We come here at least once a year during the bridge lighting but like to come by and visit anytime we are up this way. This hotel and bar is a treasure! There's so much history here you can practically feel it. The bar is filled with welcoming regulars and locals. Everyone is always seeming to have a good time and there's a pool table if you want to play. The food is good- standard bar and pub fare that includes a side a friendly service. I stopped in Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. Loved all the old memorabilia, to see. It went downhill from there! The service was abysmal, the server/ bartender was too busy on her phone to wipe a table for us to sit down to. Never checked on our meals which was over cooked. We were the only people in the place except for a lady at the bar. Couldn't be bothered to bring our check, a horrible experience that cost $50.00! Shame on you. Perfect place to end the day with a beer or a burger after being out on the Trinity River. Lewiston is pretty as a postcard and this place is the heart of it. The food was quite good (off a pretty narrow menu, which is a good thing for kind of remote place). And there were daily specials to add some variety. We went for Taco Tuesday to see if it lives up to the hype, and it does! There's a lovely side/back patio, which is DOG FRIENDLY so we took our 80+ pound pointers. The dogs had fresh, cool water and received tons of compliments. The view from the patio overlooks the back lawn and it's at the river's edge... tempting. But on this particular warm summer evening we focused on the dollar tacos. They're street taco size so order a bunch. I tried pork and chicken, both were delicious. No weird, chewy pieces of meat. Tons of flavor. Good spicy salsa, onions, cheese and cilantro. There's also a potato option for the vegetarian people. I can't comment on the interior because I spent my whole time outside. We had a wonderful time staying at the Lewiston hotel this year. The peaceful sounds of nature are perfect for just catching a breath and relaxing. Our visit in June was filled with floating down the river, running through the sprinklers, playing outdoor games and enjoying the delicious meals and drinks while listening to a live band play. What a great time at the Lewiston Hotel, definitely recommend. Bring sunblock and bug spray if you'll be doing things outdoors. read more

Absolutely amazing hotel, bar, and restaurant! We got the cobb salad and vege burger and it was incredible food! Great for meat eaters AND vegetarians! The atmosphere Is so special and unique and you feel like home right when you walk through the doors! Definitely will be back! Also got to play music there and had the best crowd and audience we've ever had. The room was so comfy with a beautiful view of the river which we had our coffee next to when we woke up. We had dinner at the Lewiston Hotel for the first time tonight and were very impressed with the food and the superb service. We both had hamburgers which were cooked to perfection. The onion rings were delicious and not greasy. The minestrone soup was excellent. The historic building was very well maintained, clean and full of historic memorabilia. Absolutely unprofessional. Arrogant ass people. Barstools were taken away from the bar to accommodate more customers, but what about accommodations for people with disabilities? New knee. Can't stand for long periods. Obviously don't care about their customers, and very illegal. Tried to address with owner about this and closing very early (without notice) on holiday weekend. A LOT OF PEOPLE in the bar, MANY FROM OUT OF TOWN enjoying their holiday weekend off from work. Owner did not care about the customers, or his employees who could have made w lot more money by accommodating customers and not shutting down so early and without posting early closing. This hotel has a special place in my heart during my 3-month internship in Trinity County. I had the pleasure of living in Lewiston with my intern partner & we discovered the hotel on our first weekend here. Little did we know that it'd be our local hangout & our place to get free wifi! We loved hanging out at the bar with all the locals & soon became locals ourselves! The drinks at the bar are very affordable & there's always good company to be had. You can hang outside in the patio area or head to the lawn & down to the river. My then-boyfriend knew how much I loved this place that he ended up proposing to me here during my return trip after moving back to the Bay Area! He had a few of my local friends help him with the proposal & he proposed on the lawn dressed as a knight walking a real white horse up to me! We stayed at the hotel during our return visit & it was quite affordable & the experience of living in a piece of history is awesome :) read more

I just spent some time in the very historic town of Lewiston, California and was able to visit the Lewiston Hotel which is under new management. The hotel is being remodeled but the owners have worked hard to keep the historic charm of this very rare gem that overlooks the beautiful Trinity river. Everything about this area is beautiful and the owners are very welcoming. The bar has such a rustic charm to it with a large variety of drinks and absolutely amazing food. This is a unique, funky but unique old place! Our first evening there was just for a cocktail or two and we were but two of four customers two weeknights in a row. The second evening we came back for cocktails and dinner and we're not disappointed! Kerry does some great ribs that are served with a small bowl of great chili, coleslaw and fries. Hubby and I shared the ribs, but I ordered a side salad. It was made of fresh mixed greens along some fresh produce (carrots, cucs, tomatoes). Kerry also brought out a cup of the clam chowder, and damn, it was excellent! I especially loved the ribs. They were tender and meaty with a perfect sweet-spicy BBQ sauce. The place is for sale. Hope that this old hotel will make it years in to the future. read more

Actually, the old Lewiston Hotel can be a fun place... the biggest problem is, it's ALWAYS filled with flies... bar flies that is... perhaps they could use the dining room entrance for diners to avoid being scrutinized by some of Lewiston's unfinest. The Lewiston Hotel is under new management and the changes are really nice. Still good food, good service, and really reasonable. There is a nice mix of visitors and locals at the bar. We visit Lewiston 1 or 2 times a year and will definitely be back next trip. read more

I used to frequent this place growing up with my family it was always known for its steaks. The food did not disappoint but the service did. A kinder bartender who is not from the city would be a great improvement. I may try again someday. read more

Today, mothers day, we were a group of 14 people for lunch. The meals were as near to perfect as can be! The price of the meal was also very reasonable.
