was going to ask them to ship it to their office location. Then he got even madder! He said, "We don't do that" and "We only order these units in batch orders," and on and on and on. I finally stopped him and just said, "Oh I see then, so you don't want my business right?" I said I just put up 5-star reviews of this place 3 weeks ago--some of which have over 3K views--and now you are treating me like this? He started rambling out model numbers of GE units that weren't even on their website, then he says the stuff on their website is automatically put there by the manufacturers and they have no control over it. And bottom line is they can't get anything shipped until mid-September. At this point I was so disgusted I just told him to email me the models he was looking at and I hung up. I myself have worked in Customer Service for my entire 40-year career. I have NEVER EVER had a salesperson act so insanely RUDE and obnoxious! So I just spent my $2,000 elsewhere and I will NEVER do business with DeWhitt's again!

It's easy to navigate even when under construction and was very clean. We stopped by the bathrooms first and they were completely gender-neutral and super clean which I very much appreciated. We were able to fill up our water bottles before shopping, a relief because I had just filled my water bottle with water that didn't taste great so I was able to dump it out and get good water instead. The store itself was clean and had fun stuff to look at. I ended up getting a couple of little things, spending about $15. There were employees everywhere ready to help but not intruding, so we were able to wander without feeling pressured to buy anything. Check out was quick and easy. The whole store was very nice, very clean, and very welcoming. It felt safe and inclusive, which I appreciated as a queer person. Would definitely go back for more wandering!

Trying to checkout with the kids is nearly impossible as they are trying to scan items over and over again. I am extremely displeased that you won't have ANY cashiers at registers, even for families with disabilities. I am considering not continuing to shop at IKEA for this reason. Also, the kid area was entirely closed today. But generally I'm disappointed as my 9-year-old and 2-year-old want to go but only the 6-year-old is the correct size. This is discriminatory toward boys generally as they tend to get bigger quicker. You should allow any kid who wants to play (and not be closed on a random Sunday!).

Norman, Sharon, Wen, and Ian are exceptional--not just in their craftsmanship, but as people. They are some of the kindest and most genuine individuals we've had the pleasure of working with. They care deeply about what they do, and it shows in both the quality of their work and their reliability and responsiveness. The way they treat their clients is truly next level. They are consistently on time, dependable, and deliver beautiful results. Norman has an incredible eye for selections, and I really enjoyed learning from him about cabinetry craftsmanship. Since this was our first home remodel, we leaned on his advice often--and many of his suggestions ended up shaping our home in the best way. Throughout the entire process, they went above and beyond. Anytime we had a vision, we could call Norman and the team, and they would find a way to bring it to life. Norman would come out, take measurements, and make it happen. When I wanted a custom bookcase, they absolutely delivered. That level of dedication and follow-through is rare. Wen also played a huge role throughout our remodel. From answering every question to supporting us through the final stages, he was incredibly kind, patient, and present the entire time. The customer service we experienced was outstanding, and the quality of the materials, custom cabinetry, and installation exceeded our expectations. You won't regret working with this team. It's rare to find people who care this much about their craft and their clients. We're incredibly grateful to them for showing us what true excellence looks like.

This store is like the Mecca of home stores. And I'm lovin' it!…read more I was here today on Black Friday, of all days. It was crowded, yes, but I expected that. Despite the chaos of the parking lot outside, everyone in the store was cordial and well-behaved and everyone seemed happy to be there and were all in a holiday mood. This store has the largest selection of Christmas items and gift ideas (and even some Hanukkah ones, too!) of any home store I've been to in a long, long time. A small sampling of the items here: gourmet candies and chocolates (many already boxed and packaged and wrapped for gift-giving, and many from Belgium or elsewhere in Europe. Really pretty!), gourmet oils and vinegars and spices and pastas and sauces, lotions and potions and bath bombs and soaps, all sorts of beauty and skin care items, all sorts of bathroom and kitchen items and gadgets and linens and towels, decorative pillows and throws, gorgeous cutting boards and serving trays and bowls and plates, picture frames, wrapping papers and boxes and cards, toys and games, pet items of every sort, artificial trees and wreaths and figurines and stockings, more candles than you can imagine, and stationery and pretty home office supplies. And more, so much more. As much as I mentioned above, I know I am leaving out a lot. The line to check out was quite long, but it moved along a good clip, and there were lots of fun items lining the shelves to check out as we moved forward towards the cashiers. It was an efficient process, as every cashier counter was staffed today (being Black Friday and all), so no complaints here. All in all, my kid and I loved visiting this store and if I lived in Portland, this would definitely be one of my go-to places!
