a bowl of hummus and a plate of pita chips

Amazing food and friendly staff & reasonable price Legit Middle Eastern food for sure Hummus w/ meat: lamb meat amazingly harmonized with the hummus that cannot be found on any Mediterranean place. Definitely recommend Fattoush Salad: fried pita chips with tomato, and salad. Seasoned well with olive oil and maybe balsamic(?) and other spices Desserts were AWESOME. I tried kanafeh and basbousa and they are amazing - definitely want to try out more stuffs here :)

Baba Ghanouj, Eggplant Motabbal and pita

Hubby and I were craving Mediterranean food and fortunately stumbled across Levant in Malden on Yelp. Best find in a long time! The name on the building threw us off at first, but if you go to the right street address you're there (#12). Really great guy behind the register that took our order, made our food and delivered it. We ordered a baba ghanouj and eggplant moutabal as apps (came with a generous side of pita slices) and split a chicken shawarma sandwich. The flavors jumped off the plate (the tahini was SO fresh and yummy). Plenty of food for 2, and at $18 total we were definitely the winners tonight. We ate inside, small and clean. Will definitely be back to try even more apps (and a Greek salad next time). Highly recommend you stop by--also as a bonus nice walk up and down Pleasant street after dinner!

Ate an impromptu lunch here on a weekday. Our server was great and she really helped us with some of the dishes on the menu. The restaurant is a good size, pretty clean and can easily accommodate big groups. For appetizer we had Hummus and Baba Ghanoug. Hummus was good and the Baba Ghanoug was just amazing. The tahini made it creamy and the grilled eggplant gave it a wonderful flavor. The Eggplant Motabbal was meh and we weren't a big fan. My husband also tried Chicken Liver and in spite of good flavors he said that the entire dish was way too sour for his taste. They may have used the lemon to cut down the gamey flavor but it overpowered the dish completely. For main, I had their falafel plate which came with this amazingly flavored delicious side of rice. The falafel themselves were a little on the dry side. My husband had a meat dish that he said was spectacular. Unfortunately we do not remember the name. For dessert, we had Halawa With Cheese and it was tasty but had overpowering taste of rose water. Overall the service and the meal was good and I would not hesitate to dine here again. 3.5 stars!

Delicious food for a really amazing price! I have eaten a few different items now and find the appetizers are just right for sharing, the sandwiches (which are pita wraps) are perfectly portioned for a satisfying meal. I appreciate that the menu is straightforward while still offering a wide variety of goodies. Really comforting, feel good food. The owner is very friendly and every meal comes with a delicious mushroom cream soup as a starter. If you've come to this location when it used to be Darrna, you're in for a pleasant surprise as the service and affordability have skyrocketed now that it is Levant Delight.

This is my favorite Egyptian restaurant! Food was well made, quality was superb, and the hospitality can't be beat. Felt like home. Will definitely be back!

The menu changes often, which makes me wish I lived closer so I could visit regularly. We ordered quite a few dishes, and the portions were perfect for sharing. The fresh bread was an amazing start to the meal, and the sugar snap peas were a standout. Since the menu is always evolving, my recommendation is to ask your server what the chef is most excited about and order it. You really can't go wrong. This was a memorable dining experience, and I hope my next visit won't be too far away.

Reservations were already fully booked for the next month out, so we decided to take our chance and see if we could get bar seating around opening time. It was already pretty packed 10 minutes after opening, and the host told us that bar seating would open up in about an hour, but we would have to wait at the restaurant. Meanwhile, the wait for a table would be almost 2 hours, but we would be notified when our table is ready so we put ourselves down on the table waitlist and went elsewhere in the mean time. We came back after 2 hours, and the table was ready exactly then! I ordered some sort of Mango Mocktail and then my friend and I shared the Black Sea Cornbread and Roasted Sunchokes. Food is very unique with creative twists on all their dishes. The cornbread was delicious - it basically melted in my mouth and I liked how it actually had a kick to it. Very tasty, but just a tad bit salty. I have never had Sunchokes before but they were delicious! Very colorful presentation. A lot of the sauce was at the bottom so it could have been mixed more evenly. Mango mocktail was sweet and refreshing! Overall, Sarma has great, flavorful food and plenty of vegetarian options. Very difficult to get reservations so either plan well in advance or arrive right at opening time

I used my handy-dandy Yelp Boston app and landed on Nour cafe! I saw that they had #shawarma and that it was some of the best in the area, so here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: This place is literally a gas station, but there's nothing wrong with that. You pull up to the Shell, get some gas or park at a pump that's out of order or one of the available parking spots off to the right, but this place isn't really designed for you to dine in. Lol. Yes, you can sit in and eat off to the left side, but they really want you to leave. Once inside you make a right and above the drink coolers are a series of TVs that show you the menu. Continue to your right and you'll see the kitchen where all of the magic happens. Simple setup here. Service: There isn't any. You walk up to the counter, order your food, pay for it where you'd normally pay for gas then wait for them to call your name. My food was ready in 10 minutes. Food: I went with the mixed grill plate because I just FELT IN MY SOUL that I'd get a WHOLE LOT of food. Boy was I right! Lol. So the mixed grill plate comes with chicken shawarma, steak shawarma, ground lamb kabob, rice, a big pita, pickled vegetables, a slaw, a grilled onion mixture and hummus. Wow. Everything was SO good, SO seasoned and SO filling. I literally could eat on this for 2 and maybe 3 meals! I broke the pita into 4 smaller pieces and then made mini shawarmas with different meats in them! Lol. It was a bit messy, but you can totally eat this with a fork and knife without a problem. The food was excellent. Value: $16.99 is what I paid and when I got to my hotel then opened the lid to see all of that food I was just so blown away. How did they make any money by giving me all of this?! Lol. Astounded. Everything on the menu is cheap and there were many things under $10.00. In conclusion, I'd definitely pull up and get this exact same meal again! I went with the mixed grill to experience the different meats this place had to offer. I loved eating from here.

A location in an quiet residential part of Watertown? Now, it's really just a take-out/delivery spot. The restaurant is located in the back of the Armenian Cultural and Educational Center, where they have an industrial kitchen. There is limited signage. Basically, you go to the back of the building, where it is unfinished and basically a dirt plot. The backdoor is open where you can pick up your order if you elect to do takeout. I only saw one person working (a nice middle-aged lady). Unfortunately, some delivery person took my order so I had to wait around for the restaurant to fulfill the order. Otherwise, the food was terrific. The braised beef wrap was fresh and flavorful. The fattoush and Armenian salads were very fresh and were great accompaniments. In their hurry to fulfill the order, the restaurant missed one of the wraps. But they offered to refund us for the missing wrap, so it was fine. If you are hankering for some Anoush'ella, but are in the suburbs, you now don't have to go into Boston or Cambridge anymore. Just go to a non-descript back of a cultural center (or better, just get it delivered).
