All of their bowls are fresh, healthy, and delicious. I especially loved the Green Goddess Bowl - lots of greens and mix of textures (including the soft lentils, crisp spinach and broccoli, and crunchy walnuts & toasted pumpkin seeds). Great place to relax and have a bite to eat. However, when it comes to coffee, I have say, the coffee is abysmal. The coffee lacks strength and flavour. I order a large Americano...and as you may know, Americanos are 2 shots of espresso and then hot water. The barista obliged by putting 4 shots of espresso in it and still was weak. The taste after the additional shots was like having a regular coffee at your local Tim Hortons. Coffee is like wine, you learn to appreciate the difference in taste and body. You might want to talk to your purveyor or perhaps isn't the coffee but the way you have adjusted your coffee machines i.e. grind, amount and heat. read more

Never buy a subscription service from Impact Kiitchen. For all of the times they kept me waiting because the broth selection was not ready and the many times i waited for them to pour a chicken broth because they were busy, today they accuse me of ordering a second chicken broth before the 2 hour period. This is a neighbourhood destination that I was enjoying and they talked me in to buying the subscription. 3 of the staff are delightfull and they work so hard. Today the GM was so shockingly disrespectful like I am trying to steal $4.00 of chicken broth. This is a perfect spot for business meetings, catching up with friends over brunch or to read a book. The menu is awesome when you want something delicious but healthy. I got the Kale Caesar and it was incredible. I have not had a salad that good in a long time. It was simple and very tasty. The one thing I did not like about it was that the chickpea croutons were a little too hard. I appreciate all the vegan options. The service was incredible. I did not realize we'd be waited on. They brought the food out and made sure our waters were always full. They took plates away as we ate. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant was well lit. Impact kitchen is a good spot for healthy, convenient food. They have a variety of bowls, salads, drinks and deserts, each labelled with dietary markers and a full ingredients list. I had the Kale Caesar which came with the most delicious dressing, crunchy chickpeas, and tender kale. The falafel I had on top was flavoured well but I found it to be a bit too dense and dry - perhaps they weren't fresh. I loved their fresh cold pressed juices. I had the Summer Citrus juice which had a hint of ginger to balance out the sweetness and I drank that thing like WATER! This prices are relatively affordable, with some being on the pricier side, especially if it's just for your mid-day meal. Ordered here through Ritual. Pickup was easy and my food was ready when I got there. I ordered the Lean bowl ($12.95). Got it with steak, spinach, avocado and roasted broccoli as the base. Boy was I disappointed. I get that it's a "lean" bowl, but it left me feeling completely unsatisfied. It came with a handful of spinach and literally only 4 pieces of broccoli. I will say that the avocado was generous (about half an avo), and the portion of steak was okay too (albeit kind of dry). It came with a light dressing of olive oil and lemon. Overall it was bland and pretty much the stereotype of what someone on a diet that doesn't know how to cook would eat. I have a hard time believing that anyone could eat this and feel full. I had to get a sandwich from Tim Hortons afterwards. Looking at the other reviews, other dishes seem to have more toppings and are probably better portion sizes. I had lunch with my husband and 2 year old son on Sunday. We ordered Victoria bowl with chicken, turkey chilli, Oat milk latte, a bottle of kombucha and a slice of banana bread. I brought this to the attention to a barista who proceeded to tell me that this is how cappicinos are normally made in Europe. Funny because I live in France. Stopped into Impact Kitchen today during a rare trip to the east side of Toronto. Ordered a flat white in a my personal cup and a chia pudding. The chia pudding was really good! Fresh fruit and just sweet enough. Similarly, the flat white was just milky enough. Perfect! Only gave 4 of 5 stars simply due to the excessive use of single-use plastics. Would have gladly waited to have the pudding in a glass bowl with real silverware for eat-in. But that wasn't an option. I also feel like that single-use plastic container for the chia pudding leaves a lot leftover that's hard to get to. This also opens the risk that a sorting facility may not process this piece due to being so dirty. I'll be taking this home to clean and recycling it myself. Otherwise I really liked this place! I've been here a few times now and I really want to love it but the food isn't really consistent. The first time I had the chicken and waffles, I loved it. Second time, chicken was good but the waffles had a weird curry taste. We've tried the farmers skillet twice now, first time was kinda bland but the 2nd time was a little tastier. They only have almond and coconut milk, both of which are not great for steaming. And the flat white was the price of a hipster cafe, but TINY. I love working here! I typically buy lunch here which can be around $14-20, which is definitely on the higher end of a fast casual lunch but fairly similar price point to IQ food or Fresh. Menu: I don't normally eat gluten free or follow a paleo diet, but they make some really healthy and tasty dishes that taste really good and natural. They do also have tons "healthy" snacks and etc which are focused on trendy superfood ingredients if that's what you like (chia seeds, coconut sugar, MCT oil, etc) I saw a negative review on the chicken - I actually thought that it tasted really good. Of the three proteins the steak was definitely the most tasty. Also, I'm not sure if the salads have gotten bigger but they're definitely not as small as some of the reviewers said they were. I had the hero bowl with chicken and thought it was huge - definitely a good serving size. Layout:I love how spacious it is (similar to Quantum coffee). They don't need to cram as many tables as possible and there's usually seating during the weekdays - although surprising how popular it is nonetheless. They also have two areas that have lots of charting ports and free wifi meaning they are work friendly! Great service, high prices, slightly above average food. I had the steak and eggs, and the steak was a little over cooked for my liking (medium well). The eggs were ok but nothing special; however, the avocado that came with it was really good. The black beans that came with it were cold; clearly by design, but it surprised me and was a put off. My wife had the avocado toast, after they told us they had just run out of the protein pancakes. She liked the toast but said it wasn't anything to write home about. We also got some bacon to split, which was reasonably priced at $3 for three strips, but the bacon strips were pretty thin. There just wasn't a lot to it. The bone broth was scalding hot, and didn't have a ton of flavor, but it was nice and warming with the near zero degree (Fahrenheit) temperatures outside. We grabbed some small desserts that they had; my wife had the collagen chocolate pudding which my wife loved. I had the raw chocolate chip cookie dough; it was very dense but the taste was really good. Staff was really nice and friendly, and it was great to find some healthy options while traveling. I can't give it the highest marks, but we will probably be back just to keep having healthy options on our trip. read more

