We were called to the back and when we met Dr. Huie the super friendliness continued, he made my son feel comfortable and he focused on our concerns. This was how my visit at Oceans of Smiles went: Seconds after Huie introducing himself he asked my 6year old daughter if she had a boyfriend to which my daughter very happily answered that she does have friends that are boys in her class, then he asked the same question again but he said it slower and with an emphasis on the word Boyfriend, my daughter just turned and look at me with a confused look, I didn't say anything and remained silent, so then Huie decided to break the awkward silence with a stay at home mom joke (which he and his assistant laughed it off) again I didn't say anything and remained silent. The rest of the visit he spent it flirting with his beautiful young blond assistance, teasing each other about who could spell the best and other stuff. So Unprofessional!

We were told that my daughter would need to have four teeth extracted in order to get her braces out on, and even went as far as scheduling the appointment for us with a preferred surgeon. They give you school notes for both your current and upcoming visit so you are ahead of the game. On this particular day, it was cold and rainy. We went to sit back in the car and saw some people behind the desk. We got out again and knocked on the door. No waving to say they'll be right there, the woman who unlocked the door stood talking to someone behind the desk for an extra minute or two before opening it up. There was no apology offered or explanation why they locked the doors, the only reason I knew was I overheard someone else talking about it. It would be nice to keep your customers informed and have a professional, courteous front desk staff. You can believe that if I showed up late for the appointment they would charge me a fee. I've left this practice after two decades and took my children with me because I had had enough of…read morethe unprofessional and unethical behavior. I received a letter in the mail that was bullying me into getting cosmetic dental work that I did not want to have done. The threat and the letter was that I would be kicked out out of the practice if I didn't have it done. Unbelievable! And so very money hungry. There are instances with myself, and my child in which the dentist said that drilling needed to be done on the teeth. However, a second opinion, for my child's teeth, indicated that there was no cavity and that flu fluoride and mineralization topical were all that was needed. , All I needed to do is use Sensodyne toothpaste, and my discomfort went away. What does that tell you? The staff has been very unprofessional over the years, making nig comments, even about my little boy that I found intolerable and unprofessional. The dentist made a comment about my expensive vehicle right before I received the threatening letter. The arrogance, unprofessional and unethical behavior is intolerable. I am still considering whether or not I'm filing a formal complaint. I would never recommend this practice to anyone and apparently others in the dental care field don't either. If I could give zero stars, I would.
