It feels good to know you're not contributing to the massive excess and waste of the fashion industry by buying pre-loved clothes (that also benefit the consigners!) It feels good to support an entrepreneur and her vision - when you intentionally chose to shop at small businesses, it keeps the dreams of our community alive. It feels good when businesses operate with values that support and welcome everyone - and you can feel the integrity, inclusion and equity that are the literal fabric of this store.

Well, at least my whole lifetime(+), and that's a while at this point ;). My relationship with Paloma, has changed from a shop where I looked at pretty things, as a little girl with my grandmother - to a staple. Paloma is my go-to place when I am seeking something special and unique for the loved ones in my life. Paloma never lets me down with their expansive collections of accessories, bags, locally made jewelry, and high quality US made clothing lines, such as: Cut Loose and Tianello. Being rather petite, the clothing at Paloma is not always available in my size. However, the pieces I have bought for myself, are some of my favorites. On the other hand, the jewelry is where I really go a bit overboard for myself. I can't resist the exceptional selection of handmade rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings. At first glance you may think Paloma to be a stuffy boutique, but the shop gals are ever so helpful, and friendly. I had worried bringing my kids into the shop would be frowned upon. This is not the case. I've discovered I am welcome to bring the kids in with me. Paloma even has a basket full of toys to keep the little ones busy. In my case, this means I make it into the shop much more frequently than I did before. One last thing: Paloma is an active supporter of community it serves. After being told by her employee that my items were wonderful & they would accept them I received a RUDE HOSTILE text from this owner, Julie, "we accepted NONE of your items" . 98% were items with tags, brand new. Including J Crew current stylish summer tops, Loft summer tops, shoes including brand new black flat-ish Franco Sarto, Burberry ($695. Retail) flats, She also referred very negatively to her employee stating she had no right to tell me what they accept. I was referred to this store by an employee at Consign Couture in the village -- a MUCH higher end consignment store with far more hospitable staff where I have had reasonably good experiences. I have now tried 3x to pick up all of my "rejects" and the shop is never open. I am in Salem assisting my 89 & 90 year old parents so it's not a simple task to drive 45 miles & be met with a closed shop !!! My next call is to the local police to escort me to pick up MY belongings!! Horrible store with few items ! Seems they have a very "hippie- ish " clientele. The one positive note, this owner is so ill informed and unaware of "designer" brands I found a $325 blouse for under $30 The rest was junk

I guess she was startled because she backed out of her store blindly with a clothing rack in tow, directly into us. Literally, we were behind her, not approaching her. So quite literally, she backed into us. Clearly not an excuse to cuss people out in front of their 20 month old. Someone that works in retail should have better people and human decency skills. All you need to know about this store can be summed up by the following: This store has taken it upon themselves to obstruct the sidewalk with an illegal, un-permitted "no cycling" sign. The path in front of this store is designated by the City as a multi-use path (see attached pic). So the path in front of this store is not a cycle-free zone, and you know that these are the kind of people that believe what they think is the law and it's their right to enforce their version of the law against the the free rights of everyone else. Not impressed with Mia and her boutique and her illegal war against bicycles on the multi-use path in front of her store.

Their pricing is incredibly competitive, actually best pricing in town beating out larger chain store prices, and the staff is absolutely the nicest group of people you'll ever meet. They took the time to help us pick out the perfect snowboard for my daughter, ensuring it matched her skill level and style. The personalized attention and genuine care they put into their recommendations made the entire experience enjoyable. I don't think she realizes I've been getting that alteration done for 10 years and could do it myself if I had a machine.