Heard about Impact kitchen for a while, but never got the chance to make here. The best thing about this place is the "water, " which triggered me to post this review. Not because the water itself is anything special but the caring staff brought over to me after I finished my delicious charcoal latter. Normal coffee shops don't give a damn about it, they will put a bottle on the side and let your service yourself. At impact kitchen, they care about their customers as they did for their food. Love this gesture of thoughtfulness! The food is delicious, miss this type of healthy colourful food with slightly over priced tag, but hey! Better than medical bills! After having last week one of the best latte's in Toronto with excellent service, a carafe of water and a pleasant chat with the server - the coffee was perfectly served with a lovely leafy swirl on the top, lovely texture and excellent taste, my wife an I returned today Sunday Aug 21st to a disaster! The coffee was not prepared by a barista who cared for what he was doing. The coffee had no texture with the previous brown "crust" with small bubbles, it looked like milk with no swirl on the top, - no water was provided and when my coffee was swerved it had been tipped into the saucer- no apology and no attempt to get a tissue to either put under the cup or to take it away and clean the saucer. Others around us I also heard complain. I spoke to the barista and asked if he had used skimmed milk because the texture was strange and "watery" but was told it was full milk with a shrug! Given the cost is higher than most other specialty coffee shops, this was not a good experience. Clearly the team today had very little interest in pleasing the customers- I will not go back to the shop on Adelaide near Spadina. read more

As stated in other reviews this place can be on the pricey side of things. But everything I have here I love!!! The chocolate cookie is hands down the best dark chocolate cookie I've ever had! Even better than mine! Ha ha so it's a must!!! If you like it dark! ;) I also enjoyed the venison stew with roasted potatoes. It was $8.95 plus tax for a small, but it came with an equal sized bow of roasted baby potatoes. I can have a big appetite at times, and I found I was really full from a small serving. The juices always seem fresh, I wish they served them in glass bottles, but they are still great! Plus they have a large selection of charcoal beverages. Great for detoxification. I would have never visited this place if it wasn't for having to spend my Btz (from Bunz) and I was pleasantly surprised. The place is very spacious and the servers are friendly. I enjoyed their Lean Bowl a couple of times because it's very clean, healthy eating that doesn't break the bank. It doesn't look huge, but it is filling for lunch. My partner has also tried the Grass Fed Burger that comes with a keto bun, so I can understand the higher pricing. He doesn't follow a keto diet, and he didn't hate the bun, so that's a win. I like the emphasis on fresh, raw, healthy food -- but I would prefer knowing if any ingredients are organic. This is particularly important for the bone broth and the juices. The bone broth is delicious and felt nourishing; the Halo bowl with falafel balls was bland in the dressing department, but decent. The juices are ok, but some (like BEATZ) needs some zing - like lime or ginger that you can actually taste. I love the concept here, but again, I'd like some more flavour and the addition of organics. You're drinking condensed pesticides when juice is made from commercial produce. Also, the juice is very expensive: the Village Juicery juices are larger, organic, bottled in glass and have more zip. Hopefully Impact will develop their menu as they grow. update 1.5 years later, adding a star: Impact has upped it's game after revamping since I first ate here a few times 1.5 years ago. The Zesty Mexican was nicely done with pico de Gallo, guacamole, black beans, almond tortillas, cashew sour cream, kale that was so finely shredded that you don't have to chew it for 10 minutes, red pepper, lime wedge and cilantro lime dressing. I omitted the rice since I don't do grains. I didn't find it that "zesty", but for $16 it's great, filling food. I'd give 5 stars if I knew it was organic, but am getting conflicting info.
