I attended a fabulous hands-on group lesson in chocolate making. Elyce is a wonderful teacher, and I learned so much. Everyone took home a box of the chocolates they made in class to enjoy the following day. Our chocolates were even better the next day! I had the displeasure of trying sample of Cocotutti at their booth at the San Francisco Chocolate salon today. I wedged my way through a crowd and asked for 2 samples, one for me and one for my wife. The vendor tersely asked who the other piece was for. I said my wife and she asked where is she? I pointed to her and she finally relented and handed me two tiny kibble sized pieces of toffee. Then she said, "make sure you share!" They have a dozen different things there to sell but permit one piece of kibble per person. 2 tickets, $54.48 total. read more

How did I miss a chocolate company in my backyard? I was so excited to find CocoTutti when I was searching for a chocolate company on Yelp. I called to make sure they were available and she said she would put together a tasting tray for me. Right when I walked in, the tray was ready for me. She has some great flavors, though the whisky one was on the strong side for me. I know, I'm losing my tolerance as I get older. The roasted almond toffee was my favorite and she put together a couple of bags quickly for me. I think she said most of her business is corporate, but I'm definitely going to go back for when I need chocolates for gifts and holidays. Ive purchased chocolates here in multiple occasions. The owner is so nice and the chocolates are delicious. It was difficult for me to check out her shop because of my conflicting work hours. I called in before their yelp opening hours and she was so accommodating and told me i can check out her shop before i head to work. I got this one red 4 tier box which i thought was such a unique design compared to the traditional square/ rectangle boxed chocolates. Perfect for any gift! I also purchased some chocolate bars and iam so sad i didnt buy more. I feel like her shop is a chocolate gem in brisbane and deserves some kind of hype read more

What a random Yelp find! I needed to grab a box of chocolates as a birthday gift and did a yelp search nearby. Coco Tutti is less than 10mins away so I texted the number on the site and Elyce responded so quickly. I asked if I could stop by today to pick up a gift and she said ok. When i arrived she already had a tasting set up with a bunch of the minis. She said that they do tastings every time you come by, how awesome! I tried a bunch of minis and omgggg... they melt in your mouth! I'm not a fan of dark chocolate because they can be a tad bitter but their 72% dark chocolate was not bitter AT ALL. I'm also not a huge fan of coffee chocolates either because that could be very strong but i loved the coffee one that had. Looking forward to getting more gifts here! Not sure what else to say about Elyce and her amazing chocolates that hasn't already been said, but I'll try... I had reached out to her via email upon the recommendation of another local chocolatier who was out of town. Elyce responded to my email right away and setup time to chat on the phone and find out what would be best for the gift I was looking to create for my wife for our 5 year wedding anniversary. I arranged a time to stop by her kitchen in Brisbane earlier today. When I arrived at her kitchen, she had already carefully setup a chocolate tasting and explained all about how each unique flavor is sourced and made. She laid out a whole bunch of options and flavors to choose from -- full sized pieces, mini's, bars, toffees! I bought a little bit of everything and assembled a fantastic assorted gift bag for our special day tomorrow. It's evident Elyce truly loves what she does, is fantastic at it, and wants to share her talent with others. Especially during COVID, please think about these wonderful local shops and the hospitality, care, and effort that's poured into what's being done (before just going to See's or getting some other bargain chocolate at the grocery store). I'm no Veruca Salt, so when it comes to sweet confections, I typically turn my cheek the other way in favor of something a tad more savory when the option is presented to me. Outside of a wild 6-month stretch where I had an insatiable sweet tooth like nothing I've ever experienced before, the relationship between ol' Ruggeford H. Joesten and anything loaded and laced with sugar has been, historically, tumultuous at best. That was, however, until I my palate met these lovely little vittles at Cocotutti. While Cocotutti does have a brick and mortar outpost inside of Rock Wall Winery in Alameda, you'll likely see them on a more consistant basis pounding the pavement and participating in all sorts of street fairs and events aimed at foodies and chocolate lovers alike. And when you see them out and about, you'd be a fool not to dip into their cookie jar of edibles! All of their caramels are on point (chocolate-orange confit, brown sugar w/ roasted hazlenut, and liquid caramel are my favorites), and their chocolates are little bursts of joy that'll delight your taste buds. Tried a few samples at a Yelp event. The flavors were too sweet for my liking, especially since I'm not a fan of caramel, so I doubt my rating would be useful for those who have a real sweet tooth. This coming from a person who eats Scharffen Berger 99% baking bars instead of 71% semisweet Valrhona squares. However, I will say this - the ingredients were definitely of quality, and I was impressed with the creativity of the flavors. Great service and solid product. read more

