Holy smokes, the sandwiches from Calabria Bros are amazing! Upon walking in I said to myself "yeah…read morethis place is going to be good," and boy was I right. Their menu has a wide variety of sandwiches, meats, cheeses and bread. We opted for The Jake and The Uncle Dave; both were ridiculously delicious and HUGE. Do not be alarmed by the $20 price tag because the sandwiches are definitely large enough to share or eat for multiple meals. On top of serving great sandwiches the staff/owner are very friendly, helpful and customer service focused. I really appreciated them taking time to talk through the menus and make recommendations. Calabria Bros has a new fan in me!

You're warmly greeted once you step inside. Regulars know what they want but do take a look their sandwich menu posted above. They take your order right at the front spot when you step in. This is more of a take and go place. First visit here so I tried THE DAN. You can opt to heat it up but I didn't since I was taking it with me while running errands. When I see Porchetta that's what's calling to me! THE DAN - PORCHETTA, Swiss, Mustard, Mayo, Oil, Vinegar, Hot Garlic, Pesto Garlic, Roasted Tomatoes, on Sweet Roll. Excellent, well put together sandwich. I like that the light touches of the Hot Garlic and Pesto Garlic was Not overpowering, and it came together as a well-balanced, huge, filling and tasty sandwich! I might switch out the bread to sourdough or Dutch Crunch next time. But definite yes I'd order again! RED POTATO SALAD - Red potatoes, egg, mayo, celery, parsley. Mild and creamy. I'd order this again. Will be back at CALABRIA BROS when in the neighborhood to try other sandwiches like THE JAKE, THE MIKEY & JESSICA, THE MARK, HOT CALABRESE, and what looks like a group effort sandwich, THE DOUBLE HEADER! Looks like they do catering too! See you there!

I am a military veteran and owner-operator trucker; there are military veteran decals on both sides…read moreof my truck, so it is easy for people such as the clerk at the receiving department at Birite, for example, to know that I'm a veteran. I recently delivered some freight to this business and here are some of the more serious problems I've encountered: -the receiving department clerk (a female) was quite rude (curt, and patronizing in how she spoke to me each time I had to interact with her) -truckers are told that there is access to a bathroom near dock door 14, but I found that no amount of knocking or pounding on that door could get anyone to open it, so for the several hours I had to be there, I had no access to a bathroom -it took them about 1.5 hours after they finished unloading the freight from my trailer (which was only about half full to begin with), to issue the one page Proof of Delivery document. This turned my transit back to my hotel from about 1.25 hours into about 3.5 hours as it put me right into the worst of evening rush hour. Moreover, since my clocks couldn't reset in time to avoid morning rush hour the following day, this damaged me the following day too (putting me into morning rush hour in the San Francisco area, and again in serious traffic in the Los Angeles area later in the day). -the very rude receiving department clerk called me well before they had my Proof of Delivery document and threatened that if I did not immediately arrange payment for the multi-hundred dollar lumper fee, they would force me to return for the document the following day. When I told her that I never received a payment link, she said they must have forgotten to send it... -like many of these multi-million dollar businesses, Birite also didn't bother to build enough truck parking capacity on their property. So, they force the truck drivers who bring them the freight that keeps Birite in business, to illegally park on the street, literally next to the "NO PARKING" signs. -I was there an hour before my appointment time and their signage is so poor that I wasted almost ten minutes walking around to find the receiving office; despite being so early, they wasted several hours on unloading about half a trailer worth of freight, and put me into the worst of rush hour when I left the place that day, which caused me to be in rush hour again the following day since my clocks couldn't reset in time to avoid the problems. Therefore, I will NEVER take another load to or from this business.

This is a locally, family owned & operated food distributor business. I've had this company…read moredelivering twice a week, every week, for 25 years. All distributors have similar pricing, or at least you should be able to negotiate similar prices from them -- that's on you, as the customer. What sets this company apart is their great sales staff, the quality of their goods, their great drivers and the integrity of the company overall. I have had two main sales reps in 25 years. Think about that...other companies make a big deal if someone stays with their organization for 5 years. It is very common for BiRite to have employees for more than 10 years and on. They must be okay employers to retain staff for so long. Their reps have never been pushy or tried to get me to order stuff I don't want (think expensive prepared food) and MANY times have given me heads up about products and ideas that have been really helpful to me, and not necessarily of any benefit to them, other than ensuring my goodwill. The drivers are usually regulars on the route. This is a huge help and saves a lot of time and effort when checking in an order. These drivers are almost like my own staff in terms of knowing when to show up, which items going in what area and even checking with brand new items to make sure I really ordered them. These people are all great hard workers who make my life easier. If you don't like your sales rep or your delivery driver your life just gets harder, having people you are not happy to see come tromping through your place all the time. The administration of the company is so easy to deal with too. Any lost invoices, credits on returns are easily and quickly addressed, it's never an argument or hassle. I have used their chemical program and cannot say enough good things about their pricing and their great 24/7 techs that service my 3 dishmachines! The company also runs it's own in house food show a few times a year showcasing new, local and/or innovative products. This is so much easier than trying to get through the big annual shows! My relationship with BiRite has been going on for two and a half decades and I can say they are partners for success. I highly recommend doing business with BiRite -- especially compared to other national broadline distributors. BiRite is truly a five star company!

The meat was generous and the horseradish came through clearly, giving it a solid kick, though it built up to the point where it started to overpower rather than complement. My bigger issue was the bread. For a French dip to work, you need a roll that yields when it meets the au jus, and this one was too firm to do that job right. I'd want something softer, ideally sourdough. Probably won't reorder it, but I appreciate that they offer it. My coworker went with the minestrone and a side of bread. He said it was decent but needed a little salt to get there. Service held steady from my last visit, which is always good to see. One small hiccup: the QR code for ordering had expired, but staff caught it immediately and handled it without making it a thing. Dropping from five stars to four this time around. Everything that made the first visit strong is still here, but the food itself didn't quite land the same way.
