Mom's Kitchen seems to be exactly what it sounds like... Food so good and comforting that it feels like you are picking up food straight from your parents. My friend who lives in the area raves about this spot often and anytime she's had a group over for lunch or dinner, this was what we've dined on. I never ever leave not uncomfortably full. She mentioned that they opened either right before or smack dab in the middle of the pandemic and, with their to-go model, didn't seem to skip a beat. I've never been in, just had the absolute pleasure of enjoying many dishes, but I would definitely recommend. I have been to Moms Kitchen several times since I work locally. I really need to let everyone know you have to stop in and try them out! I recommend you call in your order for pick up they tend to get pretty busy around lunch time. My favorite sandwich is the Chicken Bruschetta sandwich and I add Prosciutto (extra charge for that) and this sandwich does not disappoint! I just can't say enough good things about Mom's Kitchen To Go. They come in clutch on those busy weeknights with their family meals (which feed my family of five) or their delicious heroes, wraps, and sliders. Don't skip on the fries either-they're amazing! This past weekend we used Moms to cater a small family gathering after my son's confirmation. I ordered the Mac N Cheese balls as an app and my only regret was that I didn't hide an extra one for myself! So delicious and the perfect size for sharing. I work locally and order from here at least 2 times per week. Everything I have ordered is ALWAYS fantastic. The gyro sauce "white dill dauce", do not call it tzatziki ( I was gently corrected several times) is phenomenal! so much so that I would dunk the Pastrami Reuben into it. The gyro, to quote Andrew Zimmern, sloopy, ooey gooey deliciousness! The star of the show has to be the cheesesteak eggroll, holy #$%^!!!! I called today to order and when I was told it was sold out...yeah, that's right, a non-Chinese eatery being sold out of egg rolls! I replaced with the cheesesteak empanada....BAM just as good! I am skeptical about ordering anything different because on the SLIM chance what I ordered does not hit the Empire State Building bar that has been set.....I feel like I would have just wasted my lunch. Delivery right on time, home cooked to perfection tastes! Today we tried them for a hot/cold mix catering order for 100+ people and again everything was phenomenal! Wanted so hard to love this place. They have a Complete disregard for a simple request of no cheese on a chicken dish that never has cheese. With this Rad Name in my home town~ I had to try Moms of Mahwah. Firstly~ I'm not picky. I know whatever Mom is offering, it's better then Acme, Shannon Rose, & the others within 1 mile radius. I don't recommend any Ma on a first try, even tho I could have. Her Enchiladas, Baked Artichokes, & Macaroni salad were incredible~ but could have been a fluke... I hit Mom's on this Thanksgiving eve for a 2nd visit. Not only did Mom discount my 2 rolled chicken yummies ($4, instead of $5 each)~ the family vibe hooking up my artichoke salad with pickled peppers & a touch of sun dried tomatoes was just really fun. (Go in~ you'll get it). There's a really nice assortment of desserts, both I tried were . I had to reconsider spending so much at Moranos & Uncle Gs for my platters this year, as they seem to handle their seasonal platters without stress. A secret place in Mahwah, Mom's Kitchen, which I stumbled upon when searching for a salad for lunch on Yelp. The salad was great! The grilled chicken was tasty and moist, (not the usual, dried-out, petrified fare from places who don't know what they're doing). I've since been back and had their version of a Reuben they promoted as a fundraiser for the high school. (The food was so good, I signed up for text specials). My wife had the chicken cutlet hero with greens, dressing, mozzarella. It was HUGE! Most prices seem to be around the $12-$14 range. (They might do themselves a favor by offering a 1/2 hero for &8.00), so says my wife. The place itself is a little hole-in-one the wall. The staff are great! Friendly fun and oh so nice. I ordered a 1/2 tray of chicken tenders and they were great! It was a generous tray and the chicken was soooo tender. Chicken was perfectly breaded and they didn't taste deep fried but instead like they were fried/sauteed in oil. Nice crispy breading, not oily and so moist. Very reasonable for the amount of chicken. First time visitors, solid first experience took our food to go. Had a veggie hero, which was eggplant with vegetables on wonderful bread, and we tried three of their empanadas. Really good!!! My husband loves their breaded chicken cutlets so I order them just by themselves. They're always fresh and hot. This last visit I picked up the Tomato Country Barley soup from the freezer. I just had it for lunch and that's my whole reason for the review. It was excellent!! Expect there to be a problem with your order 50% of the time and you won't be disappointed. Been here dozens of times and the food is amazing. Everything has been great. They just need to get their crap together. About 50% of my orders either had a missing item or a wrong item. Recently I picked up an order that I called in and while I was there I asked for an order of fries to go. They told me 10 minutes so I waited. After 10 minutes had passed they told me they were out of fries. WTF???? If the food wasn't good I would never consider coming back here. read more
