My wife used to go here as a teenager so I was happy to give Lettuce Inn a try. Her recommendation was the Ramsey wrap. I have never had a wrap with grapes in it before! That surprise created a very unique flavor that I enjoyed until the very end. The wraps did not take too long to prepare but you can tell they are made to order and not just laying around. My go to salad spot whether at home or work. They have 3 different sizes small, medium, and large. I usually get a small or medium salad because it's a very decent size portion sometimes almost too much. Their pricing is very fair for the area. Service is friendly and helpful. Sometimes it can be a bit chaotic during the lunch rush especially in warmer months. read more

For the most part, I've had good experiences here. However the last time I ordered in store, I'm a bit disappointed. I ordered the California Club wrap, which is the only thing I ever order from Lettuce Inn. The menu board clearly has what is in the wrap: romaine, chicken, bacon, avocado, mozzerella, tomato, and ranch dressing. I never modify it, so it was a bit upsetting when I got home and upon opening it I found they had added grapes to it. Since it's a wrap and not a salad, I had to go and pick out the grapes as they came along which was annoying. Maybe it was just a once in a while mistake but that was not great. read more

First time trying this spot. The oriental chicken wrap was tasty and reasonably priced. A good amount of spinach, lots of dressing, chicken, asian noodles and mandarin oranges. I asked them to omit the bean sprouts since I cannot have them. While most finishing my wrap I found what appears to be a small tree branch in my wrap which is a little... uncomfortable. My mom and I stopped by for lunch one day and we ordered the Vegetarian wrap on whole wheat, to split. At first I thought that around $7 was a bit expensive for a wrap, but after eating just my half, I was SO FULL-- and a GOOD kind of full, at that! Taking that into consideration, my healthy meal was approximately a mere $3.50. Not too shabby, in my opinion. There were PLENTY of veggies stuffed into the wrap, so no skimping there! In addition, my mom loves those little Chinese crunchy things (they often come with lunch orders at Chinese takeout joints, not sure what they're called) and when she requested they add those to our Vegetarian wrap, the employee made no fuss about it! Excellent salads. The ingredients for salad and smoothies are always very fresh. I like the wide array of toppings and the owners are very nice! I think the only drawback is that sometimes they run out of the toppings you want if you go too late in the day, but usually not a problem! We have been going here for lunch ever since 2009 and the management has changed 2 times since then. Currently for summer of 2019, the wrap menu has changed as you can no longer select the pre-made wraps from years before but they are still delicious. Bubble tea is an option now, along with the usual fruit smoothie options. My taro bubble tea order tasted a bit different from what I normally am used to from other places, since Lettuce Inn adds Greek yogurt into their mix, so the different taste was throwing me off but still enjoyable as the bubbles in my drink tasted fresh. As for the service, I'm afraid is the main reason I give 3 stars instead of 4, due to the delay to pay for your items. If you just buy a wrap, you get to pay right away, but if you order a bubble tea or smoothie with your wrap, you are left waiting for quite a bit of time (10 minutes) until they make your drink. I think this may be due to them being understaffed during the busy lunch hour, as there were only 3 of them. My friend and I waited at the front of the line until they made both of our drinks. Perhaps they can designate someone to ring up at the register while one other makes the drinks and the third person can just focus on making the wraps. Even though I have been going here for quite some time, if they improve their timing on handling payment, and also consider in having a working air conditioner during the summer months, that would make visits more enjoyable. It was super hot inside the place even though they had one fan blowing at the register. read more

I really wanted a big salad for lunch today so I ran over to Lettuce Inn. They have 3 sizes of salad but only the large size seemed like it would make a decent meal. The other sizes seemed more like side salads that you would have with one of the wraps. I had romaine lettuce with peppercorn ranch. You get 4 toppings with it. I took walnuts, Chinese noodles that you put in soup, dried cranberries and chickpeas. When everything was mixed all together it tasted great. I would like it if this place offered to chop your salad for you. That would have made it extra special. There are a lot of other salad places around but this one is pretty good and has been around for a few years. They also serve smoothies which I'll have to try one day. read more

