I came in here today with a bit of an emergency. I ripped the lining of my coat and since I'm just here visiting, I needed a fast turn around. Like most tailoring shops I've been to there was no set prices associated with tasks. Thus, I was quoted a price that I, personally, felt was high and asked if that was "the best price possible". The response I got was really quite rude but with time being a factor I decided to go through with the service. I came in a couple hours later and as promised my coat lining looked brand new and the work was done well. Beware! The quality of service is hit-or-miss, and customer service is virtually nonexistent. My daughter needed a dress shortened because it was so long that she risked stepping on it and tripping. Before leaving the shop, she tried the dress on, and we immediately noticed that it was still too long. When I politely pointed this out to the owner, she responded in a rude and aggressive manner. I was completely taken aback because I simply wanted to address the fact that the dress had not been shortened enough. She claimed that I had approved the length when she pinned it. However, during the fitting, I specifically asked her to shorten it a little more so that the tips of my daughter's toes would show and there would be no risk of her stepping on the dress. After seeing how she reacted, I decided not to continue the discussion. I figured I'd pay the $80 alteration fee and figure out a solution on my own. Unfortunately, while I was paying, the situation escalated when she continued yelling at me. Whenever I tried to calmly explain the situation to her, she repeatedly interrupted me and would not let me finish a sentence. When I calmly asked her not to interrupt so I could explain my concerns, she walked away, went into the back room, and ignored me. The alteration itself did not meet the specifications we discussed, and the owner's behavior was completely unprofessional. Save yourself the money, frustration, and unpleasant experience--find a different seamstress. read more

Very unpleasant experience. The lady was extremely rude, aggressive, and unprofessional. She claimed the work on my dress would look like the original, but it didn't. The finishing was poor, with threads coming out everywhere. When I pointed this out, she became very defensive and aggressive instead of addressing the issue. She does not accept feedback or other opinions. Avoid her at all costs. read more

Came in to get my dress pants tailored. We told the middle aged lady that we needed the tailor and she seemed like we were being an inconvenience to her doing nothing behind the counter. Only customers in the store and she immediately started giving attitude. Getting rude and snippy making smart remarks. "Are these the shoes you're gonna wear" in a condescending way. (They were just moccasins I was wearing out that day lol) I could keep going but to sum it up Very bad experience, wouldn't recommend and will never go back! read more

Do not trust this Tailor with your alterations. I brought a suit in for major alterations. She had 3 weeks to complete the work. The jacket alterations were not completed. The pants were not altered in the waist. Unfortunately, I paid $215 for the alterations prior to the work being performed(my mistake). She was rude and refused to fix the suit stating she wasn't going to perform "extra work". Multiple attempts were made to get her to perform the work I paid for. She made false statements to the bank about the facts of this case when I disputed the charge. We took it to another local tailor who confirmed the jacket was still in factory condition(zero alterations performed) and the pants were not altered correctly. There are many other tailors you can spend your money with, ones who are honest and perform quality work, unlike this business. read more

What started off as a great experience, quickly turned into an awful one. I spent $120 on alterations for a bridesmaid dress and when I came back in to discuss how the bust was laying, because of the language berries - the woman who ran the shop - got extremely frustrated with me and said she did her job and not to waste her time. I said to her that is not my intention I am trying to get clarity as to where you took the dress in because it's laying strangely now. When I went to show her pictures of the other bridesmaid dresses where women were wearing the same one...she snapped at me. I was calm & collected, expressing I simply wanted to communicate because I had spent $120 and I am not happy with the finished job, perhaps she can go over that with me. And she stormed off speaking in her native language. I told her never mind and I would not come back for her business every again. And here I am writing this review. The woman is kind when you first give her your business, but once she's done with you, her heart quickly closes. It doesn't matter what other stress you have going on in life, you don't treat people supporting your business in this way. This is not customer service. read more

I had two sports shirts that need the sleeves shortened. Neither done correctly. One has wrinkles at the junction so she had to redo it. The other one misaligned about one inch. When I pointed that out to her, she suddenly became very angry and yelled "you can go somewhere else next time " I would never come back. I think she should go out of business with this awful customer service. She charged way too much. I regret coming to this tailor. read more

