We have been seeing Dr. Leveno and his team on and off for around 14 years. He is an exceptional gynecologist, but unfortunately some members of his staff do not reflect the same level of professionalism. In particular, Carol at the front desk was very rude and, in our experience, dishonest. When I called to schedule an appointment for my wife, she asked for our insurance information, which I provided. I was then told that our insurance is not accepted by the office. Despite this, we decided to keep the appointment in case something changed. I informed her that if I did not call back, the appointment should be canceled. However, two days later, I received a notification that we were marked as a no-show and charged a $100 fee. A few days after that, I received a letter stating that we are no longer welcome at the practice. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this situation was very disappointing. I would appreciate it if someone other than Carol could reach out to me to discuss this matter further. read more

Dr. Leveno was my gynecologist for most of my 40s. I went through a divorce and found out who he really is. He never told me about the hpv vaccine, he made that choice for me. At 47, he told me that I shouldn't be having sex if I wasn't married. I have NEVER been judged as harshly by anyone in my life. He allows his beliefs in "being a christian" in making decisions FOR his patients and does NOT educate them in making decisins. He does NOT inform them and help them to decide, he does all of it on their behalf. I would NOT trust him. You have a baby with him, he will make decisions FOR you, as well as his patient. Not a good guy deep down. Find anyone else. His nurses operate in this same manner, or at least one of them did. Carol, his elderly nurse, word for word quoted him to me in slut shaming me. Run. Go elsewhere. I should have reported him to the board. read more

Dr. Leveno completely messed up my sons circumcision. Unfortunately it is not the usual "easy" fix, he had to undergo surgery at 5 months to try to correct what was done, is still having complications and won't be fully healed for a year. This has left both my husband and I heartbroken and sent me into very severe postpartum depression. Dr. Levenos mistake has really taken a lot of the joy of being a new mother away. In my head I keep blaming myself, I feel like my child was harmed. This whole situation has been hard on my family, hopefully if our baby heals correctly we will be able to move on from this. read more

I wanted to set an appointment with Dr leveno, a yound lady from scheduling and billing answered, she was very rude, they ask for 600$!!! For first appointment, other obgy charge 200-300$ for a selfpay. They use a VERY expensive vendors for genetic test (600$ instead of 300$ with other companies like Natera) I asked for the pricing of the pregnancy package and the receptionist was very blurry, didnt give me the amounts.. overall my husband and I are very disappointed because we heard alot of recommendations about Dr Leveno. read more

Been going here for years for my IUD. Treated with respect even though I'm not here to have a baby... which was why I moved from the previous lady who did my first IUD. They are very nice, everything is clean. The atmosphere is very inviting and Dr Leveno is amazing! I highly recommend this place to everyone for how pleasurable a not so pleasurable (IUD insertion) can be but he does it well and they follow up which is huge in my book. Dr Leveno delivered my son about a week ago, I had to have an unplanned csection and he made me feel so calm and took such amazing care of myself and my son. I can not say enough good things about Dr. Leveno. I struggled through years of infertility, treatment, and miscarriages with a specialist in Albuquerque before my husband's job brought us to Texas. We hadn't been in The Colony long when I found out our last treatment had worked and I was pregnant. I was so scared because I didn't have an ob/gyn here. I didn't have anyone. I was hundreds of miles from the only doctor who knew anything about me! I frantically researched doctors in the area and after one call to Dr. Leveno's office, I knew I wanted it to be him. He took us on and held my hand every step of the way. He listened to everything I had been through and all my paralyzing fears. He knew that I would need extra assurance gave it generously. He didn't judge me when I cried, or when I didn't want to think about what we would name the baby because I was afraid to bond too quickly, or even when I didn't believe my body was physically capable of giving birth and I was too afraid to try. I always felt understood and respected. My pregnancy was not an easy one. We had several complications, and my husband and I were afraid we would lose her every single day. We worried a lot, but we never felt alone. We always knew that Dr. Leveno was there, even in the middle of the night, and we never lost faith in him. We're moving again soon and might not ever see him again, but he will forever be a part of our story. I will always be grateful to him for the exceptional care he gave us those nine months and for getting our sweet daughter safely into our arms. read more

