While I've generally enjoyed all the dishes I tried, I was disappointed with the pizza here. The pizza crust was good, but the center of the pizza was very soggy and thin, making it hard to pick up, and I'm just not a fan of "wet" pizzas. The atmosphere is inviting though it can get quite busy and loud during dinner service. However, lunch hours are much quieter and relaxed.  The restaurant recommends walk-ins, but recently started taking reservations for larger groups.  The service here is good, and the servers are friendly.  They also have patio seating along the sidewalk during warmer months, and a dining room downstairs for private events.

Gtilled cheese was a hit - got the pull and the bread was well toasted. The home fries were a bit of a let down. Although very cool and layered, they seemed very greasy, maybe oil or flattop wasn't hot enough? Benny's were both good, shrimp cake was well cooked and crisp and brisket was flavourful and moist. Inside it was like stepping into a time machine back in time with the old-fashion vibes, decor and baked goods. We were greeted warmly by Helen and I got my cinnamon roll and butter tart.