In the past I have taken many of my daughters dresses for special occasions and prom I have always been happy with results! So when I needed my dress altered for my daughters wedding of course I went to Levent. Very happy with results, owner was very pleasant and did a great job! My wife took two items to this tailor for alterations. When she returned home she tried on each item only to find that the requested alterations were deficient. In fact, both items fit worse that when she originally brought them in for alterations. My wife returned to the tailor and showed her that what was requested was not done correctly and that neither item fit correctly. The seamstress was taken back, took the items and tried to explain that they were correct at which point my wife asked for the items back and proceeded to show what was not done correctly. The seamstress, appearing agitated, reluctantly agreed and took the items back stating she would correct both items. My wife was fine with that and then asked for a claim check at which point the seamstress displayed her middle finger, told by wife to F off, threw the clothes at my wife and told her to leave. If I could give this zero stars I would! Took a dress for a wedding to be fitted for my daughter. (it was a bridesmaid dress) I asked to have the dress hemmed and have the bodice taken out. She said she could possibly get an inch by taking it out in 4 different places. there was a sash attached to the dress bodice that would need to be removed in order to work on the dress. When we went to pick up the dress, the hem was fine, but the bodice didn't feel much different. My daughter begged me not to complain, stating it will work for one day.... When we got home we realized the dress did not have the sash attached anymore. I called and proceeded to explain the mistake, that I needed to come pick it up the sash, as my daughter needed this for a wedding. With that the OWNER was down right NASTY said she gives everything back to the customer, which was huge lie! Said the sash wasn't there, and that I should check my bag, I informed her that she didn't even give me my blue bag back, that the dress was in a clear plastic bag with no bottom and there was nothing there. She raised her voice at me, like I had done something wrong, which I clearly hadn't, other than not noticing the sash was missing. We were pressed for time when we picked it up as they wanted to close for the day. They didn't care about the missing sash, blamed me and said it never came with the dress, another lie, it was ATTACHED to the dress, I would have had to cut it off. RIDICULOUS! A hem and bodice, that still didn't fit for $150, on a $300 dollar dress, now with a missing part. Please beware, they shouldn't be in business with how they treat people, I am still disgusted over this entire ordeal. How sad things have become. Best part was that she proceeded to rant at me how long she has been in business and there are never any complaints, yeah, not buying that either; but that's ok, I have spread the word so this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

Let me start with this; I have some altering experience, and have done it many times myself. This time I thought I would give myself a break (my life has been hectic lately) so I went to Levent's on recommendation of the store we bought my daughter's dress from. My daughter needed a dress altered within a week...that part was accomplished, however, it was very expensive (cost more than 1/2 of what the dress cost!) and she only did a couple of tucks near the waist. When my daughter tried it on at pick up I questioned the looseness near the waist - the waist that was altered - and she said, "that's where I pinned it and you said it was ok", and then walked away. Very bad customer service in that aspect. I also felt the straps needed to be tightened. I mentioned this at the 1st fitting. She said to just tie it tighter in back and it will be fine. Well, guess what, its not fine, my daughter tried it on today, I tied it as tightly as possible, and today I am taking in the dress more. I spent $45 for something I literally could have done myself. I don't know if I am more upset at myself for trying to make my life easier or Levent's! read more

We just had the absolute worst customer service experience of our lives. My daughter had her alterations done here for prom and she overcharged and messed the alterations up so terribly I had to go to another business completely. He charged one third to fix all of her mistakes. The icing on the cake...she told my daughter (16) that she should not grow up to be like her mother and that I must think she is a slave! I had a prom dress and a pair of pants that I needed altered within three days. I went in and the first thing I asked was "can you have this done within three days?". She told me yes. When I came to get the items she couldn't find them and had me running around her store looking for them. After rummaging for 20 mins, I found the pieces... untouched. I had to wear my dress as is. The top was too big and she totally screwed me over with not so much as an apology. As for the pants, she told me to pick them back up today. When I arrived she had not even touched them either. My son dropped off a suit to have altered for his high school prom several days before his prom. The tailor had promised to have it ready the evening before the prom. When we went to pick it up she informed us she never did it. She didn't apologize and was in fact very rude and told us we could take it somewhere else which left us in a pickle since he needed it the next day. Fortunately, I called Modern Alterations and they were kind enough to take care of it that same evening. I would never go to Levents again. It's one thing to forget to do the suit but to be rude and dismissive about the incident is not acceptable. The only reason I gave it one star is that I couldn't post otherwise. I have gotten both of my prom dresses as well as a graduation dress altered here. Amazing job!! everything was prompt and the service was great. I know i never have to worry when dropping off anything to get altered here. I would definitely recommend anyone to get their alterations here! it takes a lot of trust to drop off a $200 or $300 dress somewhere to have it be altered and you can count on this place! read more
