You know sometimes you just need to clear your head. Well this has been the perfect place for that. I have been coming here forever. If it's before I head to work to catch the sunrise. Or if it's after to see the beautiful sunset. The views here are amazing. It's never really crowded and comes with tons of parking along the trail. Once you get out and start your walk or run . You will come along plenty of seats to partake in the views. They also offer Plenty of rest rooms along the trail and water stations for those of use who get thirsty it have dogs that need a sip. This is a must visit location in foster city!

This has been my happy place since childhood, and it still serves me very well as a place to get away by going just a block away from civilization.

The Foster City Levee-Pedway is a flat, paved path that starts on the northwest side of Foster City alongside the lagoon + then continues south to encircle the city until it joins with the Bay Trail around the east + north sides of the city https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/levee-pedway-foster-city?select=SyxVAa0UHMyTWWWQGl3BjA, where it then passes underneath the San Mateo Bridge + continues west to the city of San Mateo. With its scenic waterside views of the lagoons https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/levee-pedway-foster-city?select=ErjN1D_6vyqqI4xDUgzT5w + the San Francisco Bay https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/levee-pedway-foster-city?select=g228jC2JyuQGAVLflv1u5A, the pathway is popular with locals--enjoyed by families taking strolls, runners, bicyclists, peewee tricyclists, dog-walkers, Pokemon GO players, etc. If one needs a restroom stop or a sip of water along the path, there are at least 5 public bathrooms with water fountains nearby that I know of: in Port Royal Park (on the south side of Foster City), in Sea Cloud Park (southeast side), in Shorebird Park (east side), Bridgeview Park (north side) https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/levee-pedway-foster-city?select=h8wTrODFBNbrQY2kLdNC7A + Seal Point Park (northwest side). These public bathrooms are unlocked at dawn + locked after sundown. As a runner, this is one of my favorite paths to help me get longer runs in, as the full circumference of Foster City is about 10 miles. The path is concrete, but there is a dirt edge around most of it https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/levee-pedway-foster-city?select=JwcD17pLUp-1vJttBYnD1g if one is looking to get some trail running in. If one is cycling, the posted speed limit is 15mph https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/levee-pedway-foster-city?select=ZJNJeYKflz7lgRMH3R4PZQ on the path + there is generally good visibility for passing pedestrians. Surrounding fauna + flora doesn't seem to vary too much by season. There's a huge abundance of Ice Plants https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/levee-pedway-foster-city?select=naKiHE2fCDggAv3BytK-Xw with their fushia + pale yellow flowers year-round, as well as long grass by the marshy parts of the lagoon. The city maintains the Ice Plants by periodically trimming them to prevent overgrowth. Wildlife sightings have included various ducks, geese, cranes, pelicans + even a few swans. During a dry summer month, I once saw large animal tracks https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/levee-pedway-foster-city?select=cf8zYIVTWT_cji2CNfA8Ew imprinted in the dry bed of the lagoon, but I'm not sure what curious creature created them. Stray cats are also a common sight along the north side by the Bay, as Project Bay Cat actively manages the feline population along the levee. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/levee-pedway-foster-city?select=KfRrk_eEzDiCKDkO6HFPbQ In terms of safety, I would personally consider this area safe to run around at night, but one to should definitely bring a flashlight or headlamp as the entire pathway is not well-lit at night. The sunsets are actually quite lovely https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/levee-pedway-foster-city?select=vyfNBaUnjaxbR84RprkEsQ from any of the western-facing sides. The only section that creeps me out a bit is running underneath the San Mateo Bridge as it looks like this https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/levee-pedway-foster-city?select=_weIY3hxJB_cp0ZZLHXTwA + there's some blind turns in the case of cyclists zipping by.

I always enjoy the view and scenery here with the serene beauty of the SF Bay and the wildlife that surrounds you when you need to take a break and take in the fresh air. With the great weather and location I can't ask for more. Clean and quiet besides the sound of 747's preparing their landing right above you as they descend towards SFO.

After leaving our boat untouched for six months, I ran into battery issues the day we needed it for a gathering with friends. I hit a wall troubleshooting online and took a chance calling Michael on a Sunday. Not only did he invite me to come by, but he already had the cables I needed waiting when I arrived. Rather than simply ringing up the sale, he walked me through the fix, explained the risks, and made sure I knew what to watch out for. When I discovered the damage was worse than expected -- acid corrosion on additional cables -- Michael had already left for the day, but still called into the shop so his colleagues could get me what I needed. He also answered my text messages asking him more questions. Thanks to him, we had a wonderful cruise with our friends that afternoon. It's genuinely reassuring to know that a knowledgeable, generous Duffy dealer is nearby -- not just when you're buying, but whenever you need real help.

As a first-timer, I found the boat incredibly easy to maneuver, which allowed me to fully relax and take in the beautiful views. I highly recommend renting "the Duffy" if you want to avoid getting sunburned!

FYI, there's areas that "No-Leash" required for Dogs, it has signs as a warning, which is cool for those dogs who are well trained and don't run away lol. I tried it w/ Sadie and gave me the look are you for real, Mom? Lol Overall it was a great 3 miles workout for us rookies as it's been awhile since we took our dogs out for a hike!

We will definitely come back again once it's open! 4/5 stars for the closure and only one restroom made available at the parking lot (I also did not see a water bottle/fountain filling station) Parking: There's a free parking lot (fits ~20 cars) and ample street parking if it's filled. I recommend coming on a week day to secure a parking spot Easy Trail: the cordilleras trail is wheelchair and stroller friendly! It's a 0.3 mile flat trail that breaks off into other trails leading to the dog park or towards the creek. This trail is paved, so no worries about bumpy roads or muddy patches Moderate Trail: the blue oak trail has a steep incline immediately at the start of the hike. It zig zags and is a ~200 ft elevation increase for 0.4 miles. It gets dusty but is doable due to the many trees for shade. It leads directly to the off leash dog area