I had an opportunity to sample a variety of their chocolate confections at a recent Yelp Elite event in San Jose. First of all, their table was stacked of samples. Even though it was not their main place where they cater business, you could tell the way they presented the samples and the setup at their table, that they really stand behind their product. I don't know if the 2 person team of the woman and gentleman were the owners, but they were a delight. Always had a smile and always ready to answer any questions. They made sure the sample trays were filled. Unlike another one of the vendors at the event (*hint* a certain pizza vendor) they were prepared to give samples until the end. I will admit they were so good I went for 3rds and 4ths! I'm sure I wasn't the only one, yet they kept pouring the samples on. These are artisan chocolates and they kept pouring them out, yet a pizza vendor at the event only supplied X amount of boxes which meant not even half way through the 2 hour event they were all gone?!?! I'm sure it was harder and more expensive to make these chocolates than pizzas! Cocotutti showed me they care about getting my business and they did that today. Each sample I tried were decadent. Everything was so rich! So dieters, stay away. But you should definitely at least indulge in a piece or 2 or 3! They have some unique flavors which work well. My favorite was the Ginger caramel, peanuts with Thai chili. You either like it or you don't, but if you are open to new things and have a broad palette, that flavor may be to your liking. I just went in today to visit Elyse and purchase some chocolates for someone. I had such a wonderful experience, she is very knowledgeable and had a variety of chocolates available for me to try as soon as I walked in to the kitchen. In addition to the regulars, she also offered some additional flavors she had left over from recent events/orders. All of the chocolates tasted amazing, and she really helped me pick between certain flavors that I liked best and made great suggestions. These are by far the best truffles I ever had. The quality of chocolate used and the amount of work and care that goes into each bar is very high. The chocolatier herself makes the jams by hand, tempers chocolate and puts them together in specially crafted molds which ends up in supreme quality chocolate confections. I saw the process myself. I am not a chocolate fan but this was very interest. I able was to get sample of Cocotutti at Rock Wall Winery event. I glad I got to their table in time because the samples were almost gone. I see why because the samples were good. They had so many samples to try so I tried everything. I think i tried 6 samples .Each samples was so small but had so much flavor in each bite. I met Cocotutti at the Yelp event and I was amazed. First of all, they brought sooooo many samples. The samples were all different and they gave you a little information on each one before you savored the morsel. They were not shady at all, in fact they kept telling me to grab more! (I stopped after 2... don't judge =x) My bites were the "rolo on crack" which was this very heavenly caramel in a rich chocolate. The other was a rocky road piece that had marshmallow and some kind of nut. Hubs took something with hazlenut which he said was to die for. I'm not one for chocolate, but hot damn, Cocotutti delivers. I think Cocotutti's strong suits tend toward the fruity chocolates - I couldn't stop popping the strawberry balsamic flavored ones. They were the perfect blend of tangy and sweet. What I also love about Cocotutti is that all their chocolates are hand made in small, fresh batches by their master chocolatier Elyce, who also painstakingly hand paints these beauties. Tried Cocotutti at the recent Yelp event and it was outstanding. Lots of samples and very unique flavors.. They were so kind and you could tell they take pride in their work....love that. I loved the fact they would point out which chocolate was which flavor...nothing worse than biting into something you think is going to be one flavor and it turns out to be something else (coconut for me...yuck). They kept encouraging us to eat more. Well ok, if you twist my arm. We pigged out...but not too bad. Caramel filling was my second favorite. The lemon flavored filling was the best. Super yummy. Purchased the Thai Ginger , Florentine (citrus) , and Toasty Coconut chocolate yesterday at the Rock Wall Food Truck Party. Yummy. The distinct flavors stand out in each piece of chocolate. I first met Elyce Zahn at a SF Chocolate Salon, and have loved her products since the first taste! She has done two classes for my Stanford Women's Club Foodies group, and the rave reviews are still pouring in. Our first session was all about truffles.This May, she taught us to make beautiful "painted" bars and molded chocolates. Elyce let us be kids in a candy shop, and we learned new skills and saw how much work goes into each beautiful piece. Be sure to call or text before dropping by, as their location is a rental kitchen (they are not always there). We were lucky enough to drop by right before a big show.
