I am sure glad he did. The is a full service restaurant with a nice lunch buffet. Fried chicken, sausage and onions, au grauten potatoes, rice and gravy, homemade pork rinds and collared greens. I had the buffet and I thought it was delicious and a great value. My lunch with a sweet tea was $8.50 out the door. I thought the fried chicken was moist and crunchy. They had a sauce with tomatoes, onions and beef that was perfect to put on top of the rice. The potatoes they had going was a cheesy potatoes with pork chop chunks in it. This was the best side dish they had. One of my buddies ordered the chicken salad and I thought this looked fresh and delicious as well. He liked it and said I should try it next time. I will come again and update my review.

The second time I went, I got fried chicken from the buffet. Two breast pieces and one thigh. Both breast pieces were very dry and hard, as if they had been under heat lamps all day, but I had arrived shortly after noon. The thigh piece was good. Cooked just right, juicy, and flavorful. Therefore, I gave an extra star. If you order water to drink, be sure to ask for lemon, because the water tastes pretty bad. The two people that ate with me were as unimpressed as I was.

Beautiful wrap around porch with plenty of chairs, swings and benches to enjoy sitting outside and just chill before or after you eat. Enormous southern themed buffet with huge salad bar and equally giant food bar. Today there was fried chicken, pork steak cutlets, and fresh fish along with another dozen or so favorites like mac-n-cheese, sweet potato casserole, and green beens. The service was great and each dining room had comfortable padded chairs with lovely solid dark hardwood tables. We loved everything we tried, and we most definitely will go back again soon. Even had a cute gift shop with local syrup, honey and artsy crafts.

The restaurant is in a big beautiful home, we came in through the back door which was near where we parked and there is a huge hallway from the front to back of the building and that's where the huge buffet is located. All the tables are set up in the adjoining rooms and they are all gorgeously decorated. The buffet was delicious, so many things to pick from and I was in my southern roots glory!!! I would definitely recommend this place and would love to come again if I get the chance!!

Options seem to rotate. One day you're getting spaghetti and meatloaf, another day you're getting stew and pork. But the staples like fried chicken, mash potatoes and macaroni seem constant. The fried chicken, coincidentally, was the best thing I've tried, with the stew coming in a close second. There are MANY options so we definitely got our money's worth. The desserts look they're homemade as well. $15-16 including a drink is a great value. I tried it to-go the other day and it's charged based on weight. The price still ended up topping out as the same price as the buffet, so sitting down is definitely the best and only real option. Overall this is a great option after church or for lunch. In a city like Jesup with so few independent restaurants, this one is one of the best!

We were hungry and the buffet did not disappoint. We had pork chop, fried chicken, sausages and southern country veggies as well as many other offerings. There were several sauces on the table one being local cane syrup which my husband loves on cornbread. The interior is family style tables, nothing fancy but a local favorite so who would complain. I think it gets busy here because the food is good, homemade and plentiful. People were friendly and since being a local favorite establishment, many of the patrons knew each other and were joining others at their tables. Very family oriented...reminiscent of firehouse style eating. Go try it out!!!

The mac and cheese was fine but not great, the brunswick stew was watery, and the banana pudding was super liquidy and tasted like sunscreen (my husband said soap lol). It was also mostly whipped cream somehow. The hickory bbq sauce was great, the hush puppies were fine with the cinnamon butter, and the cornbread was really good. The portions are also TINY for the price. Staff was nice but we will not be back.

You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. The gals working at the counter were very friendly. My daughter ordered a catfish po-boy and I got a dinner portion of their Lo Country boil. I should have had the lunch portion as I ended up taking half of it home. The lo country boil was the classic shrimp, sausage, red potatoes and corn. It was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of kick. The cocktail sauce served with it had a perfect amount of horseradish. We also shared an order of "firecracker" shrimp. So tasty. My daughter reports her sandwich was tasty if a bit bready. The portion of catfish on the sandwich was plentiful. Sally Mae's is just off the interstate and worth seeking out if you are in the area.
