This store is beautifully curated and aesthetically pleasing with seemingly elevated work out…read moreclothes until you...touch the fabrics or try the items on. Most of the items I grabbed were polyester blends that lack the structure and refinement for the price point. The tee I tried on failed flat in drape and finish - I couldn't wait to take it off and get out of the store. I was a huge fan of GAP/BR/Old Navy (I'm local), not anymore :(

The…read morestore is usually great and it's a nice job for the employees too: low stress, good music, friendly team, and an upscale neighborhood clientele. One employee, however (a blonde woman with blue eyes), was consistently condescending and disengaged. She initially avoided contact, then made little effort to help, and tried to get her colleagues to pick up the slack. Even when asked, she offered no guidance on products, sizing, pricing, or sales. She also didn't help order online when they didn't have an item. Just said "you can do it on your phone ". When I asked if I had done something to offend her, she said, "No, you're fine," but failed to recognize the clear discomfort in the interaction. No customer service at all. I mean, it's a pretty nice job - why the nasty attitude towards customers? I'm kicking myself for not asking to work with someone else--why put myself through that when I'm a loyal customer? I still ended up purchasing six items, and the rudeness continued through checkout. The attitude came across as entitled and was completely out of place in an otherwise positive store. Plus she was really no help at all.

They also have resale stuff, gently used, and some in store clearance racks, where the deals are over the top. At the SF location they have fabulous store clerks, Paul was so helpful, a natural educator, super kind, he was with me all the way to figure out my needs. He made a wide variety of suggestions for gifts. No snobbery here from any of the staff, as with some high end shops. I will go back time and time again, even though the drive to this shop is 1.5 hours away. I got some good deals as Xmas gifts, and had a wonderful time wandering that part of town for a bite to eat too!

In the '90's it was so exciting to open the mailbox and find a new catalog to pour over. We loved everything! And the catalogs were like art back then. I guess that was back when Yvon was in charge. I was moving my daughters to the Bay Area in January for pilot school. We drove into the City to grab some jackets at our favorite store. I was telling my girls that I had loved that Ghirardelli location when I worked there at the Benetton store there. But what a different vibe this San Francisco store has compared to our local stores in Hawai'i. The staff and service in Hawai'i makes you feel like you are hanging out with friends. This North Point store made us feel like criminals while shopping. The elderly men that work there just stood and stared at us, and had no clue about retail or how to act around women. We immediately had an ick feeling and I didn't even want to purchase anything. My youngest daughter did get a rain jacket. She said she didn't want to wait for the mail order and endured a rude cashier as well. I know theft and getting good employees must be hard in these times, but somehow your whole vibe has shifted. Now the Pattie Gonia lawsuit has come forward and we all fully are in shock as to what you as a company have stooped to. I miss the old Patagonia that molded the company on values of the OG dirtbags. When I visited the headquarters in Ventura ten years ago, it was like visiting a holy grail for me. I loved your values and what you did to innovate outdoor clothing and just getting people outdoors in nature. Now I'm embarrassed at all my Patagonia gear in my closet. What a disgusting thing you are doing with this lawsuit. I don't know if you'll even be able to recover either. For quite a few years now, your clothing line has been complete crap. We want to look cool wearing clothes, not like a frumpy soccer mom from the NW. Your colors and fabrics and fit are so completely dorky now. Hopefully you'll pull your heads out of your asses and apologize to Pattie and all of us that you damaged by this decision. Maybe send some secret shoppers in to your San Francisco store to see how completely lame those employees are. They need retraining on the basics of retail and customer service!

(I regard it as wrong to go a store to check out the prospective purchase, then complete the deal with a rival; that's just me). I am not sure if they guarantee it, but I also have not found much of a difference if any in the cost. I write also to vouch for the quality of REI branded gear. I have not been disappointed. Their stuff is as good as any rivals. They seem to offer it for less as well. The other experience I have had is with returns. They live up to their reputation, which is positive. REI and Nordstrom are better than any other retailer. Their staff must be selected as polite or trained to offer exemplary customer service. Of this type of store, REI is my favorite. This specific venue also seems new, even though it is not.

You'll probably find better shoes down the block at Shoe Palace lol. The service here is hit or miss. We were told by Alex that only Nike online handles returns during that timeframe. I'm attaching a picture of our barcode because we initiated the return online already and he refused to scan the barcode and said we had to return it online. Although clearly it says on the barcode return to store. We've spent thousands at Nike this year, and when we needed an exchange within 45 days due to defective seams, we were directed to handle it online instead. This was during the holidays, which made it especially inconvenient. Customer service was lacking (Alex), and the issue was not handled with care or flexibility. They didn't even try to help.

Because this is an employee store, do not expect to find the latest and greatest. But they are improving with their inventory selection IMO. Fairly consistent business while we were here both days. But then again, we also get to travel on off peak days and times. I would NOT want to come here on weekends. Atmosphere - Must go through security to enter the parking lot. Plenty of parking. Price - Ski jackets were $350 ish... but with the 40% off and an additional 10% off, I got them for $225 each! Good deal. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1938; thank you for inviting others to join your employee store. I appreciate the additional discounts.

I cannot recommend Carolyn and Go Figure highly enough. When I called to make an appointment to…read moreshop, Carolyn invited me to peruse their website and let her know which pieces I was interested in trying. I did this, and when I arrived all the clothes that had caught my eye were ready and waiting for me to try them on. Trying clothes on at Go Figure was the first time in thirty (yes, 30) years I actually felt comfortable, relaxed, and hopeful while trying on clothes. I was delighted with every aspect of the experience, and went home with more clothes than I had ever purchased in one shopping trip in my life. In addition to being thrilled to actually find clothes that fit me, were comfortable, and I thought looked lovely on me, I was overjoyed to be purchasing used clothing. I prefer to purchase nearly everything second-hand, both for environmental and economical purposes. THANK YOU, Carolyn (and please pass on my thanks to your colleague, whose name I am sadly not recalling at the moment), for the most positive, supportive, encouraging, and productive clothes shopping experience I have had in over three decades.
