I found Dr Klein on Zocdoc, as I was searching for a Podiatrist for my mother. I called at 9 am Lana answered and couldn't of been more helpful and accommodating, I made an appointment for the 30th of June... about an hour later she called me letting me know that the doctor had an opening for 2pm today!, We we're coming from SSF & the drive was easy and other then a tight parking lot all was good.. We get there early (for intake paperwork) the medical assistant brings us to the room she's told of my mom's issues and preps my moms toes ..(very sweet lady didn't catch her name sorry) Once the Doc comes in after a short conversation he clips my moms nails and informs her there is no infection or need to remove any nails ...and then we were on our way back home .... I was so fortunate to have found Dr. Klein. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and helpful and Dr. Klein has an encyclopedic knowledge of all things foot. I have multiple issues on my feet and doctor has assuaged the pain. He is gentle and thorough. I have referred my friends to Dr. Klein. read more

Dr. Klein is fantastic! I had a complicated break that wasn't healing properly. I found Dr. Klein and he quickly identified the issues that needed to be fixed for my foot to start healing properly. Wrote the following on his Mountain view location: 0 stars, please go to Stanford or Pamf. I came in with a newborn and was immediately told there's a 30 minute wait and suggested I go somewhere and come back. Couldn't you call me? Dr Klein couldn't care less about why I was there for. Didn't ask me any questions about my issue, just took a look at my toenail injury and asked: "what do you want me to do about it?" I asked: "it keeps looking worse and worse. Could this be an infection?" He said: "perhaps..." and recommended a $65 cream that you can only buy at his office OTC and insurance does not cover. Did not seem to care about any of my other concerns and was very rudely brief. I left distressed. Did I mention I had a newborn? After a few weeks of worrying and seeing no improvement with that cream, I went to Stanford Podiatry. I got in promptly, the Doctor was super patient, answered all my questions. Didn't think it was an infection, and was sorry that I was recommended that expensive cream. Said it's efficacy was in the single digits!!! Offered I stay to feed the baby for as long as I needed. I felt such a relief. If I could just go to Stanford initially I wouldn't worry so many weeks about it. Save yourself the time, money and concern and just don't go here. read more

My husband was referred to Dr.Klein by his attorney. Dr.Klein's medical clinic looked very outdated, his practice was equipped with a very old technology, his laptop was so outdated that it couldn't display my husband's MRI results properly, the receptionist was rude and impatient handling the referral paperwork for my husband's appointments. After my husband's ankle surgery, when it was time to remove the stitches, Dr.Klein asked his unlicensed assistant to remove the stitches and his assistant left 2 stitches inside my husband's ankle, my husband didn't know about the stitches left inside his ankle until the physical therapist told him that was the reason he was in extra pain. My husband was in pain for 3 weeks until Dr.Klein's receptionist gave him the next available appointment, even though he was in extra pain because they left the 2 stitches inside my husband's ankle. After my husband was done with the 12 sessions of physical therapy the physical therapist recommended that Dr.Klein request another 6 sessions of PT, to continue improving range of motion and strengthening my husband's ankle. Dr.Klein didn't request any extra physical therapy and told my husband he was 100% recovered. My husband still does not feel 100% recover, he tried multiple times to get an appointment with Dr.Klein to take a look at his ankle again, but his receptionist told my husband Dr.Klein is not able to see him. I am very upset, very dissatisfied and very disappointed with Dr.Klein treating my husband. What kind of doctor performs open ankle surgery on his patient, dismisses him and just ignores his request for an appointment afterwards? Learn from our bad experience, request a different doctor if you are referred to Dr.Klein by your attorney or any other source of referral. Dr. Klein is likely the most experienced Northern California doctor for treating my condition (Ledderhose). The procedure is somewhat obscure and involves getting poked in the foot for twenty minutes while medicine is injected in a number of places. I felt really great being Dr Klein's care during the entire experience. Because it's rare to be in the company of an expert on Ledderhose I probably asked a million questions and he very patiently helped answer all of them. Furthermore he clearly cared about my pain during the procedure and was constantly checking in with me as he continued to work. I was really impressed with his bedside manner and thankful to find someone with expert knowledge of my disease. read more

I had a bit of foot and lower back pain while working out, running, or standing for long periods of time. I've had the pain for years, but never thought it was severe enough that it warranted attention. I'm so glad that my primary care physician suggested getting orthotics. After getting my orthotics from Dr. Klein's office, my foot and lower back pain went away! Now I can walk and stand for a good 14 hours without pain. I'm very grateful for Dr. Klein's help, as well as the staff's patience as I went back-and-forth with my insurance company to see whether it was covered (it actually was covered). read more

Dr. Klein and staff are friendly enough, the office is efficiently run and timely. I saw Dr. Klein for foot pain and after x-rays, several exams, paying for orthotics, etc., my pain was not any better. After seeing another specialist on what I thought was an unrelated issue, it turns out that I have Rheumatoid Arthritis which was causing the pain in the joints of my feet. The Rheumatologist said this should have been an easy diagnosis given then condition of my feet and the swelling, etc., The review is for 2 star for Dr. Klein because of the months I wasted in seeing him. A nice enough guy with good intentions but he missed it. read more

I had a bone spur removed and my toe ended up permanently crooked and the root of my toenail was damaged so my toenail falls off my toe numerous times per year. When I asked Dr. Klein about it- he just shrugged his shoulders and said "well, that was the best I could do". No apology for my forever crooked toe. Also his staff first scheduled my surgery at a hospital my insurance would not cover, and then had to change it when I inquired. When I complained to Dr. Klein about this, he said the scheduler did not realize my insurance (HMO) did not contract with that hospital. Excuse me, the person scheduling the surgery should find out what hospitals contract before scheduling surgery. That is a critical part of a schedulers job. read more
