Kind, smart, listens, takes his time with you, gentle, explains things, and cares. What more could you possibly want in a doctor?

I had a great experience with Kin Foot & Ankle and Dr. Ishibashi for a sports related injury that…read morecame back to haunt me from my past. I played competitive basketball growing up and sprained my right ankle constantly. I taped it, rested a few days, and kept playing. I never did proper rehab, so that ankle always felt a little loose and weak over the years. I'm 34 now and training for a marathon. Once my weekly mileage increased, the old injury started showing up during runs. Around mile three or four I would feel a sharp pulling pain along the outside of my ankle that wrapped into my heel. After longer runs my ankle would swell and feel stiff. Walking downstairs felt unstable and I caught myself limping a few times. I had to cut a couple runs short because my stride felt off. I booked an appointment because I wanted to take care of it before it turned into something bigger. Dr. Ishibashi was incredibly thorough from the first visit. She asked about my full sports history, my old basketball injuries, my training schedule, and exactly when the pain showed up. She examined my ankle stability, watched how I moved, and explained how years of repeat sprains led to chronic instability and tendon irritation once I increased my running volume. Her approach focused on getting me back to running safely. She created a clear recovery plan with bracing, targeted strengthening, and physical therapy to build support around the ankle. Everything felt personalized to an active lifestyle and long distance training. The clinic itself is beautiful and very clean. The facilities feel modern and well equipped. The staff is friendly and organized, and appointments always run smoothly. Dr. Ishibashi is attentive, patient, and easy to talk to. She listens closely and answers every question. I always felt supported and cared for. A few months later, I'm back to consistent marathon training with steady mileage and no swelling or pain. If you're dealing with a foot or ankle sports injury, running related pain, or lingering issues from old athletic wear and tear, I highly recommend Dr. Ishibashi and Kin Foot & Ankle.

His resident scraped the spot where I had pain and said she couldn't see anything and Dr. Mullens said I have corn. 3 months later I get a bill of $650 from my insurance for callus trimming, not covered by insurance as it's "cosmetic" contacted Stanford and tried to have them update my medical record as "corn trimming" was not what I went in for. I'm told to make payment arrangements with billing. I can pay for the bill, but I don't want to because this is an absolutely ridiculous amount given that I have great insurance which would cost less had I gone in for a surgical appointment. Be careful when going to Stanford healthcare for appointments. I changed my providers to PAMF after this incident.