I completely disagree with Diana's review. I did not have a gynecologist in Plano, but desperately needed one in an emergency. I called his office, and his wonderful staff squeezed me in. That was years ago, and he has been my gynecologist ever since. Everyone in his office is caring and kind. This OBGYN started out very nice. Until he found out I had a gastric bypass. He made several negative comments about my weight and my decision to have surgery. He went so far as to make comments on my son's weight (he is nine and not overweight but stocky) in front of my son. Then when I missed my preop blood work appt. (I had food poisoning) he cancelled my surgery and dropped me as a patient the same day I missed my appointment. You may be thinking there's more to this story...but your wrong...I kept my mouth shut while he insulted me, because frankly finding out if I had a tumor on my ovary is more important to me than being rude to him. He seemed so wonderful on the surface until he found something in my history or life he did not agree with. I felt so judged. He's allowed to have his opinions but I believe it shouldn't affect how he treats a patient. read more

Update I had a really bad experience with the office manager/nurse. I chalked it up to the stress in the office for her and me being pregnant and sensitive. However, my mom came to an appointment with me and she asked me if I was treated like that every time I came and she was shocked. I would just have anxiety every time I went in for an appointment after that. We love doctor Leveno and the rest of the staff, I just couldn't stomach the idea of having to be around that person ever again. I was hesitant to even write this because I wouldn't want to do anything to negatively impact Dr. Leveno but I felt like they should know. Original Review I researched before I chose Dr. Leveno about 6 years ago and I am happy to say I am so pleased that we went with him. He delivered both of my boys and both times were great experiences. Dr. Leveno is very professional and has amazing bedside manner. I have found in the past that I have had "pushy" OBGYNs and he is just the opposite. He is very informative and generally lays out the various options you have and leaves the decisions in your hands. Also, this may sound silly but he never gives me the impression that he needs to be somewhere else or that he is rushing during my office visits. His staff is so genuine, Dawnette treats you like you are part of the family. She is really a treasure, I look forward to seeing her when I schedule my appointments. The other thing I love is that his sonographer is on site. My appointments are usually scheduled around my lunch breaks from work and the wait time is generally less than 10 minutes. Also, to my knowledge he only delivers at Medical Center Plano (where his office is located) so that to me was also a huge plus, it meant that he wasn't going to be stuck at another hospital while I was going into labor. read more

Doctor Leveno and his medical team are amazing! I came to his office at the beginning of my high risk pregnancy because I knew I had many challenges. Dr Leveno sat down with me and addressed every known issue as well as potential issues based on my age and past medical history. Dr Leveno is very nice but his staff are rude. I believe I was charged for unnecessary procedures. The first time I paid my bill but couldn't accept it for the second time. I have an ovarian cyst that I needed a second opinion on. I used to do a trans-vaginal test to determine the size. At Dr Leveno's office they start with a trans-abdominal test and if they can not see clearly they move to a trans-vaginal ultrasound and charge you for both!! I called their billing lady and asked for an explanation that why they didn't start with a trans-vaginal so I get charged only once. She was so mean and her explanation was"these are the steps". I had to contact my insurance company. read more

I am so thankful for Dr. Leveno and his amazing staff. Because of a prolapsed umbilical cord, I had to have an emergency c-section and Dr. Leveno was able to get our little girl out safely in about 15 minutes from the time he found out about the issue. He is definitely the doctor you want to have in the case of an emergency. Not only is he extremely skilled and the best in what he does, he was very comforting in this terrifying situation. He held my had the whole way down to the ER as I cried, worrying about the situation my little one and I were in. I went to many obgyn's regarding fertility for 4 years. I finally got pregnant and did my research on obgyn's in the area since I was so unhappy with the care I received in the past. I prayed about it really hard. I wanted to have the best care for me and my new little miracle. Well all I can say it I had the best experience with Dr. Leveno. Not sure what the review from Diana back in 2010 was all about? I have been a patient of Dr. Leveno since 2009. He was very nice when we first met(as Diana had also stated), and continued to be even after we discussed the fact I had Gastric Bypass surgery in 2001. He never made any negative comments, or cast any judgment on me regarding my choice to have had the surgery done. In fact, he never even went so far as to say he didn't agree with someone having G.B. surgery. So, please do not feel intimidated or uncomfortable about going to see Dr. Leveno if you have had G.B. surgery. I can assure you that having had G.B. surgery was not what went bad for Diana's visit. I can also assure you that if it is his opinion to disagree with having Gastric Bypass surgery, he has not let it affect the medical care he has provided for me. He diagnosed my endometriosis, performed 2 surgeries, counseled me in my options in fertility treatments and finally delivered my sweet twins.