I did a build-your-own wrap with a wheat wrap, spinach, artichoke hearts, bean sprouts, beets, edamame and avocado with cucumber wasabi dressing on the side. It was good and filling. I like the Subway-style create your own sandwich idea. There are a large amount of fillings to choose from, and everything looked and tasted fresh. The wasabi dressing definitely had a kick! If you are health- conscious, definitely ask for the dressing on the side, since I believe several (including the cucumber wasabi) are mayo-based. Overall, friendly service, fair prices and fresh wraps made the way you want. A nice lunch spot door on-the-go eaters. Not a good place to sit down and eat, as there are very few tables. The experience started out as a normal encounter that a worker would have with a customer. After we waited 20 minutes for our açaí bowl to be complete we were overfilled with discomfort when the workers would talk about us in front of us. It turned bad when we were forced to Pay more than was said for a bowl that we did not order. we ordered a açai bowl but instead we got a warm, soupy and slimy smoothie bowl that had globs of chunky peanut butter that tasted like hummus. After we asked for them to discard the coconut in our bowl they added it causing my friend to go into anaphylactic shock. We asked for fruit on top of our bowl but instead we got frozen blueberries and mangoes when we asked for pineapple. To add to our story the workers did not only scream at us but they also curse at us when we ask for a refund. when we asked for a refund they told us to never come back again and they screamed at us. Do not come here ever. If you were looking for bad service and wrong orders this would be the perfect place for you. To conclude, we experienced bad and unsanitary service. The avocado isn't worth paying the additional $$ for (it's essentially guacamole) so if you want one of the special toppings, go for chicken or shrimp. GET A SMOOTHIE!!! This place has gone downhill. Thankfully, they took a few steps back uphill by getting rid of their sushi menu (huh?!). The wraps used to be HUGE. I used to make two meals out of them. Now, however, I'm definitely going to demolish all of my lettuce and it's accompaniments The best way to describe the decor and the menu board/signage is...messy. They even have a sign they got from the Quiznos that used to be across the street! I can tell because there is a picture of an angus steak sandwich on the back. What? My friend wanted to substitute just ONE different premium topping in place of two and they still insisted on charging her extra. Nonsensical. It also does not make sense that the wrap prices have stayed the same while their size has gone down. Ugh. I can't complain about the extensive topping choices and salad dressings. Those have remained the same. I appreciate that these owners kept the original owner's menu. The Ramsey Wrap and the Turkey Club wrap may be smaller than ever, but they're still delicious. There are always customers, so you know the ingredients have to be fresh. I can't say anything about the smoothies because I don't know anyone who has ever ordered one from here, but you're safe in the salad/wrap department. Moral of the story is that you should still come here because the food is so tasty, but don't expect a beautiful ambience and count on not having any leftovers. This establishment was a bit of a quandary for me. Unfortunately, my experience did not begin well at all. I walked in the store and noticed that at approximately 2pm, there was no one in the restaurant at all. No problem, I thought at the time. The main issue was that I was stared at by what looked like a Asian couple and their young son behind the counter. I did not receive a hello, how are you, or anything of the sort. I was simply stared at. Their silence spoke volumes, as if they had never seen a nerdy looking Chinese dude in their entire lives. So that was their first strike. I decided that taking the initiative was necessary with these folks and said "hi" as definitively as I could muster in spite of the awkwardness. The Asian couple quickly darted to the back after that moment. The younger individual, meanwhile, took my order of a Thai grilled chicken wrap and smoothie (I do not recall which one I ordered) rather nonchalantly. Speaking in terms of the movie _The Matrix_, if you took the guy behind the counter and had him give a speech in front of Keanu Reeves and the Architect, even they would think he sounded monotonous. He showed absolutely no expression whatsoever as he spoke. I tried to lighten the mood by cracking a corny joke of how it might not be ok to eat in due to my lateness, and the dude merely said in his flat tone, "we close at 8." He obviously did not want to be there, and his lack of expression, in effect, expressed his displeasure of having to serve me. I was about to tell him, "Bro, you might not want to be here, but for the sake of your family (if it is indeed a family business), you need to talk to your customers as if you do care." However, I successfully bit my lip and instead noted it would be strike two for review purposes. My $7 wrap and $5 smoothie, I felt, were quite overpriced for the area. There is no question that this establishment is adept at combining ingredients for a well-rounded overall taste. While the wrap contained fresh vegetables and a delicious sauce, I could count the number of tiny pieces of chicken in my wrap with the fingers of one to 1 1/2 hands. Also, at this price point I would have expected a more expensive lettuce utilized other than iceberg lettuce. If I hadn't ordered the smoothie, I would have been famished walking out of the restaurant. Strike two and a quarter. Overall, I have gotten heartier, and perhaps a hair less tasty, wraps near my office in Midtown Manhattan. Clearly things were at one time more generous at this restaurant, for older menus online indicate that the wraps were 12". At present, they certainly do not come remotely close to this stated size. 5 stars - 2 1/4 strikes = 2.75 stars. This place is definitely worth a try, especially if you live in the area; I've always been a champion of supporting local restaurants. In any case, please proceed with caution. I live thirty miles away and likely will not return unless management responds appropriately to this review. read more
