My advice for anyone looking at Pelleco:…read more 1. During your walk through, check to see if the design ideas are being written down by the contractor. 2. Do not let construction start until you have your approved design plans / drawings in hand and have personally inspected cabinets (and other elements) in-person prior to installation. 3. Check to insure that sub-contractors are licensed. 4. Be aware that YOU need to contact inspectors to inspect the work, Pelleco will not do that for you. 5. Safety items: Tile floors can contain cancer causing materials. You need to ensure your home is ventilated with an industrial fan during demolition. 6. A few other notes: A) Pelleco does not use a dumpster. Your home is the dumpster, until they can pick up the garbage. B) A portable outhouse will not be provided by Pelleco. C) You will have to inspect the work and notify Pelleco if something is done incorrectly or missed completely--there is very little inspection of work completed. D) Floors will not be leveled unless you specifically require that before the project begins. E. Workmanship requirements, as listed in ROC are unknown by the contractor and will not be managed to ensure a high-quality installation. F. Pelleco told me repeatedly that I expected perfection. I didn't expect perfection, but I did expect the work to be done correctly. I think anyone can see, from the attached photos, that this job was far from perfect. G. Expect to be asked for payment prior to the completion of each phase and the completion of the work overall. Don't fall for this as it will leave you with little leverage to ensure your job is completed and completed correctly. Our job was not completed and warranty items were left to me to repair. Just in case the contractor responds with "changes were made". Every change was done in writing and approved prior to installation. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. However, due to Acklins experience, common sense judgment, relationships with sub-contractors, hard work ethics, and expert knowledge, we watched our home translate from architectural plans into a structurally sound and magnificent one-of-a-kind home that was nothing short of spectacular. No work has been started and the company is unresponsive. Two employees have called us saying that he has taken all the customers money and ran. He is also withholding wages from his employees. Employees say he plans to bankrupt the company. Complaint has been filed with ROC and we are seeking out legal support. Sharing this so no other families become a victim to what he's doing.

During remodeling Bill discovered several problems and safety issues that had not been addressed in the past. There was a leak in a water line that was causing damage to my wood floors not to mention mold and a damp, musty odor. There were plumbing and electrical issues that needed to be brought up to code and made safe for me and my family. They fixed everything, they didn't just patch over it. I was kept informed every step of the way. It was a pleasure to work with a company with integrity and they stand behind their work. There are so many decisions to make during the process and they guided me easily from beginning to end. They even suggested some design elements that I had not even considered. I'm thrilled with the result. My new home turned out better than I ever imagined.

I lined him up in November 2019 for a deck extension to accommodate a new hot tub. By the time the tub was delivered in early December, Billy still hadn't started on the deck. So I impressed on him that we needed it done by March so we could have it ready for rental season. I checked on progress on March 31. He still hadn't even started. I leaned into him about the horrible schedule slippage and lack of communication, and I offered to pay the $18,000 in advance so that my project could get his attention. He agreed to get on it. But the next day, he texted that he was quitting the job entirely. I called, but he wouldn't take my call. I asked for a reference to another contractor, and he wouldn't give me one. I should have gotten Billy under contract, but I trusted his word that he would complete the work. Good guy, but unreliable at his word; if you use him, get a contract and manage him to it.

I could call them again but I'm not going to go after them and beg them to do my project. It's obvious that they are not interested in my project but they could at least tell me that. This lack of communication is reason enough not to have them work for me, ever. How about you?
